i need carrier folder for lollipop 5.0, help please - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

i have a sprint note 3 ................. and i just got boostmobile
the previous owner worked for sprint and did a hard reset and deleted the contents of the carrier folder along with everything on the phone.
now when boost mobile tried to do the handsfree activation i get an error. also the prl update doesnt work, i might need a copy of that too.
and then a copy of profile 0, and profile 1 information
......................................... but for now if anyone has a coppy of the carrier folder for me who is on lolliepop 5.0 THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC.
..... YES, I READ OVER THE HFA FIX SECTION OF THE NOTE 3 ALREADY. THAT THREAD HAS SLOWED DOWN DUE TO NOTE 4 AND NOTE 5 DEV.
IF I COULD GET A COPY OF THE CARRIER FOLDER MAYBE THE PHONE WILL UPDATE PROPERLY, but for now i have a smart phone with no data, only voice and text. really frustrated here ......

use post #4 and change the mmsc to http://mm.myboostmobile.com.
You should make 2 apns the same one with bearer LTE and the other eHRPD.
You can do this by going to ##data# you will need your MSL code.
This should give you data.. As for the HFA it might still try and error out.. Just freeze it in TBA.
Good Luck

note 3 or gs4 ????
you said to use the gs4 carrier zip. i have a note 3
should i use the gs4 file, is it more updated?

[ROOT]Samsung Galaxy S2 Wimax Root Guide

Kinda new at this but decided to give it a shot. There are many variants of the SG2 and recently in Japan, AU Kddi released a beast...
As reported by gsmarena.com-"The Galaxy S II ISW11SC has a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm QSC6085 processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, 2 megapixel front camera, 16GB internal memory, expandable memory, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC."
But being released in Japan there isn't much support for rooting on this phone. Part of the problem is most of its support and forums are in Japanese. After post a thread question, user tora201 showed me the light. He came across a japanese website with a super simple root for this phone. I decided to post it for all of us to use it with some simple instructions. Thanks tora201 for the help. None of this work is mine and all credit goes to the respective creators.
ROOT SCH-ISW11SC Samsung Galaxy S2 Wimax:
1.) Head over to this blog page, http://blog.livedoor.jp/kz_gin/archives/cat_136988.html, and download the two .zip files towards the bottom. They have the labels change_recovery_ISW11SC.zip, and root_ISW11SC.zip...or just use the attachments below...lol
2.) Copy the .zip files to a sd card. tora201 suggested using just an extra one you may have around. Place the sd card in your phone.
3.) With your phone powered off hold Volume Up, Home Button, and the Power Button at the same time until the phone boots into recovery mode.
4.) Using the Volume buttons and the Home Button as a select button, choose the change_recovery.zip from the sd card. (Y'all should know how to navigate these types of menus well, will help those that don't)
5.) Reboot the phone. Now power off the phone again and repeat step 3. Your phone should boot in to Clockworkmod Recovery. The Recovery is now navigated via the touch screen not the keys or buttons!!
6.) Like before go, select install .zip from sd....find your sd card and select root_.zip..then reboot....you should now notice Super User in your App Drawer!!!
Download Root Checker Basic to verify root access. Reinstall your primary sd card and your good to go!!
The only trouble I ran into was when installing the root.zip, it would not detect my external sd card. Repeatedly said "No Files Found". So I restarted the phone, went into the File Explorer, tracked down the root.zip on my external sd card, copied it to my internal sd card. Reboot into Clockworkmod Recovery, tracked down the root.zip through the same steps above expect in my internal sd card. Worked with no charm. Im not a programmer or anything like that, so if you guys have any questions I'll try to answer them the best I can. Thanks and good luck...As always not responsible for any damage to your phone..Come on though, this one is too easy to screw up...lol

Feel free to post some of your Quadrant Standard Scores...i got a high one unrooted...so just imagine what you root magic could do...

yeah but this is a question tread
Thanks for doing Cezeff. I suppose I should probably have posted something myself after I rooted my one. Anyway, glad it worked for you! Been busy as hell perparing for the new uni. semester here.
After rooting I installed 'app quarantine' that allows you to not run/hideany bloatware for the time being. You can keep unwanted stuff in quranteed list when updated as well. Only later when absolutely sure you are sure you don't need it, should you uninstall - or risk permanent instability or worse.
Cezeff, any other tips for this phone? As I mentioned before it would be good to be able to get SMS GO PRO working with the ezweb address. Any ideas how?

