I got my Edge yesterday and I am wondering if there's anyway to change the H/H+ to 3g/4g symbol? I know it's a silly request but thought I'd ask anyway.

As we all indians know, tata docomo has even stopped providing 3g network to those who have not subscribed to a 3g net plan... i was wondering if anyone has managed to break through?
2G speeds are very bad here.
Wrong section mate
Go to Carrier Discussion. No network crashing, MODs may issue a warning.
Sorry
Oh I am sorry brother . Apologies. I request the moderator to delete this thread.
Perhaps a gud news : )
I think docomo has started again giving 3g speed..I have used it 2 days ago in 3g nd many have confirmed that they have also got 3g speed..

Oh then it seems I am the one unlucky guy
is there any trick to enable 3g mode? I mean when switched to 3g, d does not show any coverage, but when I take a look at the signal values, there is a network. but somehow it does not show...
No man i didn't do anything else for getting 3g network...i just selected wcdma mode...
U can try enabling data roaming, may be that work....

Even that' not working for me... tried *√
I have a International Galaxy S3 I9300 bought in India and i have come to US and have took a TMobile connection. Now the issue is that , im not getting 3g(h,h+) speeds all the time. I have set my device in Auto(GSM/WCDMA) . I have another guy under same roof using same Tmobile conn (Nexus 4) and he is getting 3g speeds and im not. Its showing as Edge('E') in my phone. I can confirm that the 3G is working at some places near my apartment so its not an activation issue or something. Does it has to do anything with the ROM/kerner . I have been using the Foxhound/Persus combo. Should i change the modem settings?
Try setting the Network Mode setting to WCDMA only (instead of auto). I am on AT&T, but was having same problem in certain areas and this fixed it.

Yes, i tried this, but the network goes blank. I'm sure im covered under a 3G area as the other guy is getting awesome speeds under the same roof. Was it because the other guy got his mobile in US(Nexus 4) and i got the international version that it could not read certain spectrum? Really confused.
Did you compare APN settings with other phone? Somewhere here there are probably APN settings that are optimized for T-Mobile. Or may find them on Google.
My gt-i9300 does the same

I'm on omega v35 and I have tmobile as well. it seems I get this edge all around were I live but then I'll go about a mile in any direction and I'll "all hspap??, 4g, 3g., all" I guess thats because of the towers mabey and the fact that I have the international as well. If any one knows why I would like to know as well.
hey guys I got an gs2 the other day but to notice its not picking up my network 's 3g , but my old gs2 picks it up my newly gs2 only picks up edge, is it cause it came from a different country or something? is the band maybe different. and is there anyway to get it to picks up the 3g

did you check the network mode (GSM / WCDMA) settings?
yes that's already checked
So...with only WCDMA you get no network right?
I guess you could flash another Modem, can't hurt.
Is there any way to force LTE only mode. I know it mostly depend on my carrier but I live in a fringe area where my phone keeps switching between modes. I used to be able to use *#*#4636#*#* but that does not seem to work anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I already had a thread with the same question one the day I bought this phone .
Anyhow , if u have better 4g signal reception in your area .just drag down notification bar , drag the toggles up and u will find some more toggles there .
At the bottom u will see 4g and click on it .
Now your mobile will be on 4g till u leave your area
Thanks a lot for your reply, that's my problem that I live in an area with poor 4g coverage and my phone keeps going from 4g to 2g as my carrier does not have 3g.
You cannot keep your phone in 4g network only . (I know u want to Force LTE only ) ,if so u won't be able to receive msgs and calls on that particular sim.
Soo everyone recommends 3g/4g as a mode for network selection.
And LTE only can't be forced on honor 5x
Hi,
I want to turn off LTE when I'm home since the 4G LTE speeds are really bad here. I've been searching online but all the solutions point to Mobile Network--> Network Mode settings but I only have 3 settings available in there and none is for 4G without LTE:
LTE/3G/2G
LTE/3G
2G Only
Is there another way to turn off LTE and connect to 4G? I used to have an old Galaxy S7 and it was possible to use just 4G.
Model Number: SM-G960U
Android Version:10
Thanks in advance
