Differences between SGP722 and SGP771 models - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
can someone help me to understand the differences between Sony Xperia Z4 SGP722 model and SGP771 model.
I'm looking for the 32GB LTE version, and somewhere the SGP771 is specified as 16GB LTE. Is it possible?
Thank you

Hi,
I can confirm my SGP771 (LTE) on O2 UK shipped with its 32GB internal memory. What's the source of your information?
Thanks,
Jack

Ex. MONCLICK.it list a SGP771BLK with 16GB and 4G connection.
These are the specs.:
Cod. SGP771BLK
Dimensione schermo: 10.1 " ; Connettività: 3G, 4G ; Capacità: 16 GB ; Sistema operativo: Android ; Versione sistema operativo: Android 5.0 (Lollipop) ; Risoluzione: 2560 x 1600 Pixels ; Processore: Snapdragon 810 ; Tipo schermo: IPS ; Peso: 393 g ;
Price is 624,90€
Edit: Monclick.it customer care service just confirmed that their SGP771BLK is a 16GB model

@michimichi75
may be the 722 is a typo
right now there are only SGP771 (LTE) and SGP712 (Wifi - LTE via my SGS5 :fingers-crossed: )

I received my Z4 Tablet SGP771 with 32gb of internal memory;
I bought it on a site that was saying the tablet had only 16gb of internal memory.
So the conclusion is that if the model is indeed the SGP771 it will have 32 gb of internal memory.
(I'm in and from Italy and I bought it here)

Thank you for the feedback.
Can you tell me in what shop did you buy the tablet (with a link to the page, if possible)?
Thank you again.

the huawei mediapad is 301u which is 3G
302u is the 4G version from t-mobile or orange.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Does the Mediapad have 1GB or 512MB RAM. The Orange Tahiti is listed as 512, but I was lead to believe it is 1GB

I don't know about Tahiti, but Mediapad is definitely 1GB

[Q] SO-03E - changing working LTE basebands?

I have a DoCoMo SO-03E and also an SGP321. I have successfully de-branded the SO-03E to an SGP321. Comparing the two tablets, they are identical (after applying the old firmware system to get the 32Gig partition back).
The only issue I've hit has been with LTE in that it has maintained the DoCoMo LTE "working bands" as viewed from the hidden system menu which are 1, 19 and 21 which aren't applicable here in Australia! So it appears that the LTE working bands are part of the firmware of the SnapDragon chip (which has an integrated radio) and hence not changed via the FTF image.
Does anyone know how or if these can be changed via an API/SDK from Qualcomm (if possible) so that the true SGP321 working bands can be applied to the SO-03E to convert it to a true SGP321 with 32gig of internal flash? Looking at the snapdragonS4 pro data sheets and looking at the Sony description of both tablets that state they both use the Snapdragon S4 pro, I would think there is some EEPROM or memory address that could be updated to tell the SnapDragon that it can use the other LTE bands!?? Maybe Sony has the Snapdragon chips configured in batches - those for DoCoMo with 32gig internal flash and those for the rest of the world - SGP321?
Any ideas as to whether this is possible?
Im in your shoes to!
My DoCoMo is debranded with sgb321 and would love to be able to use LTE instead of 3g
I did read somewhere tho that a part of the hardware is different and isnt possibke to do what u want.
Letz hope I read wrong!
If there is an SDK available and the memory space which holds the configuration details for LTE is available then it may be possible. If not, we're stuck with the DoCoMo LTE bands
I was so hoping the firmware re-programed the radio. The issue is the radio is integrated into the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip and not a separate chip.

How did you manage to debrand the SO-03E?
I tried to flash the SGP321 firmware onto my SO-03E with flashtool but it wouldn't flash.
I have successfully flashed the tablet a couple of times using the flashtool. The last time excluding system with the latest so-03e image to get the 32gig partition back..
what did the flashtool say when you tried to flash the new firmware? Mu tablet is locked and not rooted.

I can't remember what the error was it was a while back when someone first posted the SGP321 firmware. it must have been a bad file or something, I just downloaded the latest firmware and flashed and it worked.
Can you explain how to get my 32gb partition back? do i just flash the So-03e image and tick system in the exclude section, and I will still be on sgp321 stock firmware but with 32gb partition?
thanks for your help!
yep. flash an SO-03E image and make sure you select "system" to ignore

thanks! will try that tonight!
as for the LTE bands, no one seems to even confirm if the hardware actually supports the other bands, and the tablet z doesn't seem popular enough for enough people to look into this. let alone the s0-o3e is even less common.
fingers crossed!

