Hi,
So i tried to update my galaxy s6 edge t mobile to the latest firmware and once it did, it got stuck in the samsung screen and wont boot. The phone was rooted before, and now it just stays stuck. I have restarted the phone and now I have tried flashing the phone using Odin. It keeps saying failed and it shows the following:: " SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2, BINARY: 1". I have tried downloading the firmware but it just keeps failing. When it updated, it should have updated to 5.1.1 since thats the latest which means i cant just put any other one right?
I dont know what to do to be honest, if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it.
anyone?
Have you tried using Smart Switch to restore Stock firmware?
There are a few solutions mate
1st One:
1) Put your phone into download mode using "Volume Down-Home-Power" combo until your screen comes into download mode and still hold it untill the screen goes off.
2)Quickly switch to recovery mode using "Volume Up-Home-Power" in the black screen and get into recovery
a)if it loads something and says erased... please start from the 1st step again
3)Wipe cache/ factory reset do these things in the recovery mode then reboot.
you should be good to go. If not theres another solution.
--------------------------------------------------
2nd One:
1)Put your phone into download mode.
2)Connect ur phone to the computer via usb and open smart switch
3)Press view more button on the right top.
4)Choose the 1st option as "emergency recovery and restore"
5)Put your model and serial number (its on the backside of the phone)
6)then follow the instructions of the smartswitch
thats it

Ok so my phone stays stuck in the samsung screen and smart switch stays stuck saying connecting to your device. i really dont wanna try the factory reset thing because i havent backed up the files on my phone
Ok so i got to flash it with 5.1.1 using odin but once its done it keeps staying stuck in the samsung logo screen....again.
Just did factory reset and still gets stuck at the damn samsung logo..
I am willing to pay if someone can help me solve this issue
I also noticed that once the downloading portion of the phone is done, it says installing with the android robot picture, then halfway it says erasing and then it restarts and gets stuck at the samsung logo
=(
you need to do wipe cache and, wipe data and factory reset. That erasing part is normal. Your phone is not bricked. That android robot portion just verifies the stock recovery and partitions. No problem with it. just wipe cache dalvik and everything what you can find (there are 2 options already) on the recovery.

UPDATE (30.05.11):
My phone starts up, but then hangs after some secounds. It started happend without me doing anything(I ofcourse had rooted my phone, but that was days earlier)
I have tried to flash Samsung KE7 firmware, with and without .PIT file, I have tried Villianrom v1.1 and I also tried to enter recovery and wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache.
Nothing seems to help, the phone still doesnt work.
I ordered a USB jig so I can reset the counter before I try to get it on warranty.
But before I do that, is there something else I can try?
Is my really phone defect?
What is samsung policy when you have flashed custom roms?

Hello.
Having problem with my phone, tried flashing back to stock KE7, but the phone still hangs when i boots. (Odin, flashed PDA file I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1 )
So how to I completely delete everything, and go back to original samsung state ?

You saved the original firmware ???
Or do you know what your original firmware was . Probably WKDD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Flash back to that but i would wager you are doing something wrong .
Did you extract the tar file I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1
from the zipped file first guess .
jje
Im flashing I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1.tar
And it flashes successfully. But when one flash like this it doesnt delete everyting.
Still having issues with my phone, its hangs on boot, or right after, when I try to enter my gmail acount.
Tried flashing it with PDA : I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.tar
and pit file u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit
DON'T use the pit file, only put the firmware in PDA and then press start.
I had the same Problem, just like you. I forgot to wipe the cache/data in the bootloader, thats why it goes in a boot loop.
first you have to go into the bootloader(shutdown phone, and then press home+volume up+power button). then once you are in the bootloader, wipe the data/factory reset, and then wipe the cache.
after you have done that, you can flash a new rom.
I tried that earlier aswell. But I can try again with the new firmware I downloaded.
This is what I tried now:
Enter rec mode (Power + Volume UP + enter)
wipe the data/factory reset
wipe the cache
Battery inn and out
Enter Flash mode (Power + Volume down + Enter)
Flashed I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.tar with Odin3 v1.85 with only "Auto reboot", "F. Reset time" and PDA file checked.
After the flash, the phone reboots and Lock up on the "S" logo with "Samsung galaxy s II" underneath.
Waited 5 minutes, still locked on the same screen.
Turn the phone off and on, and it lockup where I input sim pin code.
I again turn the phone off and on an it locked up at the "Touch the android to begin, even before I get asked to enter pin..
I turn of and on the phone, And I get to the point where I can am asked to enter google infomation, and then the phone reboots itself and lockups on the "Samsung Galaxy SII GT-9100" logo.
Tried to enter Enter rec mode (Power + Volume UP + enter) and wipe out everything again, and reboot. But the system still hangs.
But I get this error message when I enter Rec mode and when I flash, is this normal?

