WORKING ROOT | T-Mobile LG Leon 5.1.1 Lollipop - LG Leon Guides, News, & Discussion

{WORKING ROOT FOR T-MOBILE LG LEON LTE 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP}
.....so after a week & some change of endless searching for a working root method, following tons of half-assed directions, trying about 4-5 "1-click root scripts" and installing a bunch of different root APK's with absolutely no luck I finally successfully rooted the T-Mobile LG Leon 5.1.1 Lollipop by putting together a few things I found on this forum.....
This method (with files linked to this post) ONLY works on the T-Mobile LG Leon LTE 5.1.1 Lollipop by downgrading to the previous 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware before the current version.....I did not try it on the MetroPCS variant so please do not inbox me asking "hey bro does this work on MetroPCS??" because I do not know.
It will more-than-likely work if you follow the instructions but you'll need the MetroPCS firmware .kdz file, not the one linked to this post...just find the file and follow the instructions below.
You need the following;
T-Mobile LG Leon Drivers-----> Windows | MAC
LG Flash Tool 2014-------------> LG Flash Tool 2014
LG Leon H34510d kdz file-----> H34510d kdz file
Kingroot 4.5---------------------> Kingroot 4.5
Once you've downloaded the above files follow these directions to successfully root your LG Leon from T-Mobile.
*********************************************************
~BACKUP WHATEVER YOU DO NOT WANT LOST~
~This method will wipe all your apps, pictures, etc.~
*********************************************************
|[ INSTRUCTIONS]|
1.) Download & extract above files to desktop.
2.) Put device in download mode by powering off completely. Then, while the phone is still off, hold the "volume up" button for 2-3 seconds and insert the USB wire (make sure the USB is connected to your desktop/laptop) until download mode screen appears.
3.) Run LG Flash Tool 2014
4.) Once the LG Flash Tool is open, leave (or select) "Select Type" As "CDMA".
5.) Change "PhoneMode" to "CS_EMERGENCY".
6.) Click the folder icon to browse your computer and select the "H34510d_00.kdz" file.
7.) Click the button that says "CSE Flash".
8.) Click on the Start button.
9.) Click on "Clear Update Registry".
10.) For "Country" select "Different Country"
11.) For "Language" select "English" (or whatever language you use).
12.) Click "Okay" and let the LG Flash Tool recognize your device. The Flash Tool will do it's thing and load the file onto your device...it takes a minute or two so just let the process run it's course. Once it hits 100% your phone will reboot once or twice- leave it plugged in -you will see the Android with the spinning blue "thing" in his belly for a second or two then the device will reboot. Wait until the Flash Tool progress bar is at 100% on your computer and your phone shows the setup page (like when you turn it on the very first time) and unplug the device.
***Once the downgrade starts you may see a popup window that says something like "Can not connect to servers" but it is just an error...you can see the timer & progress bar running behind the popup, just ignore it.***
You are now downgraded to the 10d firmware {H34510d}.
13.) Install Kingroot 4.5 and run that and it will take about 30-60 seconds to acheive root.
###ENJOY ROOT ACCESS###
If, for some wild, crazy reason this fails and you soft-brick your device (which shouldn't happen if you follow the directions) check this thread to unbrick: Unbrick T-Mobile LG Leon
Thanks to Yazuken1 and IPRJ25 for some of the info that helped me put this together.

I used this exact same process, except for the Kingroot step. For that step, I used this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-root-lgls770-5-1-1-t3184649. It takes longer than Kingroot, but it might be useful to have that documented here.

Has anyone tried this with metro pc version or have the .kdz file for metro pc version

i did that several months ago and it is working fine. Mine is LG Leon on MetroPCS. MS-345
i found the kdz on the Internet without much trouble. here you have the KDZ file

I did it with Kingroot 4.1 so i guess 4.5 should better.

I just used Kingroot 4.5 because it was the first to pop up on the returned search links...when I previously installed Kingroot (4.1 I believe) it said there was nothing for the device it was installed on but that may be because I didn't downgrade yet...