Hi, sorry but don't many threads contain questions? Sorry to be rude but what's the difference? Perhaps a lot has changed in the four years or so since I have posted....
If Cezeff buggered up the thread somehow, could you tell him how to turn it from a 'Question thread' into a 'Statement thread'?
yeah i got a few other tips but right now I'm bogged down with training...ill throw some up here later...im still trying to figure out how to get my NFC working...may have to go into AU and ask...
Cheers mate! Waiting for your tips. Hope training going well! Ah, I also can't get NFC going.....
well for one the battery on this phone is already great but Juice Defender is awesome...after 15 hours i had 84%..im pretty sure your aware of that one...it seems after poking around that the NFC is lost after rooting....i tried an NFC Enabler.zip posted by another member for a different variant and no luck...hmmmmm
Cheers. Will give it a try. By the way, you know those programmes that let you quarantine apps? All good until you try un-quarantining. My advice: don't qurantine stuff you think you might need later.
from what i can tell the phone has all the required libs and software expect for the Nfc.apk.....for some reason the one i got from the other thread will not install...i searched around on the web and most NFC cab able phones have the files...
libnfc_jni.so
libnfc_ndef.so
libnfc.so
libpn544_fw.so
Tag.apk + libs
Nfc.apk
the Tap.apk installs just fine...and the other 4 files are present in the system/lib but the Nfc.apk will not install...any ideas?

Using the SHV-E160L in Canada [ICS][Root][CWM][SMS]

I'm making this guide for anyone whose purchased a Korean Galaxy Note and have had a hell of a time getting it to work properly.
In Canada, the Note will only work with Rogers or Fido due to frequency and compatibility issues. Even other networks that support the Note will not work with a Korean Galaxy Note and flashing the telus modems found in other threads has not worked for me, causing the phone to get stuck in a restart loop.
First, upgrading to ICS:
Download the UF13 stock E160L firmware from this website:
http://pspmaster.tistory.com/180
For those with SHV-E160 S and K phones, stock firmwares can also be found on this website with a bit of searching
Flashing:
Put the Korean Note into download mode by holding down the volume down button + home button + power button
- The Note will then display a tonne of Korean text on-screen, press the volume up button to actually enter the download mode
Then run Odin in administrator mode (not really sure if it makes a difference but might as well), make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only checked items, click the PDA button and select the firmware file
Then click start and wait till the phone reboots, the loading screen will have a pink U+ logo and it may take some time.
Once it has booted, insert your microSIM card (yeah for some reason it uses a microSIM, other models don't seem to, wtf Korea?) and let it connect to the network. Once it connects you're good.
Rooting:
(courtesy of locomaniac, his thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671987)
Download these 4 files:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0rz0tuioj3irhz/cwm-160l-update.zip
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ds3sp7bulu54ckg/samsungE160recovery.tar
https://www.dropbox.com/s/lwuadwg4bx7wjro/Superuser-i717-ICS-signed.zip
https://www.dropbox.com/s/si43ikqpcdbzpod/Tegrak.rec.tar
Put the cwm-update160l-update.zip and the Superuser-i717-ICS-signed.zip onto your external SD card
Then shut off the phone and put it into download mode once again (vol down + home + power)
Once it's in download mode, flash the Tegrak.rec.tar in the same fashion as you did with the UF13 stock ROM, it will overwrite the recovery partition of your phone and your phone will then reset
Power down the phone once again and get it back into download mode, this time you'll flash the samsungE160recovery.tar which will install Clockworkmod Recovery into the recovery partition (not sure why you need the Tegrak recovery as well other than its ability to root the phone but do it anyways)
- Please note, if you only want root and not Clockworkmod Recovery which in my opinion, is stupid, do not flash the samsungE160recovery.tar, just go to http://pspmaster.tistory.com/181 and download the two files that correspond to your model, it does indeed have the E160S and E160K kernels as well. Copy the .zip file into your external SD card, then Flash the .tar file using ODIN then boot into recovery by holding the volume up + volume down + power button until the samsung logo appears at which point you'll have to release the buttons. It will boot into Tegrak recovery, select install from .zip, select the .zip file you downloaded and then restart the phone. Once restarted, you'll have to download Tegrak from the Google play store and open the app and select the root my phone option at which point your phone should have root access. Then download superuser from the Google play store and bam you're golden.
For those of you who want CWM Recovery, once the ODIN flash of samsungE160recovery.tar is done, it will reboot. Shut down the phone, then hold down the volume up and volume down buttons with the power button, let go of them all once the samsung logo appears to boot the phone into recovery mode. It will now be CWM Recovery rather than the Tegrak recovery, select install from zip and select cwm-160l-update.zip and install it. Once installed, you will need to select the reboot recovery option (might be under advanced menu, not sure). Or just power down the phone and reboot into recovery. Once it's in, you'll notice that CWM Recovery has been updated, but the menu options still look the same. Familiarity is good. Now choose install from zip and select the Superuser-i717-ICS-signed.zip file and install that.
Once you're done, reboot the phone and you will now have root access.
Fixing the SMS system:
(instructions courtesy of the crazy Chinese developers over at koxda http://koxda.com/thread-14201-1-1.html)
For some reason, Korea has a different messaging system than anywhere else in the world causing messages to send properly only if you're using a third party app like goSMS, and labeling everything you receive as from an unknown number. Obviously, this is ridiculous, so to fix that, you'll need the root access you just obtained as well as Root Explorer (File Manager), an app you can purchase off Google play or pirate with Mobilism. It's a wonderful app that will let you do anything you want to any file you want.
You'll also need mms.apk which is basically the international version of the messaging system from here:
http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/360753/Mms-apk.html
Copy this file to your SD Card
Now you'll want to open Root Explorer, and open the "system" folder then the "app" folder. Here, find 6 files that begin with SEC-MMS and delete them, you may have to press the mount r/w button at the top to get read write permission but do so and you'll be able to delete the files. Then, copy the mms.apk using root explorer from your external SD card into the system/app folder.
Once you're done, close everything and restart your phone.
Once it restarts, you'll notice that Android will attempt to upgrade something, that something is basically the phone installing the mms.apk for you and it will now appear in the applications list. Open the mms.apk, press the menu touch key and go to settings. Here, you need to change the text input method to unicode and then set the message centre number to +15149931123 for Fido, or +17057969300 for Rogers (can also try +17057969500). Make sure to type in that plus sign or it will not work properly.
*Note the messaging program may crash occasionally, keep trying and it should work, once you're done you'll be replacing the normal messaging system which has become unstable with something else.
That something else is the Handcent SMS app which you can download off Google play for free. Install it, then open the app, go to settings, application settings and press the Default Messaging application button, select All (SMS&MMS). Then press back, click notification settings and uncheck the Enable popup option.
AAAANNND YOU'RE DONE
If you have other Korean Note specific problems like the lack of secret menu options to repair your touch keys (which I had, goddamn you Samsung), send me a pm and I'll make another thread on how to fix it, it involves flashing temporary firmware that I really don't have the bandwidth to upload at the moment.
Mine is 160s and I just want CWM. But I see that the file is for 160L. Are you sure if its working for others than 160L?