A little shame bump
Tried to follow this guide http://androidadvices.com/how-to-upd...-3-3-firmware/
But it didnt work for me, Still hangs/reboot.
But the error message with the csc is gone..

Five mins doesn't sound long enough to me. My first boots took much longer, I swear. don't worry about multi csc error, I get that.
While you're at it, buy a jig and reset the custom rom counter to protect yourself

Okay, I can try to flash again when I come home from work today.
How long should I wait? 15 minutes?
Tried flashing again, and I leaved until the phone booted. (Happen very quick this time)
The phone still gets in reboot loop, or it hangs. Sometime its boots up fully(I can move around in homescreen) and then it hangs/reboots.
Tried flashing many different roms, but same symptoms.
Do people have an idea what I can do?
Is my phone defect?

The S2 I have suddenly broke. Broke as in... when I turn it on, it stucks on the S logo again and again.
I don't mind reformating and bring it to the shop but I want to retrieve the data.
Few things about the phone:
1. The phone is never unlocked, rooted or installed with custom rom. It's still original condition.
2. I have tried to plug in the phone when it's showing the S logo. Windows can see the phone as media player, but when i click the drive, it's all empty.
3. Tried to enter recover mode, it asked about "downloading rom" and nothing.
Any suggestions? Just need to retrieve the pictures

That sounds like you went into download mode, not recovery mode.
Download mode is Vol Down + Home + Power.
Recovery mode is Vol Up + Home + Power.

Try going into recovery menu, and do a factory reset. If that doesn't help, flash a new ROM.
Actually I meant to say, I went to download mode and stuck in "downloading".
While, when I was in recovery mode, I see "E:failed to mount /sdcard" when i tried to apply update from external storage
Won't factory reset wipe all the data and pictures?
Thankfully, the problem is actually solved by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
Apparently, the phone was in soft-brick condition. I don't need to flash the .PIT to recover it.
Hi everyone.
I have a i9300 and it is stuck in rebooting.
Power key is ok.
I can get it to download mode or recovery mode.
I can wipe cache and partition but nothing change, it keeps rebooting.
I cant use odin because odin didn't see the phone,
I think USB debugging wasn't on. But I cant find a way to open it without turning on.
I am looking for possibilities and solution for 2 days and I cant find any. Please help me.
bootloop
It seems you are stuck in a boot loop. Try clearing the cache & perform a full factory wipe. Then reboot your device.
Hope that helps.

I also use octopus box to flash and repair efs.

If you've cleared the partition structure then you've turned a possible soft brick into a hard brick, you'll need a new motherboard now.
Try flashing the rescue firmware, from the thread in general, but I wouldn't hold out any hope.

same problem but worse please help
HI guys i have exactly the same problem but my bootloop was caused by installing recovery through the cwm app and then rebooting to recovery through the app. i rebooted to recovery with an app before and it caused this aswell ...however back then my volume down button was working. i fixed it last time by going into download mode and flashing philz recovery however i cant enter download mode or recovery or boot into system.
PS: my phone doesnt boot into recovery it comes up with the samsung galaxy s3 gt 19300 logo then it comes up with the cwm recovery icon in the middle of my screen and 'clockwordmod recovery v6.0.6.4' at the bottom of the screen then restarts itself.
i dont know what to try i have looked around, didnt want to create a new thread just wanted to find out if anyone has any idea of what i can do except for buying a new volume down button thats my last resort apprently its £35 to fix
easy way to fill up you thanks meter guys as any sort of input and advice is extremely appreciated.
alphadavid99 you fried your lcd when you flashed cwm made for note in the other thread.
Hi i have the issue... I am able to get in Recovery and Download Mode.
While in recovery i had formatted the whole internal memory and tried flashing about three AOSP ROMs (Formatting each time before Flashing) but the only result was the endless boot up screen (not boot loop).
Then i tried flashing a sammy ROM and it worked...
Could someone tell me why am I able to flash Sammy ROM but not AOSP (such as ARCHIDROID & SLIMBEAN).
My Model is GT-i9300
Current Modem - XXUGMK6
Current ROM - S4 Revolution ROM (TM)
Thanks in advance for your time if someone has any suggestions
Hello,
I have a S3 which is stuck in a bootloop at the samsung logo.
when i turn it on it shows the logo for some seconds then the screen goes black and the logo re-appears.
i can not boot into recovery mode, but download mode is working without a problem every time.
i tried flashing stock firmwares with odin and also tried kies emergency firmware recovery. the flashing always went without any problem, but it had effect. whatever i try, i am never able to boot into recovery and still stuck in the bootloop.
in some tries after flashing the screen just shows the samsung logo forever, but after rebooting it once it then is stuck in a bootloop again (shows the logo - screen goes black - shows the logo...)
i also tried flashing TWRP and CWM via odin, but again i can never boot into recovery mode.
what should i try next?
thx alot for any helpful comment