Can someone with an Android forums account re-host this?: http://androidforums.com/threads/leon-one-click-root-works-on-10d-10e-ms345-h345-no-kingroot.938062/

New root method that does not involve KDZ flashing: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/LG_Leon_OCR_v2.zip Credits go to digital-bug, NBreunig3, Chainfire, Unjustified Dev, avicohh, & high247 and CamoHiddenDJ from Androidforums who modified this for LG Leon. Also, thanks to es0tericcha0s for rehosting the file.

Has anyone tried this on the risio varrient?
Thanks!

5.1.1 Lolipop
Can I flash this kdz on h340n ?
The phone also has snapdragon and is LTE enabled.

OP CHANGED: New versions added.
Guide tested on LG Class (Aka LG Zero,my new phone) It's working fine. Thank you for understanding.

So, to stay rooted we must stay on this D version?
Thanks.

Seconded! That script is supposed to be able to root the newer 'e' and 'f' roms according to the post, but I can't register! I've been trying for over a week to get a dang Android Forums account, but the signup process seems broken right now and emails to the site admins have gone unanswered. All I need is that silly script and it's really aggravating

Kdz error!
I am having a problem. The kdz file will not work says no file when trying to download. Can anyone help me or email me the h34510D Is a file please! Or is there another kdz I can use for a successful root? I have tried changing the urls devtester suggested as well. [email protected]

I had the LG Leon a while ago and I have rooted it with Kingroot 4.1 and replaced kinguser with Supersu using SupersuMe Pro 9.1.2 (other versions didn't work, they hangs on the phase 1). I don't share my apk since it is a paid app. But I still recommend using Supersu rather than kinguser as it is more compatible with a lot of root apps (e.g. Titanium Backup tells you that you MAY have some problems with it, Busybox by Stericsson doesn't work telling you that you are not rooted ecc.) But there is still a little workaround if you don't want to use SupersuMe (and of course it's free ): when you have kinguser install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitcubate.root.busybox.complete&hl=it , (it's mandatory for Flashfire to run) install Busybox within the app and then install Flashfire and with the app flash the Supersu.zip . Flashfire says that it isn't tested on this device but I flashed Xposed, Titanium Backup system zip and Dolby Atmos on mine. Only thing I noticed that restoring the backup of Flashfire simply doesn't work (idk why). But for sure it flashes zips with no problems.

thanks have another issue
so I have tried this.... one problem, my phone is stuck at the lg logo screen upon boot-up...
not sure why I am having problems getting the kdz file... even for original firmware... i tried using a friends macbook ( i hav hp pavilion with ad free commands) and still no luck. but anyways not sure what to do from here. I have tried a hard reset... still no luck.

LG LGL75C (Optimus Zip)

Hello everyone.
Forward
Originally, I was going to flash my Droid X2's MEID to my LG OpZip's MEID and use the X2, but found out when I got home, it had to be unactivated, and I was already activated, so that plan went down the drain. I've spent the last, oh, 2 or 3 days trying to root, install a custom rom, and expand my internal storage to no avail. After doing alot of research on the issue in regards to rooting it, I found (on another site I think) that my sw version is not the same as the other OpZip's that have been rooted, and to all of my research, I cannot seem to find anything that matches my model and sw version.
Phone Information
Phone: LG Optimus Zip
Model: LGL75C
SW Version: LGL75CV1
Android Version: 2.3.4
Provider: Straight Talk (Verizon towers)
Things I've Tried
Super One Click
ADB
LG Optimus Zip One Click (different sw version)
Alright, now for the part I need assistance with... Does anyone know a root method for this phone? Are there any custom ROM's that are compatible, or am I overthinking it, and should assume most are compatible?
I look forward to any and all responses, and thanks in advance.
Ori
Bump. Don't generally like doing that, but I'm desperate to find an answer.

