I have flashed my Sprint Note 3 to Boost Mobile and can't get native voicemail notifications to work. I know there is a way to get it to work because the guy at a local shop wants to charge me $75 bucks to do it. I'm currently running stock/rooted 4.3 rom (N900PVPUBMJ4) baseband. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Are you referring to the visual voice mail app?

I am just trying to get notifications right now as I have no idea when someone had left a message. Lol

Android Version
Straight talk doesnt support the version of android that the dna is set up with which is 4.2.2 the newest version of android that straightalk supports is 4.1 or 4.1.1 could be worth suggestion ST CSR but probably wouldnt do much good lol I also have the same issue though I have 2 htc dna on straight talk unable to send mms but I also saved over $100 on my mobile bill so as far as mms I tjink ill be perfectly fine with out it considering I only ppay $90 a month for both phones. Wish you all luck if I figure anything out ill be sure to post.
I have my note 2 rooted and currently on the net10 service. My phone got turned off from Verizon. I have all of my features data,MMS,phone. Only when I am on 4.2.2 roms and below. As soon as I hop to 4.3 things start going wrong. Like no texting. I'm just wondering if anyone can relate to this and give me a idea of what I should do. I had to have tried every APN out there, so o turn to my peers for advice :3

When I was messing around with a prepaid SIM I know I also had troubles with 4.3. Try getting the build.prop from a TMobile or ATT Note 2 AOSP ROM and using that over top of what you currently have.

So basically use a at&t or tmobile ROM instead of a Verizon? Would that work all the same?

No just the build prop

I use my i605 on a GSM network as well. I had issues with 4.3 working properly so what i did was this..
I know your problems might be different but maybe this might help and i s a simple build prop edit
Hälftebyte said:
Well I stopped being lazy and played around with some build.prop edits and have now gotten back USSD code support.
For the few like me who may be using their VZW Note 2 on a GSM network, change this line to get back USSD code support
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
to
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0

Installing an ATT rom worked for me as well.. not sure GPS works though. Didn't try
I have no idea about build props. But I'll definitely give a att it T-Mobile ROM a shot

I have T-Mobile and my group messaging is not working.. No matter if i use the stock app or Google hangouts..
The actual option is missing in Google hangouts under settings, sms, and then right under advanced settings it should show something like Group messaging or something..
I called samsung and they said it was the carrier and then i called tmobile and they said to come into the store to trade it out for a different one.
Can anyone with Tmobile send group messages with their GS5?
Thanks
I've been using it all day, I wonder why it's not there for you or working for you

Same problem here. My buddy has an AT&T s5 that works fine. Is it a phone problem? Or.... Cuz I'm already rooted. Stock rooted. Nothing changed.

Have you tried factory resetting? I've heard others with this problem doing that and having the group messaging option come back.

I figured it out.. It was the SIM card from T-mobile..
I went into the corp store and they gave me a new phone, that didnt fix it.
I asked if we could try a new SIM.. the guy was saying that wasnt the issue. I insisted.. After activating the new sim and rebooting the phone, it was fixed.. Weird huh.
Verizon's visual voice mail is giving me lots of problems on the G3. Well actually the same problems after the kitkat update on the G2 too. 50% of the time I get a no data connection error and have to refresh. That or turn off wifi for a while which seems to handle it better. It's a real nuisance. Anyone else see anything like this? I'm thinking it's a combination of Kitkat and Verizon.
Yes. It's horrible. Same on Droid Maxx.
My solution is perfect. Use youmail visual voicemail. And use the app better youmail. It avoids the annoying contact sync that youmail uses. And you can change every setting and then some.
The only feature that doesn't work is, if you integrate the voicemail in your call log, it will show up but you can't hit play. But if you have a notification of a missed voicemail it will play from there just fine.
Highly recommend. Worth the cost.

thx, but the reviews seem to sketchy and really Verizon should fix this.
The reviews are good from my friends and family. Just refund it if you don't like it. Trust me messages never expire

They also don't say how much it is on the play site. Is it a monthly service or one time charge?
One time charge for the app. 4.99 I think. It's worth it. No annoying contact sync that youmail app has.

I'm having the same issue.. Just happened to check voice-mail noticed I hadn't received any lately, and had freaking 8 or 9 unread from almost 2 weeks ago... Come on big red not cool.... I don't have visual voice-mail just regular still not receiving them...thinks it's time to give verizon a call

The voice mail notifications seem to clear and not return whereas on my s3 cleared voice mail notifications would come back.
To me it is the worst thing about the phone. It's almost unusable. How can it be so hard to manage voice mail? This is the kind of stuff that makes me re-think iphones as an option. . . . nah.. not yet.
Seriously, it is a hand off issue I think. This should just silently fail until it gets a good enough signal. It's just amazingly annoying otherwise.
If I put in my T-Mobile sim and install their visual voicemail, it works great. Same with Cricket.

Google Voice.
By the way, I tried that Youtalk app and it was the worst piece of S I have ever tried to use. It didn't work at all. I'll just suffer through the missed data connections of the Verizon app.
Why not use Google voice?

It's a work phone and I don't want to use Google voice. I want Verizon voicemail to work correctly. If it can't work on wifi, then it should ignore wifi. It doesn't. verizon needs to fix this to work better.

I mean we are on an android OS... The beauty of android is that if your voicemail app isn't working you have tons of options in the play store for visual voicemail. I would recommend YouMail..best visual voicemail out there IMO..

Amen to youmail! Love using it with better youmail app to avoid annoying contact sync and gain extra features. Disappointed that vm call log integration doesn't work well though.
