Offline flashing for my phone. - Nokia Lumia 920

Hi folks, first of all, I'm Cuban. Sorry in advance for my expressions, I will be as clear as possible as you can. I used Windows Phone Recovery Tool to back to 8.1 for 10 preview. The download of the installation was left in a folder called "LumiaOS" (which had previously created and configured to be stored there). The download finished but it gave me an error later and asks me to download again. Is possible to putting on that ROM with other software? Thanks for the answer in advance directly possible and attention.

try Nokia (Lumia) Software Recovery Tool

i like this more than WPRT... also from settings you can manage download location and firmware files

[Q] Camera Flash is not working ?!

HI everyone,
I bought a HTC HD2 some days ago, and there was win mobile 6.5 and android 2.2 installed. THere were many problem on the Android OS, it was very slow, the auto-rotate function didnt work, the "water scale" didnt also work correctly etc. Win Mobile seemed to work properly...
Today, I installed android 2.2 on my storage card and everything is working fine so far. Of course, WIN MOBILE is on my phones memory. Before installing it, the phone had problems with the flashlight (dual flash), simply, it did not work. Now, it is also not working, neither under WIN Mobile nor ANDROID.
How can I check that it is a hardware failure ? Or maybe its ROM or something ?
Thank you
Please, some idea ?
What level is the battery at? As I think thart below 20% the flash stops working.
What happens in WinMo when you run the camera and select flash always on and then take a picture?
THanx for the response, I really need some help.
Under WinMo occurs the same problem, the flash is not working even if I set it to AUTO/ON/OFF.
I also considered that the image quality after taking a picture and comparing it to my friends phone, is more bad than his one
PLEASE, someone help ?
Anyone has an idea ?

Hi There
I'm not aware of any "diagnostics" modes to test hardware on the device but the first thing I would do from within Winmo is install a Torch App and try and use the torch, if the Torch app initialises the flash on the back of the phone then you know it's a OS fault whereas, if it doesn't you know it's a hardware fault with the flash module itself on the phone
Here's a link to TorchButton
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581382
Let us know how you get on
Thank You very much for the reply.
But I act as a noob.
I copied the whole unrar-ed folder to my SD and to phone, in both ways, when I try to start any of those files it says:
There is no application associated with ... Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.
How to run the application ?
Can someone just download the TORCH and explain to me how to install it
Would be very very thankful.
Can someone just explain me how to install or whatever the torch on my HD2 WIN Mobile 6.5.
THanx
anyone ?
thx
Do not unpack (unzip, unRAR) the file. Just copy it to your phone (or SD card). Use the phone's file explorer and find the file. click on it, and it will install.
.cab files are cabinet files, they pack other files inside them, just like zip files - but they are used in both Windows (the computer o/s) and the WinMo o/s as a unpack and install file (obviously the file should only be run in the desired o/s).
Thank You fred_up,
I barely did it, but the flash is still now working.
I hope its only the flex cable which is not too expensive, about 10 USD !?

[Q] Help! - Accidentally deleted system UI on root, android 4.1

Ok, so I rooted the Huawei Ascend Y300, and with my new-found power i for some reason decided it was a good idea to delete the system UI...
So now the screen is just black, I can't access anything and it keeps coming up with "systemUI has stopped responding".
I tried downloading Huawei's official firmware from their website, and flashed the device, but whilst installing it said "update error" and wouldn't install it.
Any ideas on what I can do? Or have I broken it for good?
You have activated USB Debugging? If so, you need Android SDK, and the missing file (unpack the official firmware to find it), so you can copy it using adb (included in the Android SDK, tell me if you need more detailed info).

I had the USB Debugged, and just now i have sent nova launcher to the phone to get into it, but it's now telling me settings isn't installed and i cant access the task bar.
Also when i downloaded the pack from huawei, it just came with the file "UPDATE.APP"
Check if you can open the Update package using some program (winrar, 7zip), otherwise you'll need to search for the file.