I'll second that bump. The model of this phone is VS700 - But many report that root attempts are unsuccessful because of the SW version.
Interestingly enough, when trying to use LG update software on my PC, it says the LGL75CV1 is indeed on the supported device list for updates, however when the LG software tries to read the SW Version from my phone, it says ERROR. I call up LG, they say all updates should be done through Tracphone.
Is there something different about the file system? are developers somehow locked out of this? Any update would be great. The phone has potential, alot of potential. Lets get it rooted guys!
bump
a friend of mine has this phone with this sw version (lgl75cv1) and is chomping at the bit for me to get it rooted for him. if anyone, anyone at all, has any info please speak up.
thanks guys
I was able to root this phone today easily using this thread referred by a user at another forum.
I can't post a link but the instructions are at androidforums under a thread called "Finally rooted M865c for Straight Talk"
It works fine for the LG Zip LGL75C 2.3.4
It was a very simple process. I am now looking for a way to install a clockworkmod recovery on the phone to make a backup. Anyone have any insight on how to install the correct CWM please advise.
LGL75c Optimus Zip
Everywhere i look it says this phone cannot be rooted because it has a locked bootloader. I even went as far as paying root android for the software which they assured me would root this phone. It failed miserably.
I am looking for anything that will help me root this phone as I want to tether the 3g to my nexus 7 tablet, to have internet wherever I go with my tablet.
How to root LGL75C
I just managed to root my LGL75C (provided by Straight Talk).
Download 2 files:
Poot .apk: sharesend. com/qe9jl6ij
Ministroll .apk: sharesend. com/8orgvw4r
EDIT: Since I'm a new user, this forums board won't let me link to the apk files. Sorry :\
Step 1:
Download the Poot-debug.apk and Minstro-ii.apk and place the 2 files in the root of Your SDCARD.
Or put both files somewhere on /sdcard and open the files via file manager/explorer.
Step 3:
Install both the Poot-debug.apk and ministro-ii.apk. (You will need to make sure that you have enabled "Unknown Sources" under the application settings menu of your phone before you will be able to install these apks.)
Step 4:
After both apks are installed open Poot. It will open up ministro-ii and download quite a few libraries that are necessary for the Poot to work. Once it has completed click the button that says, "Press here to poot", and hope for the best.
Step 5:
Pay attention the the messages displayed on the screen. Most messages should start with a
, but you should see a couple of [-].
As long as the only warning messages you receive are the following, you should have successfully rooted.
Code:
[-]current && current != last + 1: 0000ffff 0000ffff
[-]Haxx has run its coarse. Reboot the device to play again
A demon materialized while pooting. Error code: 64
You will receive these messages because Poot does not recognize the M865c kernel and is unable to clean things up without rebooting.
Again, the three warnings listed above are nothing to worry about.
Step 6:
Reboot your phone to save changes and allow the exploit to take effect.
Step 7:
Open Poot and click on the button that says Built-in rootcheck to verify that your phone is rooted. As long as Poot is able to find 'su,' and it will display its path along with a corresponding message stating success.
Step 8:
You'll probably want to download/install a Superuser app from the App Store/Google Play store, so you can give other apps su privs.

Help! I have NO experience with this stuff. I used this method, but after I pressed "Press here to poot" I go the messages "[-] didn't find symbols" and "A demon materialzed while pooting. Error code: 20 su binary was not written." Huh? I tried rebooting and then pressing "Build-in rootcheck," but the message I got back was:
Path is:
"/sbin:/vendor/bin:/system/sbin:/system/bin:/system/xbin"
no su was found in $PATH
Any idea what this means? I'm so clueless.

Pda net works on mine but they will shut your data off till the next pay period if you use it very much they must be able to still tell its a computer some how even though it still its supposed to go through your phones browser. I don't even use it anymore. The version I have I bought before it was on playstore I imagine they are the same but you have to install it on the computer to and have the drivers for the phone.
why wont the touch screen work on my lg lgl75c

Fixing the unbrickable LG L9 [for the untechnical]