Looking into the specifications for the Snapdragon S4 Pro, the LTE radio is included in the chip which means that its actually in the Snapdragon code, not Android. Hence, if there is some EEPROM memory somewhere on the chip that allows for the programming of the LTE bands via a SnapDragon Software Development Kit (SDK) then it may be possible to update/change the bands. This would take some serious low level knowledge of the chip. I actually started looking at the Snapdragon data sheets and sdk examples and unfortunately no where did they mention changing settings for the radio..... I think there would be some demand for the ability to do this as the SGP321 doesn't support the LTE bands of some of the USA carriers... Supposedly the Qualcomm radios are the only ones at the moment that support ALL LTE bands... Obviously device manufacturers and carriers can limit the LTE bands which makes me think there are no different flavours of the chips and that it is the device manufacturers that are selecting/locking the bands.

Moto Z Griffin different versions (and compatibility)

Up to date I've counted three (or four?) different version of Moto Z Griffin (excluding Force/Sheridan and Play which are different phones...)
This is what I've understood (please note: I could be wrong! This thread is here to get more & correct informations...)
Variants found:
XT1650-01 this should be Verizon "Droid" customized version. It has (b)locked bootloader, customized software and very limited LTE support for non-Verizon carriers even if it is NOT SIM locked. I don't know if other North American versions will be marked this way...
XT1650-03 this is the UK version (EDIT: all international unlocked versions seem to be coded this way...). This has an unlockable bootloader by Motorola web site (voiding warranty... ) best LTE support (B20 too...) and it is NOT SIM locked (EDIT: exist even SIM locked on some markets). I don't know if models that will come out in other EU countries will have same code...
XT1650-05 this is the Chinese (far east?) version. This exists for sure in double-sim version (single SIM too?), it has unlockable bootloader (like -03), medium LTE support (B20 seems not to be supported...) and it is NOT SIM locked too.
Even if quite different from -03, TWRP and boot.IMG seems to be interchangeable between the two (to be confirmed!).
This what I know as today (and I could be wrong, ok?).
As you can see, here lacks at least XT1650-02 & XT1650-04 that I've not found everywhere... (EDIT: they should be both Force editions...)
All integrations & corrections are welcome! :fingers-crossed:
EDIT:
Some official product codes of European/Worldwide versions (they should be all XT1650-03...)

The rooting method provided recently.. does that work with the Verizon Moto Z?
I purchased the moto z XT1650-03 with AT&T in México, and comes with locked sim, i already unlocked the bootloader following the instrictions of motorola site.

Thank you for your info. Do you know if your specific model support LTE B20?
It seems that only XT1650-01 Verizon's Droid edition is clocked @2,2GHz, while unlocked ones (XT1650-03, XT1650-05 &, perhaps, unlocked XT1650-01 if North Americans unlocked models will be marked this way too) are clocked @1,8 GHz...
Confirms about this?

Great question...
Motorola Mexico web site?
Is this band used by Mexico carriers?
I bought mine on Amazon Mexico this week, is the white/gold model with three moto mods and the model is the XT1650-03, is SIM unlocked and, I didn't know this, but is double SIM ready!!! . I don't want to unlock the bootloader yet until some development will arrive.
Which is the diference between griffin and sheridan? I ask this because i'm confused, i was playing around with my moto z (not force), flashing some roms and boot.img what i found in this forums, and now when i put the Phone in fastboot mode, the info says i have a sheridan and don't know and don't remember if always was a sehiran. Or was a griffin and after flash one of the roms changed it from griffin to sheridan haahaha
The roms that i've flashed are for griffin and my Phone works fine.
PD. Sorry for my english i used google translator
As already reported in another thread Motorola has done a big mess with codeames and model numbers...
At least the unlocked Moto Z's are all Griffins even if on bootloader page are reported as Sheridans too (and on some sites too...). I don't know if locked Verizon's Moto Z are considered Griffin too (but they are Sheridans for sure).
Ley me add that about model numbers, XT1650-02 and XT1650-04 should be both Force editions (I don't know differences between the two... )

XT1650-03 Is also US Unlocked model (Firmware does say Griffin, but Bootloader says Sheridan)
So basically everything seems to be XT1650-03 except for Eastern Chinese 05 model and VZW 01 model.

Hi all, need advice on a Moto Z China version. I recently purchased this phone and it does not comes with Google Play Services and unfortunately the device prevent you from manually install them into the phone (the services stopped automatically).
Is there a way to install it ? Need advice from all gurus.
Thanks,

Updated OP with French versions (dual sim!)
Updated OP with Mexican & Indian versions (all 64 GB, all Dual SIM!)
Updated OP with Norway/Nordic versions (Dual SIM!)
Updated OP with Spanish versions... probably dual SIM.
I've received an unconfirmed info that Italian unbranded versions SM4421xxxH1 are dual SIM too (two IMEI reported on the box...)!
On Motorola.it web site they say single SIM like UK version...
Someone who can confirm or not about this?

Question 512GB version in Europe?

I am trying to replace my dying Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and have Sony Xperia 1 III high on my list. Is there a 512GB variant for Europe (XQ-BC52) ? If so, where can I find it ? Alternatively, can I use a US or HK variant in Europe (that is, IF I can find 512GB versions of them here) ? I don't wish to downgrade to 256GB and I do need dual SIM.