I'd suggest flashing the tegrak recovery file for the E160S followed by the samsung160recovery, which should give you CWM at which point you can update CWM and root the phone. However, I have no idea if it'll work, so make sure to have a stock ROM on hand in case things go south for you.

Thanks man! Works for my E160K. Just one comment - looks like also you should have valid MSISDN on your SIM card in order to have it working.
You can check is it so or not in "Settings"=>"Phone Identity" - "Phone number" filed should show your actual nuber with "+" and all prefixes. If it's says "unknown" (and it's easily can) - you should write a correct number first on SIM card using "My phone number" application from market (little chance to work, btw), or other phone (Android-based device with CyanogenMod 7.x, Iphone or lots of SE phones can help).

Excellent point, I remember reading this on the Koxda forum, but I didn't bump into this particular problem myself. For my phone number, the information was under settings --> about phone --> status
I remember reading that the easiest fix was actually borrowing an iphone and with its prevalence these days, it should be easy to find someone who'll lend it for a few minutes. Also, since the e160L has a microsim, it should fit into an iphone 4 without any hassle

Thanks to the OP, I replaced the MMS app on my E160L (YAY!).
OK, I found an iPhone that let me 'write' my phone number to the SIM card. It's all done. BUT I can't send an sms with the newly installed stock MMS.apk. Actually, seems like I can send short messages: 70 characters and under using stock but anything longer fails. This seems to have to do with the original Korean models not being able to send anything more than 70 or 80 characters?
The caller ID issue is resolved though. I set the SMSC via the settings as well as via the secret menu accessed via typing 319 712 358 and then the password 0821.
Handcent works for sending and receiving. But I'd also like the stock messing app to work too!
Short of going back to the Telco to ask if they can fix it, anyone have any other suggestions?