Let me just start by saying I am not technical and the persons who devised the methods will be credited properly as they helped me immensely and saved me an RMA to LG for stupid flashing error on my part.
If your phone is totally black and won't boot there's a chance that there's a problem with your bootloader assuming you didn't physically damage your phone and this is the result of improperly flashing the phone or some other software problem
Phone can be fixed in 4 easy steps and to save yourself time the next post will provide credit and links for the following 4 easy steps.
1.) Run the p769 boot loader script that _____ made this will get you into Software Recovery Mode after you run it with the USB cable attached to the phone (assumes you have the LG Unified Drivers installed) You can get into Software Recovery Mode by holding the Volume Up + button while you power on the device
2.) Flash the phone with the correct KDZ for the file and you can also root the device using the Lelus Cmahendra root method which involves swapping a bin file during flashing the phone (don't forget to follow their awesome tutorial on how to edit your hosts file, run the https appication, and don't forget you need to run Lelus' script which copies the superuser.apk file to the phone before you flash the phone *i skipped this step my first time and wasted time*
If your phone boots and everything is peachy - awesome! 3/4) If your touch screen is wacky like mine was then you will have to follow
Lelus' guide to using adb to replace the touchscreen firmware on your device
will edit post for clarity and to credit people and put in links (don't know how just yet) but knowing these steps in order like this is super time saving
flash v10g on v10g
Hi OP,
Sounds like you have been through a lot. I'm noob here and have searched for few hours couldn't find a solution.
I just hard-reset my P769. It is on v10g version. I was on a rooted v10g. I was trying to update to JB OTA. But after the download, the update process always fails (3 times) with the Android drop dead then the phone restart to v10g. Out of desperation, I did hard reset and hope to download JB update. Now I found my wifi stopped working besides root lost.
my wifi constantly on "obtaining IP address", I have reboot my router (WPA) several times no luck. I tried to connect the wifi at work (WEB), same "obtaining IP address" loop. the WiFi status icon on the top Status Bar is gone too. But I can still turn on and off the through Settings.
My question for you is have experienced this problem? any suggestions?
I'm about to flash v10g. just downloaded a clean version. Can I flash a new v10g on existing v10g? will this clean up all the system data/settings.
I'm suspecting the old DHCP binding information is cached in the phone. But I lost root have no way to clean up the cache data.
Thanks

I can vouch for that zip file. The small server is rerouting traffic so it behaves like malware in that sense. It's 100% clean though disable AV or add it as an exception. Or use this https://www.dropbox.com/s/9v1gne55cm5f04a/OfflineFlash.zip?m It uses apache to reroute the traffic from the LG software. Also you can just go thru the steps. 1. opens host file with admin permissions. 2. starts the server. 3 etc.
This is what I personally use works 100% of the time no matter what machine I'm using or the location of the folder its pretty nice.
Great! I disabled the AV then read cmahendra's instructions 3 times:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
1st I flashed a new v10g, this is a t-mobil clean version. I tested the WiFi, no more "Obtaining IP address.." loop. "Obtaining IP address.." loop problem is totally fixed. WiFi connected to the AP instantly. I believe my first failed JB update messed up the WiFi system files so even the hard reset won't do anything. Writing this is to help some other people may experience the same problem and search for solutions. I had searched 3 days in row, almost every corner of the internet but couldn't find any viable solutions.
2nd, I cleared up couple of times of the Google Services Framework. then received the OTA v20d update.
I'm happy and dandy now on JB. I'll later root it when I have break.
Thanks OP for your help and guidance:good:. Learned a lot Android in the last few days.

[Q] Unable to root LG E400 after update

Hi,
I updated my LG E400's firmware from 10J to 10L last with PC Sync. After upgrading the root was still intact. SuperUser still installed, though I had to install Lucky Patcher and had to select Patch to Android for the Android Market again. However, when I tapped About phone in Settings, there was an error and a force close. I looked up the LG firmware site and downloaded the 10L firmware and updated with KDZ updater. The problem started right after that.
I have not been able to root with any ninja script, doomlord script, superoneclick. I have tried reverting to an older firmware (the original version 10J cannot be downloaded) 10D or 10I I think, but got the same error while trying to root. Finally, I tried the "without computer" means of rooting like framaroot and Exynosabuse but none worked. So here I have a fine phone with the latest firmware but with all crap like the LG Keyboard and Google Search, Remote Talk, Play Book, Weather and stuff that I can't get rid off. Also, I can't install Link2SD to increase internal memory. Any suggestions??
Regards,
Sam

Unable to root phone after firmware update
Ok..Update my friend..The tool that you had provided was already tried by me. I had LG drivers version 3.10 whereas your link gave me the LG drivers version 3.7. Anyway, I thought maybe a previous version of the drivers will work and uninstalled the updated drivers and installed your drivers. But I get the same error. My phone is getting detected fine by the computer. I think this is something more complex. Let me know if you know anything more than what is already out there from Rootlord, Ninja site, framastor, gingerbreak. Nothing has worked so far. I have even tried degrading the firmware version to 10D but even that did not work so I flashed the current version 10L again.