Ok, so it won't let me open the file as a zip, and I'm not entirely sure what file I'm meant to be looking for. Am i looking for system UI because thats the one with the error? and if so how would i go around getting it on the device?
Do you know if theres a way to completely reinstall android onto the phone?
System UI file
Hey
Sorry to confuse you lol oxymoronic happens to be talking about my phone anyways we think we have the problem nearly sorted but we now need a system UI APK file for the OS and we can find one any chance you know where to get one?
I hope this helps someone with a similar issue as the post is old.. I had deleted my xperia ui sometime back so each time the phone booted , it went to black with "Ui has stopped'. I could swipe down and go to settings.. Since i had formatted the phone before that there was no account linked to it.. I added my gmail account and sent myself a mail with nova launcher prime as an attachment.. As soon as the phone notified me of my mail, i downloaded the nova launcher apk and installed it.. Works fine now..
Hope this helps..
I rooted my asus zenfone 5 and by mistake I uninstalled my system ui it came like that the system ui is not responding so I switched it of and factory reseted the phone and when I switched it on I can see a black screen and I cannot change my phone'sv wallpaper I cannot see the task bar or the status bar or the notification bar and I also cannot see my recent apps. WHAT TO DO NOW ???
My phone doesnt show and home button recent button and the notification shade

I SOLVED IT *****! HERE'S HOW I DID [email protected]@@
I accidentally deleted com.android.systemui on my phone. Version KitKat 4.4.2.
STEP 1. HAVE AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF THE PHONE READY. HAVE THE SAME PHONE READY. LUCKILY I HAD ANOTHER PHONE OF THE SAME MODEL. GO TO A PHONE SHOP OR SOMETHING.
IT WILL HAVE THE SAME com.android.systemui .
STEP 2. INSTALL NOVA LAUNCHER OR SOME SORT OF LAUNCHER ON THE PHONE MISSING THE FILE, SO YOU CAN LOAD THE PHONE AND BE ABLE TO SEE IT!
STEP 3. INSTALL TITANIUM BACKUP ON BOTH PHONES. ROOT IT AND USB DEBUG IT BEFOREHAND.
STEP 4. ON THE BACK UP PHONE, OPEN UP TITANIUM BACKUP AND CLICK ON BACKUP/RESTORE ON THE UPPER TABS AND GO TO com.android.systemui. BACK THE **** UP THE FILE.
STEP 5. CONNECT IT TO THE COMPUTER, AND GO TO YOUR PHONE AND COPY WHAT'S INSIDE THE "TitaniumBackup" FOLDER.
STEP 6. CONNECT THE ****ED UP PHONE TO YOUR COMPUTER AND PASTE THE CONTENTS OF "TitaniumBackup" FOLDER (WHICH ARE com.android.systemui FILES) IN THE ****ED UP PHONE'S "TitanumBackup" FOLDER.
STEP 7. DISCONNECT EVERYTHING, EXIT OUT OF EVERYTHING, AND RESTART THE PHONES. GO TO YOUR ****ED UP PHONE, CLICK ON AND OPEN UP THE TITANIUM BACKUP, FIND com.android.systemui AND RESTORE IT!
STEP 8. ENJOY YOUR PHONE.
NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO FORMAT IT , RESET IT, REINSTALL A FOREIGN ROM, OR DEBUG IT USING ADB OR SDK, AND ALL OTHER COMPLICATED **** FLOATING AROUND, RISKING LOSING ALL OF YOUR DATA. JUST GO A LITTLE CREATIVE.
IF IT WAS OF ANY HELP TO YOU OR YOU ACTUALLY RECOUPED YOUR DATA BECAUSE OF ME, AND YOUR PHONE DATA WAS OF ANY WORTH TO YOU, PROBABLY WORTH MORE THAN $100, PLEASE SEND ME SOME APPRECIATION PREFERRABLY OVER $100, TO MY PAYPAL. THE EMAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected]

[Q] My Guophone I9600 android 4.2.1 is fully bricked. can someone help me, please?