It's an inherent issue with Korean versions of the Note. The only way to get around this is to use the Handcent app. :-(

Unfortunately, this 70 character limit is coded into the Korean operating system and I haven't found a way to get past it... yet. The Chinese appear to be cooking up a custom ROM that uses the American operating system as its base which could get around that SMS character limit, will update when I succeed in getting it to work on my phone.

[Q] "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" message after loading modded setting APK
I tried to black out some things per this guide:
www [dot] gs5 [dot] wonderhowto [dot] com/how-to/black-out-system-apps-your-samsung-galaxy-s5-for-better-battery-life-0156502/
It involves replacing some original apk's with some modded black themed ones. I was stupid and didn't back up any of the original apk's. It was all for nothing as nothing got blacked out and the original apk's stuck, however, I can no longer access my settings. I get the "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." message every time I attempt to open the setting menu.
What should I do to fix this? I looked for the original SecSettings.apk for our phone to try and reverse what I had done and I could not find it online. Would this fix the problem? If so where can I find this? If not, what can I do?
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you are rooted since you modified some apk's, without knowing which ones you changed and since you didn't save them to just put them back, you may want to run a nandroid assuming you have one and then just rename the apk's you want to change to .bak and then try again.

Only the Settings one got messed up and won't open. I didn't backup. I'm pretty much just looking for SecSettings.apk for T-Mo GS5 at this point. I can't think of another solution.

You you can download the stock tar for the version you are on and then unzip it and pull the apk from there and replace yours.

Download root Explorer, easiest one to use, goto where you changed the apk, long press on the apk you changed and set the permission to the same as all the others, look at the permissions of one you didn't mess with first and then set the permissions. The reboot. If you are not rooted, root Explorer will not work for you...

And I would highly recommend before you screw with your phone anymore, subscribe to the T-Mobile forums and read read read, you don't want to screw your phone up, and if you still don't get it, ask people, there are plenty of people here willing to help but many will blast you for not doing a little research yourself. And avoid websites for phone hacks and stuff, stick to the forum, these are well tested and experienced devs that build for us, appreciate all they do.

Your post didn't give us a lot of detail about how you went about the changes, which makes it difficult to provide targeted help. But probably if you wipe the cache from recovery mode, then go to the application manager in the settings menu and clear the cache and data for the system app in question, it will more than likely resolve the error message.
In the alternative, download the full stock firmware and extract the stock .apk so that you can revert to a stable system. And remember to make a backup next time.
Also, there are literally hundreds of threads on this subject, so I can only presume that you didn't bother searching before posting. A search should always be your first step since existing threads invariably have a wealth of information and in the majority of cases give you an immediate answer.
Good luck

DK S7 Edge/Note 5 INSTALL THREAD SMS/MMS working

READ CAREFULLY
Ok people are having issues with the original thread which can be found HERE the thread is just so cluttered, and instead of it being cleaned I'll just make a new one for people with the correct information so its not as cluttered. I have been running this rom now for little over 4 days no issues following the help of JRunRun and njdan30 ( So give them thanks )
I can confirm SMS/MMS/BT/GPS all work with no issues ( or with Fixes )
This is JRunRun's installation information that allows the ROM to work flawlessly and worked for me with minor tweaks ( I always try the path of least resistance first before taking the hard way )
TWRP 2.8.7.0 seems to work without issues.
EASY WAY ( TRY FIRST BEFORE YOU TRY THE MANUAL MANIPULATION OF FILES )
1. downloaded - ROM 3.3 DarkLord S7E APEK
2. downloaded - SLIM_APNs SLIM_APNs
3. downloaded - SU SuperSU 2.74
4. placed ROM and APN.zip and Supersu on my external sdcard
5. booted recovery (twrp 2.7.8.0), (I used 3.0.2 )
6. WIPE - Dalivk/Cache/System/Data (Then for good measure I factory reset)
7. Install -- loaded flashable zips from external sd to install
a. ROM 3.3 --> add more zips
b. Slim APN zip
c. Supersu --> started the flash
8. Flashed ROM --> chose sprint phone version, chose "SPR" as my csc in Aroma, DID NOT reboot on finish ( This is where people may be getting confused..)
Select SPRINT MODEL N9xxx then select SPR as the Sales Code ALSO there is another option that is showed here that DID give me issues there is 3 of them. 2 of them are WIPE options the 3rd is NO WIPE keep settings and app data I choose the 3rd option cause I noticed when I tried the first 2 my SMS would not work, and my WIFI would constantly diconnect
9. Allowed twrp to finish installing flashable apn and supersu zips
10. wiped cache/dalvik, reboot to system (10-20 min reboot).
8. Did not restore anything on system setup. Entered wi-fi info but turned it off afterwards. ( I just skipped this all together until the phone was completely ready to go )
Once loaded you will pick your language, and a option will show up wanting you to consent to sending usage data, uncheck mark that and continue setup
11. Loaded new kernel -- darkera 1.9 lte vzw (doubt this step is necessary but easy to find with a google search samsungvn) ( If you need the kernel link you can ask for it here and we will send it too you in a PM ) ( I am running the SPRINT kernel which seems to be very stable )