Sam.

Hi Azithro,
Oh, I've been so stupid. The answer was staring at my face. I have tried all the tools you have mentioned above (maybe not the last one) but finally I realized that the solution is much simpler than that. I simply ran the spectrum rooting software for LG E400 as Administrator in my Win 7 PC and the phone was rooted in 2 mins. After fighting for root from last Friday, the easy solution almost made me fall off my chair. Stay well bro and keep helping like you do.

[Guide] [VS985] Flash Back To Stock - KDZ Method

Updated 2/3/16 Master Download Link Added at Bottom of This Post For All Old and Current KDZ's
This method is confirmed working 100% for devices running 10b/11c/12b/23abc regardless of root/unlock state. While the .tot method is also working on Windows 7, users with Windows 8.1 are having difficulty using that method. Myself and @autoprime obtained a 10b KDZ file that has solved the issue for +10b updaters that couldn't flash back to 10b, so please send him some love for his help and for hosting the file on Team Codefire's servers for all to download. A big shout out to @quangnhut123 for creating the super sweet modified LG KDZ Flash Tool 2014 that makes KDZ flashing an absolute breeze!! He deserves some love as the previous KDZ flashing methods were anything but fun - especially on Windows 8. And another shout out to @deathsquad737 for initially testing the method for our device.
-Please this post and second post FULLY before asking questions!
-First remove any of the .tot flashing tools/programs that you may have already installed as they will conflict with the KDZ flashing tool.
-Download and install the latest LG drivers for your phone here (FYI I am linking the LG site directly instead of the file to ensure that you download the current up-to-date drivers): http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-VS985-Metallic-Black
-Download the VS985 10b KDZ: Downloads Located Below
-Download the LG Flash Tool 2014 from this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190 and be sure to thank @quangnhut123 for his efforts. Also read that thread a bit so you understand how to fully use the tool exactly, but I will outline the process below.
-Extract the .zip folder to wherever you wish to keep it (desktop, downloads, etc).
-Copy the 10b KDZ file (or whatever KDZ your flashing) into the LG Flash Tool folder
-Power off your phone completely, hold volume up, plug in the usb cable, wait for any drivers to load, and you should then be in Download Mode
-Run LGFlashTool2014.exe (you may need to run as administer as its not an installed program, rather an executed one from wherever you saved the folder).
-You may need to install Visual C++ Runtime Library. If so, refer to the LG Flash Tool thread for more info on obtaining that.
-Select CDMA as your type
-Select Diag as your phone mode
-Select your KDZ file that you copied or pasted into the folder
-Choose the option of CSE Flash (this is a full wipe, you will lose your data). Do not choose Normal Flash when performing a downgrade, nothing good will come from doing that!! Another screen will open, just leave everything the way it is.
-Click the Start button and yet another window will appear showing a language selection screen. Just leave everything the way it is as Korean and hit OK. Don't worry, the tool is already set to flash in English.
-Wait until the Flash is done 100% and unplug/reboot... and that's it - now enjoy your corrected mistake and stop taking OTA's!!!
KDZ files rock, and are nice and easy to flash. No separate DLL files or changing ports either with the tool linked. If any other KDZ files become available in the future I will add them to this post along with any tool or flashing method changes. This thread will be solely kept for KDZ flashing for the VS985. I will also help as much as I can if you run into trouble, though I am not a Windows expert and actually only boot into it when I have to run programs like this....Linux MInt FTW!!

