Hello,
Am running CM12.1 on my moto E. When I try to restore my TWRP backup from recovery, i don't see any error messages during the restore process. But after the system reboot, I cannot turn on my mobile data. And also I cannot open the 'mobile data settings' menu from notification drawer, when I press that data settings menu, then 'setting has been stopped' message is appearing..
So I did flashing CM12.1 again and now no problem on data menu. Everything working perfect.
What is the actual problem of this TWRP restore ?? Any fix?

I don't have this bug, have you tried rebooting the phone after nandroid restore?
You can also try wiping dalvik and cache

I tried yesterday to install a theme but did a newer cwm4 backup just in case.... I had done this many times before with no problems whatsoever... But this time it didn't go well... Upon restoration I was greeted to the first time use screen and none of my apps were restored... The previous SMS messages were there but not the contacts or pretty much anything else. I tried extracting the data with appextractor but unfortunately it hangs on most options... But it does find the apks so they are definitely there I just don't know why cwm won't restore them... Anyone has any idea? I have a lot of information saved on the phone that I will be really screwed if I don't get it back...
Have you tried to repeat the restore?? If not, then wipe data, cache and dalvik and repeat the restore...

Many times and it's always the same case...
Try to reflash your rom (or another) and then to do the restore....

hi, question for you guys.... I would like to try the new feauture on ICS that let me encrypt my phone (I think it will take more or less 1 hours) and I think It will encrypt almost everything. But no idea how it works. Do u think it will be a problem for cwm recovery ? I mean usb storage, flashing ecc ecc or I ha ve to switch the phone on to use the memory card in my Nexus S ? thank you !

If you encrypt you will not be able to mount /sdcard in CWM, and probably nothing else either
I wouldn't use it until they release a way to unencrypt the phone after, currently only way is to lose all data and reflash rom :/

ONLY FOR CUSTOM ROM
Found this new great script.
All consideration goes to the dev who built it and still supports it, so go and thank him.
Cmdalvik command solved not loading apps issue on ungaze and hopefully the botloops problems. So test, thank the guy and report back to his thread so he can make it better if needed.
I tested and it works fine on O1.
After flashing it needs to be enabled (see configuration commands)
After enabling dalvik cache apps already installed won`t start, so you need to enable cmdalvik also and apps will load properly after reboot.

So, do I have to enable both dalvik and cmdalvik?

I had tried this script earlier on cm7. I was getting boot loops all all the time.

CM Dalvik - m2sd cmdalvik <enable/disable>
For some reason, the CM Team has come up with this fun idea to place the dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache with the rest of it. This is especially fun when you have a cache size of 5mb, because then there is not enough space to build the dalvik-cache and you end up with these really funny reboot loops. However, if you are some boring person that does not find these reboot loop's fun, you can enable cmdalvik to fix this problem. It will force the dalvik-cache in /cache to be placed in the correct /data path among the rest of the dex files.

Yup, i got bootloops too. That was not solved. It is recommended not to use sd ext more than 1 GB, set with other recovery than CWM which is buggy.

I did and it worked.
M2SD bootloop and crashing
is there any other preparation that needs to be done to the SD card? before i can use this. sorry in advance if this has been answered but i cant find out how to fix my problems
im running
Nexus one running Evervolv
I tried to install a custom ROM from XDA forum and my phone got bricked, then I unbricked my phone and after that I installed a bunch of ROM one after another and I don't know at which point but my phone is only showing only 9 GB available out of 32 GB but there is nothing in the storage
I think you have to format the data partition before re-installing a rom. This should re-establish the full storage.

If you are in eui go to settings and look for restore or similar and factory reset and make sure to tick "format virtual sd"

I did that too but still didn't work.
Heyyo, format data in TWRP like this.
Please note you will need a PC to transfer your ROM and Gapps back onto the device as it does format the data partition in its entirety.
https://i1.wp.com/www.99mediasector.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/twrp-format-data-min.jpg
You can either try regular usb MTP file transfer or if that doesn't work?
Adb push nameofthefile.zip /sdcard
Which will put the file into the root sdcard folder. Then from there flash.
I had to do this on my x829 otherwise I only had about 30GB of data storage instead of 54GB which I achieved after format data and copying ROM and Gapps from my pc
Hi, yesterday i used pixel experience and all work. i want format for change with another aosp rom.i can't connect wifi and don't read the sim in initial configuration. I format and reinstall another aosp rom but nothing. Not work.
PS. I have format in twrp with wipe system, data, cache\dalvik and after i have install the new rom.