ro.net.apnroamingwhitelist=ims
ro.net.apnpolicywhitelist=fota,ims,verizon,verizon 800
ro.net.apnroamingblacklist=fota,verizon800
11. used Galaxy Tools to make sure mps_code and sales_code is set to "vzw"

Honestly I do not have a answer to that, since I was already OF1 when I unlocked the bootloader. You can always try and let people know here, I was not the creator of this ROM I was just making a new thread for people who were having issues, due to the original thread being so cluttered with 5 billion different, ways to make it work..
As far as the files go I am currently uploading to google drive to share. I should have everything ready in a few more hours, and will post links
Links fixed at the moment, looking for other hosts for mirrors

In loading this rom everything will change but the modem. I'm still using OF1 modem for example and have a totally functioning rom. That being said, yes I would upgrade and flash a new OF1 rom clean before doing the install. This rom takes quite a bit too get working but when you get use to it, it's no big deal. I wish folks good luck on following the instructions. They did not include any apn settings which I needed to get it going but what do I know.
Hello I am a bit confused with the rom 3.3 ---> add more zips did you mean you installed the rom then installed slim zip then you reinstalled the rom again?

Add Zips means in TWRP you select the ROM, then select ADD more ZIPS which in turn you add 3.3 SLIM_APN, and SU then flash..
and no I didn't modify anything, my install method is highlighted in RED.
Thanks will definitely try it later

Then you probably didn't uncheck mark the, "send data" option while setting up your phone... and if you used my way in red ( I didn't have to use the FULL how to ) then you shouldn't have to edit the APN at all, you just flash the rom APN and SU that's all you have to do.
ONLY use the full installation if the easy way doesn't work...
The pics I just uploaded will kinda help, in TWRP. make sure you ADD all 3 files ROM - SLIM APN - SU then you start the flash
2nd pic is install of rom, you choose what is circled, I didn't get one of the next screen but you scroll down till you find the code "SPR"
Next pic again the option needed here is whats circled.
4th pic, MAKE sure you leave this ALONE don't select it, just finish out of it, and it will take you back to TWRP and the flash/install of SLIMS APN and SU will begin once those are done reboot
Can't mount extsd.
Nvm. I figured it out.

Can someone send me the kernel by PM? Thanks
i was able to get the rom up and running but noticed i am unable to access the internal sd or external sd through my phone. I am also unable to boot to twrp.
which means I cannot flash the kernel that allows access to the sd card.
I tried reinstalling twrp through odin, it was supposedly successful but just get pushed back into system when booting to recovery.
any help would be appreciated
thanks,
Edit: was able to access twrp through restart option instead of shutting off and using hardware button combo
MMS
I just got this installed and all seems working fine. Except MMS. Im sure Im just missing something. When I send an mms messgae, it fails and says invalid address entered. What gives?
could someone send me the link to the darkera 1.9 lte vzw kernel please
I made the mistake of changing the Access Point Names without copying them first. Would someone be as so kind to list the correct settings, that has everything working. Thanks

Looking For [Full Factory Reset] ZIP for Symbol/Zebra MC40

I got this Motorola/Symbol/Zebra MC40 from a yard sale, but it has some custom rom on it. I would like to unlock it's full potential. I have found a copy of both the Kitkat and Lollipop upgrade packages for this handheld, but from what I've read, I'm thinking that this might just upgrade the underlying OS and leave it in the custom state. I am looking for the [Full Factory Reset] package for it that is supposed to do a wipe/clean. The original file name is M40N0LXXXRW0000003.zip
Thanks.
May have one you can try

If you just wish to reset to any of these 3 Enterprise Reset, Factory Reset or Full Factory Reset (with SD). And your system you are able to get into and pull up a program called "StageNow" I may be able to help. I have done all 3 on TC70 and a MC40. Without needing any .zip files. I do not post much so I am not sure I can post url but if anyone would like to try it let me know and I will try to attach it here or post a link.