New download link to all KDZ files thanks to @roirraW "edor" ehT https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=35484
-For reference, here's @ins5736 thread for restoring using the .tot method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/restore-verizon-to-stock-t2827878 .
-Also there are reports of the tool deleting the KDZ you copied to the Flash Tool folder after the flash. I cannot confirm this, as it did not happen to me, but to be safe make sure you copy the file to the folder instead of pasting it so that you don't have to re-download the file for future use.
-Please note that the KDZ file we have is build # 10B.01, while the .tot file available is build # 10b.03. The only difference between the 2 files is that the .03 build is the actual released build that shipped with the phone, while the .01 kdz build was obviously a pre-released build. Its most likely some minor last minute changes/bloat added. We can't find any noticeable differences between the 2 builds.
-OTA's WILL FAIL USING THE 10b KDZ FILE WE HAVE due to a signing error with it being a pre-release. The purpose here is to downgrade, unlock, and flash whatever you want. This is NOT to return to an official stock state. You'll need to use the .tot file or the official LG Flash Tool that downloads the current build automatically in order to be in an official "stock" state. The 12b kdz is official and will allow OTA's
*Error Update* So with this leaked LP image, I've been playing with kdz'ing quite a bit and with a new Windows install I got to experience a few of the issues being reported by others that I have never seen, along with trying to troubleshoot some others. Did I manage to fix them easily you ask?? Hell yeah!
USB Disconnected Issue: This is a driver issue. Very easy fix, just download the latest Verizon drivers from the link I posted above and install them without phone plugged in. Power off phone, hold up, plug into usb and WAIT for download mode drivers to install (as stated several times in this thread). Click the balloon to watch the progress, this took about 10min on an i5/ssd machine - be patient. This is the predominant issue I think people are having. The drivers while in download mode are:
-USB Composite Device
-LGE Android phone or LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Serial Port COM5 (this is the important one)
-CDC Serial or LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Modem (this will fail if you are on a rom with certain VZW items removed - not a problem, its not needed)
-CDC ECM LGE AndroidNet for VZW NDIS Ethernet Adapter
If driver install fails, manually update them by pointing windows to the driver file you downloaded. I am not going any further here, use Google.
??????'s In The Field: easy, don't change region or language from Korean as stated in the OP. Leave it alone, it will flash in English I promise you. Result = all fields readable in English while running
Connection To Server Failed: Simple, ignore the window. Just drag it away, but don't close it. This is an offline hack originally indented to run online, deal with the window!
Progress Bar: The tool will initially analyze the phone, then when flashing starts, pay attention to the phone screen which will now say COM5. The blue progress bar on the phone is the important one. At around 80% on the tool screen, the phone will reboot. The flash is over and the bar will continue to progress into the 99% while rebooting - then the program will crash. You can disconnect now, you've been successful.
Thanks for the help and the new guide

Sounds like your linking the file path instead of directly copying the file right into the folder. Also try checking the file md5 with this one for the 10b kdz file: d228ba692ef0c4704cba0b00fad8b8ce
Don't Forget To Remove Previous LG FlashTool
When I first tried the method I was receiving a message "Path is too long or file problem". So I read through the instructions again. I failed to remove the previous LG FlashTool I was using. Once I uninstalled that program, everything went through without a problem. Thanks annoyingduck!!
I keep getting this and I installed all drivers. Any ideas? Thanks

Some basics to check first:
-Were you in download mode before executing the program?
-When you initialized download mode, did you wait to allow the download mode drivers to load before hitting start?
-Were all steps followed?
-Check cable, and try another one (this is very often the cause)
-Change usb port
-Don't use a 3.0 port, use a 2.0
Thanks for this excellent guide, Duck. Very simple to follow, well laid out, etc. I haven't actually done it yet, but I've got everything in place to do so (the flash tool, the KDZ file in the folder, etc.)
I assume once the downgrade is successful, just reroot with Stump, etc and wait for updates via the community?
Will future updates be available via this flash tool, or will they have to be flashed via TWRP? Sorry, I'm just now getting used to the LG G3 dev community, coming from an old GNEX.
Thanks!
continued error when trying ota
I have a problem. I was originally rooted without a custom recovery. I decided to try the ota and got the error message when trying to install. I then flashed this method (kdz) and got back to stock. I rerooted via stump and tried the ota again, failure. I then rewiped and kdz again, this time I did not root. Tried the ota again, no dice.
Any thought? I can flash the kdz fine and get phone to factory 10b but once I try to install the ota I still get the error.

