Ok,so guys,I know this might not be the place to ask such questions,but I m gonna need all the help i can get. READ CAREFULLY:
I have a phone named Micromax Canvas HD A116 . I live in India.So one night,it was raining,and me and my friend were on a scooty,and I was wearing pajamas which had short pockets.I kept my phone in the pocket,and I didn t realize when we were driving the scooty,my phone had fallen down from my pocket onto the slightly wet road.It was drizzling,no heavy showers but still.I went and picked my phone up,and wiped the water off it and we went home.
Now,I plugged it in for charging as usual,but it didn t charge,nor did it show the lightning charging symbol. I tinkered around the settings of my phone and finally got it to charge.
But now I have a new problem: My phone won t connect to my pc via usb cable. When my phone s switched off and I connect it,my pc makes the connecting sound (in Windows 8.1 Pro)
But when I switch my phone on and connect,it doesn t connect and my pc doesn t make any sound or detect it. I have formatted my phone,but still no luck. Any help except getting a new phone? Please?

Sorry don't know if this has been solved already. I am a noob. When I used to connect to my pc via usb cable a menu used to drop down on my phone asking me whether I wanted to mount, charge, etc. Now nothing drops down and my phone just charges. I am extremely frustrated because I want to transfer videos back and fourth. I went into my phone settings where it says connect to pc and tried stuff there also but nothing. Please help someone. I have not rooted or did anything to my phone.
Go to settings, connect to pc. Look if ask me was unchecked. You can also change your default connection type there.

Try another USB port on your PC. Also you might want to try another cable if you have one. I had a bad cable one time and had a similar problem.
Hey thanks alot it was the cable. I don't know how my cable just went bad. Its the original htc cable that comes with the phone. It still charges though also. Do u know why this happened?
Since i got my atrix i am dealing with a very weired issue, everytime with the new android installation everythings work out of box but after using it,1-2 days after if i want to charge my phone i cant,atrix doesnt recognize at all as same goes to the pc connection as usb doesnt recongnize at all.But if i reformat and install a new android then everything works until i start to use and then the same case again.
Most weired thing is i own a ipad too and if i use the usb cable on the ipad charger i can charge my atrix.I m really confuse whats going on on my atrix.if someone has any solution or any idea i will be greatfull.
Hi, my phone just charges when I connect to any PC, it doesn't detect it on the system and even on the phone. I tried to check and uncheck the usb debugging and the logo came back on the phone (but still nothing in the PC). And now whenever i plug it in the usb debug mode comes and when I try to use mass storage option it allows but PC dosnt respond in a matter of seconds it goes away. My friend had flashed my phone with the stock rom 4.2.1 from XDA itself last year sometime in november and after that it has been great. I believed it was a cable fault so I showed it to a repair shop where the guys checkd with their PC and a new cable and none of their PCs detected it, even the OTG cable they tried wasn't detected on the phone. They say its an error in the Jack which can be repaired in a couple of hours for Rs 250. I have no problem in doing that but I don't know if its a jack error or something inside my phone (some sort of setting) causing it. Please help
Hey guyz i got htc evo 3D everything runs good.but the main problem im facing is that its not recognized by my pc or any other pc.my frnd have the same phone and its is connecting without any tension but my phone doesn't appears on device manager in the same pc... i've replaced/repaired the usb port but still no good. on charger its showing charging (usb) and on pc as well.. wtf is wrong with the phone. its not in warranty . what to do .what could be the problem. help guys its urgent.
Have you tried different usb cable? Does the cable work with the other phone? Sound like something wrong with the data lines. Which should be pin 2 and 3, not sure have to check pinout.
yes i've checked everything.. even replaced the usb port. my frnd have the same phone. his phone is connecting with the same data cable and same pc but mine not..right now i have connected my data cable to pc. and on phone it is showing in disk drive mod and on notification bar it is showing a usb sign.but on pc .nothing.. what to do...

Bought a Vibe Z K910 from China 2 months ago and I'm happy with it. But last week something weird happened and I cannot connect phone to PC with cable. That is not a problem of driver; neither PC nor phone react when I connect the USB cable. But it charges the battery on the other hand. Another significiant weird stuff is that I cannot open USB PC connection (Media device/USB / ....) from settings menu. The page comes and goes in 1/2 seconds each time... BTW, I'm running VIBEUI_v2.0_1433_4_st_k910_baralajbi rom..
My question is that what you guys think if this is a software problem or hardware (broken solder or something) ??? Should I try factory reset or is there any other way to fix it because I dont wanna try to setup all apps.
