Install stock failed - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hello!
I have problem when try to get back to stock after installed GPe ROM...
Flashtool vagy Pc Companion doesnt work anybody could help me how to solve?

First of all, this should be posted in the FAQ section, not here. To help you fix this can you please answer these questions?
1- What do you mean by Flashtool and PC companion "does not work"? What error messages do you get from each?
2- How do you use Flashtool? In Falsh mode or fastboot mode?
3- What is the version of your flashtool?

Please copy and paste your Flashtool log here, or attach it as a file.
OR:
Follow this instruction VERY CAREFULLY.
1- Disconnect your phone from the computer and turn it off completely.
2- Find and download an FTF that is specifically for your device. For example if your device is a C6833 find an FTF specifically for that model. You can find a ton of these FTFs in the general forum.
3- Make sure your Flashtool version is exactly 0.9.18.6. If not, uninstall it and install 0.9.18.6.
4- Run Flashtool and click on the icon that looks like a spark (flash device). Choose flash mode.
5- Navigate to the directory where the FTF is and select the directory.
6- You should see the contents of the FTF appear in the dialog window. Under "Wipe" select all of them (APPSLOG, DATA, and CACHE).
7- Click on flash and let the program do its work. Wait until it prompts you to connect the phone.
8- When prompted, hold the volume down key and then connect the phone to the USB port of the computer. Keep holding the key down until you see the flash starting. Wait until it completes.
If you get an error in any step, CLEARLY describe what fails AND include the error message by posting the log or a snapshot of your screen. If you just say "it didn't work" I won't be able to help.

Tried this very carefully but get this error!

You are not using the version of flashtool that najoor told you to use.
DOWNLOAD VERSION 9.18.6, the latest version is causing that error.

If the phone not have enough battery do the following:
1- Makes sure it is turned off. To do so you can hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously for a few seconds and then you will feel a vibration and then the phone will turn off.
2- leave the phone connected to a charger for about 10 hours.
If that doesn't charge the phone you will have to take it to a Sony repir center.

I am sorry I'm trying to help you, but unfortunately I don't understand your sentence.
I looked at the log that you posted. it seems that when you connect your phone to the computer in step 8, the phone is not turned off.
Try turning the phone off again the way I told you. When you are turning it off if should not be connected to the computer or charger. Otherwise it turns right back on.
And don't worry about heating. After the phone is turned off you can connect it to the charger for many hours.
Don't try anything new. Just follow the instructions I gave you.

[Q] Xperia U with modified kernel can be upgraded to ICS by the sony site?

XperiaU have a modified kernel with android 2.3.7, want to know if I upgrade to ICS by Sony's PC Companion can cause a problem for the modified kernel. (root)
If you use a modified kernel, then you have an unlocked bootloader so you cant use Sony PC Companion! Get Flashtool and the FTF instead Its a lot faster and simpler in my opinion
If you have any doubts on howto proceed, reply here or message me
Cheers

already heard about using FlashTool if you know of any link that teaches this would be grateful if you showed. but if I tried using the PC companio what would happen?
Found this on AndroidSoul Blog and modified for relevance :
1) Now copy the “.ftf” firmware file that you downloaded for your phone, and paste it inside the “firmwares” folder.
2) Double click the “FlashTool.exe” file.
3) Once the program opens — click on the “Flash” button. Its the Lightning button on top left
4) You’ll see the firmware that you copied loaded on the screen — click “Ok”!
Now it should ask you to connect your phone to the PC. So first plug the USB cable to PC, then pick up your phone and hold the “Volume Down” key and then connect the USB cable to your phone. Remember you’ve to hold the “Volume Down” key while connecting the USB cable to phone.
Once the phone gets connected — Flashtool will automatically start the flashing process.
Keep an eye on the Flashtool’s screen.
And once the process gets finished, disconnect your phone from PC and switch it ON.
Don’t freak if it takes longer to boot (that’s normal) as the phone has to build the cache again after flashing.
That will get you started And Sony PC Companion will give an error saying modified software if you try to flash on device with unlocked bootloader
ps : Since you are flashing a rom, use Flashmode and not fastboot when asked

Hello everybody,

You need to be in flashmode to flash something
This means take out the battery, wait a few seconds, insert it again, hold volume down and while holding volume down connect the phone to your pc. The green led will indicate you are in flashmode.
Then you click in flashtool on the flash - flashmode - select the .ftf for your device (mini, st15, smultron) and click OK.
When it has finished flashing you should be able to boot up your phone
Or even better and easier would be the repair option in PC Companion or Sony Update Service :good:

You don't need to enable anything
In flashtool do what I told you, select the ftf etc and click ok. There'll be a windows that tells you to connect the device in flashmode.
Now you take the battery out of your phone, wait a few secs, insert it again and now just press volume down and connect it via usb to your PC. Don't power it on! Just press volume down while it's turned off and connect the usb
It will automatically start flashing and when it's finished, unplug your device and start it. If it won't start flashing because it doesn't recognize your device, go to the flashtool installation folder - drivers and install all drivers for all modes/devices again. Then try to flash the firmware like I told you :good:

[Xperia P] problem flashing ftf file via flashtool

Hi all,
I can't flash the stock rom on my xperia p with flashtool. I followed all step of many guide of various web sites (much the same). I trying to flash LT22i_6.2.A.1.100_Generic World.ftf, but when i connected my device in flash mode, i waited a few second and flashtool output this:
26/059/2014 15:59:57 - INFO - (MainSWT.java:127) - Device disconnected
26/000/2014 16:00:08 - INFO - (MainSWT.java:139) - Device connected with USB debugging off
26/000/2014 16:00:08 - INFO - (MainSWT.java:140) - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
Why? My device was in debug on when i plugged it, and Flashtool recognized it!
What is MTP mode??
Some details:
- My device is Xperia P LT22i;
- I have installed xperia p drivers;
- It has custom rom and kernel of Kit Kat's android version;
- It has unlocked BL;
- I'm using windows 7.
Sorry for my english. I hope this post is clear.
Thank's in advance =D

Without performing flash, open flashtool and connect in flash mode, see that it stays in flash mode for about 45 seconds, if not it may be driver issue.