That's odd... You chose cse flash, not normal correct? Normal would not wipe your device and could definitely be the culprit for the ota failing. While cse mode is a complete wipe prior to flashing.
Correct. I did cse, full wipe. I dont know what's going on. I tried atleast 10 times from scratch. I still cant get the ota to install.

After using the method here to downgrade back to 10b and root. I too wasn't able to then S/W update to 11c using survival mode in SuperSU. I perform the OP procedures again and this time didn't root and still wasn't able to S/W update, kept getting error. So I used ---> [GUIDE][HOW TO][VS985] Restore Verizon to Stock to go all the way back. I'm now able to S/W update to 11c and keep root with survival mode set in SuperSU. I most humbly say that there may be a very slight issue with maybe the files here. I truly do appreciate the ability to return to 10b using this method after updating in the first place!
Thanks, ill try the other method and report back. wish me luck. Either way, a huge thanks to duck for the easy way to rerturn. I just wish kdz worked for future ota. It may be a file issue allowing us to revert to 10b but not then allowing future updates.
Use the kdz method then factory reset the device and see if that works.
I tried that. No dice.

Sorry, I missed this question. Yes, any future kdz's that become available will be updated here, along with any changes in flashing methods. Though it's pretty hard to beat the current tool that's available.
And yes, the idea here is to downgrade to 10b and be able to root, unlock, and flash anything you want. Still unclear as to why some want to take the 11c ota, but that's for another thread. The kdz method here is working where the tot was failing for some, and I personally think it's faster and easier to do than the tot method.
The third step might be clarified. Do you mean something like, "Power off your phone completely, then turn power on while also holding the volume up button..."?

[VK810.4G] [altev] OTAs, .IMGs and KDZs, oh my (and one 22B TOT too) updated 4-6-2016

Thanks to everyone over the past almost six years who helped me get to the point where I am so far. Glad to help others in what ways I can.
Thanks to @bweN diorD for his Verizon LG G3 VS985 repository. Inspired me to do this for the VK810.4G, although it took me six months of considering doing it before I was motivated enough to.
Thanks to @Papay346 for purchasing and testing the 22B_00 TOT file from a Chinese website, and for sharing it with us! His original post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66089535&postcount=6.
I intend this as a repository for all OTA, .img, KDZ and TOT files relating to each official (and leaks if we ever find any, which will be indicated as unofficial/leak/whatever) LG release. If not noted otherwise, all files are official (unaltered from the official stock release).
The latest files will always be at the top with the oldest always at the bottom.
All downloads are available in my VK810.4G section on Android File Host in the OTA, IMG or KDZ and TOT subfolder. Below is merely a list of what's available there. If you don't know what to do with these, you don't need them.

Hi! The page I linked to for [URL=" Flash Tool 2014 - Tools Offline KDZ Flash Rom for LG[/URL] has the directions and screenshots. I know the language is in Vietnamese. Google Chrome (at least on the PC, but I believe on Android too) will translate the word directions closely enough, and for what doesn't get translated because it's text in a picture won't matter because the screenshots make it pretty clear what to do. It's pretty easy, I've done it a couple of times.
I'm not seeing the link for the KDZ file on the page. I used the translate option but maybe I'm blind. I looked around and found this:

Thanks. So basically just to dumb it out. What I should be doing is:
Install the LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN311AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.11.3.exe file.
Download and install the LG Flash Tool 2014.zip file.
Which files get copied into the KDZ 2014 LG Flash Tool folder?
Connect the phone to the computer. (Are we supposed to use ethernet mode ?)
LGFlashTool2014.exe
Does that sound right? Sorry for the dumb questions. I've set my G2 back a ton of times using the Verizon only method. I've never done it with the tablet and it seems like it's done differently.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Just going by memory at the moment - I'm at work so I have to hurry. Yes, it all sounds right except the driver. If I remember correctly, the Verizon variant of the G3 uses a different set of drivers, I think it's mentioned on that LGFlashTool2014 page, right after it mentions the one you said. They're probably saying to copy the KDZ to the flash tool folder, but I think you can just browse to wherever you have it on the same PC from the tool anyway.
Yes, ethernet mode.