You can Try this:
1.) Pull out battery
2.) Put it in again
3.) Press Vol up + home + power
4.) When the Samsung Logo appears let it off
I think you press the Buttons too long.
I had the same problem!

i really tried everything, it's not working. btw with i am stuck at the very first image, where it says "samsung Galaxy sII GT-I9300".
i dont think it's just the way i press the buttons because i can reach it on my s1 and s2 without a problem, it's just not working on this device.
could some setting like "nand erase all" in odin help? in other threads there is sometimes mentioned that the internal file system might be screwed up and in those cases a simple odin reflash does not help anymore...
Nand erase will usually hard brick it. Try the rescue firmware from general forum, sticky thread. Follow the guide exactly as it includes a pit file.

thx, but i already did that (multiple times) and flashing via odin always succeeds. then the phone reboots and is stuck at the first samsung galaxy s.. screen. twice i managed somehow to get into recovery (after flashing cwm6) but it then randomly rebooted.
and i dont think that the power button is stuck because when i am in download mode it is perfectly fine it never reboots itself unexpectedly.
Had a similar issue on my tab2 p3100. It all happened when I tried flashing a custom recovery from rom manager.
A bad flash of anything related to recovery or bootloader could be a probable cause.
I remember a knowledge share on one of the threads describing this issue and as mentioned on it all I had to do is this:
1) switch off the device and plug in the charger. This would light up the display showing you the charging status. The status has to show if at least your bootloader part of the phone is fine.
2) plug out the charger and immediately press the three buttons (home + vol up + power) get into recovery mode. This step has to work and help you get to recovery mode.
***Note : the interval within which this step has to be performed is too short since the display would turn off immediately as soon as you plug out the charger. A bit tricky too so you have to be fast. If this misses getting you into recovery, pull out the battery and put it back again. Repeat step1 and 2 again.
3) upon successfully getting into recovery, perform wipe data, cache and select reboot phone from option available on recovery again.
Allow the device to boot. This could take a while since you have performed a data wipe and may prompt for first time set up.
I was able to restore functionality on my tab after these steps and like ppl learn from their mistakes, I then learnt that recoveries and bootloaders are things that needs to be done with a pc only.
Worth a try if you have tried other alternatives and found no go. may help. Who knows..
all the best.
thats also not working. i tried to get into recovery since two days now...
i also tried the steps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367
but again, after i flash the cf-root (successfully) the phone does neither boot into recovery by itself nor can i do it by hand...
its crazy... in download mode i can see the model number (GT-I9300) and i thought as long as the model number is there and i can enter download mode there should be a way to recover the device.
but i cannot think of anything to try that i have not done yet
If the rescue firmware didn't help then it looks like the emmc chip is damaged.

is there a way to make certain of this? how can i tell if it is really a hardware damage and not just a software brick?
i just dont want to let the phone go, it looks still so shiny
is there anything else that could cause the phone not booting into recovery mode after flashing custom recoveries?

Same here, still didn't found how to fix it.. I guess our motherboard just died..
Howewer I have a solution that "almost" worked for me.
Get a stock firmware in odin and turn on Nand erase and T-flash
When it's done phone reboots and you'll see just "Downloading..." mode when you turn it on.
Then got to Kies and Select firmware recovery...
Enter s/n and model name and wait for the flash to complete.
With it , I got past boot logo and actually booted into android but the phone crashed because I guess I have a memory issue..
Well , gl. If you don't find anything else helpful , try going with this method..
Hello! I rooted my Coolpad E560, a.k.a. Coolpad or Sky Mini and everything was fine until I decided to unroot it. It immediately restarted and will not boot ever since (stuck at logo). I opened recovery mode and selected wipe data/factory reset but it didn't solve the problem, neither did wipe cache. Then I selected reboot to bootloader. "Download and Install the package? Press volume up to agree or volume down to cancel". I press volume up and then it's stuck on "Information Do not disconnect the data cable". In the end I tried to flash stock rom. The only firmware I found was (phone name).CPB and it seems like the only flashing tool that can use .CPB is YGDP. But the flashing process doesn't even begin, it gets stuck on Entering download mode... I unsuccessfully tried to enter download mode on my phone. It doesn't have removable battery, some key combinations I tried didn't work. Now I don't know what to do. Any help will be appreciated.