I'm using windows 7. I have installed xperia p drivers.
Talking of drivers, the first time i used drivers to unlock bootloader, i didn't use flashtool. Instead (following instructions in an android forum) i download a fastboot-driver folder containing Flashtool_drivers.exe and installed drivers from there and unlocked BL from command line (cmd). Later i download and installed flashtool (Version 0.9.10.2beta6). The procedure for installing drivers are the same. It might be this the problem?
I'm not very pratical with this element and terms. So be patient with me xD

So be patient with me xD

instruction
1 ) Run label - Flashtool.exe ( After installing the label should appear on your desktop , but if it does not, look for a shortcut to the root directory of the installed program " C :/ ... / Flashtool")
2 ) After starting the program you will see the Flashtool window inside which will block with the lightning bolt (click )
3 ) In the resulting window, select Flashmode
4) In the resulting window , in the left center of the screen you will see the firmware which was previously thrown in " C :/ ... / Flashtool / firmwares", click on the firmware
5) On the right will "tick" do not click if you do not know what you are doing . "Wipe Data" means erase all that was in the phone. Remove or leave - you decide for yourself. However, we strongly recommend that when a different version of firmware OS erase everything .
6) We click "OK "
7 ) You will see a graphical user guide your actions , namely : Turn off your phone , hold Volume Down + Connect the USB cable to the computer and then to your phone. You did everything right if you turned green diode . In no case " run " line of the firmware not vyderayte USB cable! Do not get scared if you see a mistake sometimes in red font !
9. ) Wait reported successful firmware "Flashing finished"

You did not install flash and/or fastboot mode drivers too (though it seem you had if you unlocked bootloader)?
If you are on 64 bit windows you may try Flashtool.exe instead Flashtool64.exe.
Revealed(?)
@SonyFan23: Thanks for the guide. =)
I followed all steps carefully knowing terms and what it make me do. It's not the red font, but the red diode after the green one to worry me! -_-
@ChikeD: I try both Flashtool.exe and Flashtool64.exe. it seems they both work. In any case, i'm on 64 bit.
Yes, i unlock BL, so i had to install this drivers. But, after i connect my phone in flash mode as you told me, few seconds later flashtool show that the device is disconnected!
It seems that the problem is drivers.
What should i do? Unistall and install them again?

[Q] I flashed the wrong rom

I flashed the wrong rom on my Xperia Z2, I tried fixing it by flashing tft file, but I couldn't even get the device into flashmode (Power + Vol up), It just never vibrates, when I put it in the charger it just keeps blinking red.
What's the proper fix for this? and is this a soft-brick or hard-brick? Please help.

Flashmode is not Power button + Volume up. But...
Connect USB to ur computer
Then Hold the Volume Down key on your phone while u connect the USB Cable to the phone.
If you successfully get to flashmode, then u can flash an FTF file for ur phone. (This will also wipe internal sd files if you don't untick 'data' under wipes) Then again, phone might not boot properly if you don't wipe as u said something about custom ROM.
OR Follow these steps I found on Sony website
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps
Tried using flashtool with Vol down buut
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I'm sure that I have the drivers installed as I tried earlier today to unlock the bootloader through flashtool (which didn't really work out) and it recognized the device just fine.
right now it doesn't even show the Sony logo..I'll try PC Companion method in seconds..
EditC Companion is asking me to make sure that the battery level is above %80, when I was flashing the new rom, the battery level was around %50, should I care about this, or is it just an extra precaution? because I don't really see a way for me to know the battery level.

I'm sure 50% is enough to install through PC Companion unless ur battery is bad.
And do you by anymeans use windows 8? If you do, Did you disable driver signature while installing Flashmode, Fastboot and Z2 drivers from the C:\Flashtool\drivers folder, or where ever u installed flashtool to.
I believe I didn't disable driver signature, I connected the device to a different usb port too just to be sure, my OS is windows 8.1.
PC Companion is updating the phone right now, I'll see how it turns out and report back to you, thanks.
Edit:It worked, my phone is alive, thank you, stanley <3

[Q] Flash Mode not working after flashing GPe ported rom

I decided to return to latest stock rom.. but flash mode is not working/gone? When I plug the usb cable while holding the volume - button, led will blink only.. after a minute or two phone will automatically boot. Fast boot is working btw.. Any ideas?
Edit:
I did not notice I double post..sorry, please delete
That's normal.
Don't connect your Ultra yet.
- Open Flashtool
- Choose the FTF you want to flash
- Let it prepare the FTF
A pop-up will... well... pop-up, asking you to turn off your device and enter Flashmode. Do that, and it'll start flashing the second you plug it into your computer.

I had windows issues at one stage and it would drom flashmod after about 30 seconds - not long enough to flash a ftf. a reinstall of the drivers fixed it (rebooy between uninstalling and re-installing)

I believe Flashmode is designed to disconnect if there isn't any "activity"? I.e if there isn't any data going to the device.
If i enter flashmode but don't flash anything, it'll disconnect after a minute or so. This is happening on both Win7 and Ubuntu. If it's flashing, then it won't disconnect. And there's no reason to enter flashmode until Flashtool has prepared the FTF. You can do all that without connecting the device.