It was flawless. The only thing is that I did the CSE flash and I was able to root but I'm not sure how to get TWRP back. I tried following the thread but ran into issues. I can't remember what it was. So basically I did it twice and now I am fully stock unrooted.

That's good to hear!
To confirm that your steps of trying to root and put TWRP back on are the same as what I think:
1. Turn BOTH USB Debugging and (install from) Unknown Sources on.
2. Install and run Stump.apk (turn volume all the way down) and choose to brute force. Might take 10-20 minutes.
3. When Stump reports success, reboot when prompted, install SuperSU from the Play store, run SuperSU, install binaries and reboot again.
4. If it is or ever will be your intention for USB Debugging to stay on (for use with Titanium Backup, etc) between reboots, Stump creates a quirk where it doesn't stay selected between reboots. A known fix is to (if I remember correctly) plug the tablet into your PC, select Camera (PTP) mode, then re-select Media sync (MTP) mode. You might or might not have to already have USB Debugging re-checked during this - *shrug*.
5. While on the subject of Titanium Backup, I find that on recent versions of SuperSU (since it's been made Lollipop compatible and includes the "Mount namespace separation" option and it's checked by default), that I have to de-select "Mount namespace separation" in SuperSU's settings in order for Titanium Backup to work for restoring - perhaps backing up or other things as well. Reboot after changing that option in SuperSU.
6. Follow the directions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726707 to the letter, using the extracted zip of TWRP v2.7.0.1, then flashing 2.7.0.2 from 2.7.0.1 once booted into it.
Note that by "terminal", if I remember right, they mean the Terminal app on the rooted tablet - not Terminal under Linux or Command/PowerShell under Windows. Or it's the other way around, I really haven't done it quite enough times but I think I recall that it wasn't as convenient since I couldn't as easily copy and paste the necessary commands. Sorry for vagueness! Make sure USB Debugging is turned on for this, too.

Thank you. You've been extremely helpful with this. For step 6, are you talking about the instructions over at this thread?

I thought that was only for 4.2.2.

You're welcome and thank you!
It's what I've used to put TWRP on, with 4.4.2 loaded, and make backups and restores.

I can confirm that the trick worked as noted in the VIET website. Thanks again.

I must be the only person who cannot understand the Vietnamese website....even when translated. I've attached images of what I get from Google, once translated. Yes, it's English, but it makes no sense. Any help would be appreciated.

You can have the phone already in Download mode and attached when you start the LG Mobile 2014 tool. Personally (if the Android system is working), I leave the phone fully on and plug it into the PC. After all drivers load, I make sure the USB connection is set to MTP, or on 10B set it to Internet.
When you start the flash process in the tool, it'll reboot the phone into Download mode itself. Saves me some finger-wrangling plus coming from the Samsung Galaxy S2 & S3, I like to keep my presses of the power button to a minimum (because they would go bad on the Galaxy S2 & S3).
Leave all the settings exactly as pictured. CSE flash is what you want almost all the time. It's a complete wipe. Normal is like a dirty flash. If you're ever downgrading from a newer version to older version, you DEFINITELY want CSE, but you almost always want CSE anyway. Make a copy of the KDZ file and put it in the folder you extracted LG Mobile 2014 into. Use the button to the right on the first dialog to direct it to the KDZ file you just put in there.
On the screen with the language. Don't believe any instructions that say to leave it to Korean and that it'll still come out English. It doesn't. That doesn't affect actually flashing the phone but it's nice to understand the status messages, so change them appropriately. The rest is just as pictured.
If you have any specific questions beyond that, please ask.
VK810.4G altev Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 Stock 4.4.2 24A (4/5/2015) KDZ file
Added news that the build 24A KDZ file is available at my AFH link for posterity or at one of the two sources I downloaded it from, listed in the OP.
Thanks for always posting about the VK810. I feel like it gets no love!