Hello,
I am contacting you to see if someone can help me.
I have a Chinese phone. It is a Guophone i9600, MT6589 CPU quad core 1.2 GHz with 1 GB RAM.
This week it began to continuously display messages “memory full” and it told me to uninstall applications. I looked in settings options and it really showed internal memory was fully occupied ... when it wasn't true. There aren’t no applications installed nor data (including whatsapp app).
I restored the phone to factory defaults and it worked well. Now there was a lot of internal free space. After this, I installed lnk2sd app and I started uninstall applications that came with me smartphone ... but the phone has been bricked.
When I turn it on, it hangs in the original logo GUOPHONE. I don’t have any backup.
My laptop doesn’t recognize it. I have downloaded MT65xx drivers and when I try to connect the smartphone, it tells me not receive reply from the peer (I guess it will be smartphone). Therefore, I can’t use all that solutions that need to connect mi smartphone to my laptop (flash tool, CWM, TWRP, ROM manager ...). I think the only solution is to load a ROM file in ZIP format from the factory recovery menu.
I searched ROMS and I only found one in needrom.com (for Guophone I9602 (I guess you can be the same as mine, i9600)). I've downloaded it from a web page link and a mirror link, and one is a single file with img extension and the other one is a .rar. I have unzipped it and it has a few files with extension tar and img. I've tried everything, zip them, unzip them, renamed file extension... and nothing have worked.
I have also tried to generate a zip with the two img file (I think they're called recovery and boot) as someone said in some websites and it didn’t work. They said I have to include a META_INF folder, but I have no idea where to get it.
I have even located the manufacturer's website, I sent them an e-mail to ask them smartphone`s ROM zip file and they didn’t reply me.
One more thing, I bought two identical phones, one for a friend and one for us. Is there any way to get from me friend’s smartphone a file from ROM ZIP file to use it in our smatphone from recovery menu?
From my friend's phone I have downloaded (in "backup user data" option from original recovery menu) a file with backup extension. But when I try to restore it in me phone, it shows me a checksum error.
Thanks in advance. Excuse my poor English, please.
Best regards

Huawei MediaPad Youth 2 (S7-721u)

This tread is referring to a S7-721u version in Malaysia with Gr8 bundled pre-installed.
Unfortunately, I lost my Gr8 activation code and unable to login to the device anymore after a factory reset. After some research, I have managed to flash it with the original firmware. Yes, I lost me Gr8 code, so I don't have the access to the daily subscription anymore, but I got my Huawei Mediapad back without unwanted pre-installed apps.
I am sharing this guideline so that it would be easier for people who faced the same issue like me. For people already got your Huawei Mediapad, keep your Gr8 code safe and remember where you keep it.
Prepare an microSD card with any storage size larger than 1GB.
Format microSD card.
Download Huawei official release firmware (S7-721u, Android4.3, C232B008, General).
Unzip downloaded firmware.
Delete file “au_temp.cfg” in dload folder.
Copy dload folder with UPDATA.APP in it.
Paste dload folder in your microSD card.
Power Off Huawei Mediapad. Insert microSD card.
Press Power + volume up + volume down keys together. The phone automatically enters the upgrade mode, and then begin the upgrade. Release the keys.
Once the progress bar reaches 100%, the phone will automatically restart. DONE!
What is new version C232B008 or C264B001? My tablet is on C264B001.

How important is it to delete that file. Is that the reason why when i install the update it says "update.app is a invalid package"? Thanks mate.
Hi. I just reinstall the software, but how do I get back my e papers subscriptions?
Is there any costum rom, and i have this tablet locked on one network ,is there a solution to run other network.thanks in advance.
I did all as you said, but now my tablet is completely dead.
Thanks it worked.
Provide the download link for the firmware please?
Thx Sunnysardine, it works for me.
Just to add a bit for my experience.
The process 1 - 8 MUST be followed exactly. I tried putting the update.app w/o the load folder, it did not work
For process 10, it takes a bit of time. the Huawei logo showed up for quite long before it power up to 1st screen. after that, all well. So got to be patient a little bit
Thanks man
I followed ur instructions exactly and it works, nice
If not for this, I would have thrown away my mediapad, it totally not login-able/ unusable without Gr8 code
Thanks again!
it is work for me.. thanks for sharing
Hi there, I found a way to remove GR8 app without installing the update. I found out that due to the device cannot detect the update in my sd card.
1) turn on the Huawei media pad s7-721u, unlock the screen
2) plug in to computer/laptop windows 7,8 or windows 10
3) on the Huawei media pad screen, it will pop up usb setting, select hiSuite usb type option
4) at the andoid setting, please go to about table setting, then enable developer mode by taping 7 times at Build number
5) still at android setting, go to security, make sure your android Screen lock setting is set under Huawei unlock, the go to shortcut setting, need to set to google app and android setting app.
6) install HiSuite to your computer - this is the Huawei official computer device managed software tool
7) install iRoot software to your computer. careful with this installation, it full of bloatware, but don't worry it don't have a virus.
8) run the iRoot and it will root your device. It will restart your Huawei pad multiple times.
9) after it root complete, unlock your device then go to google play ( as your android unlock setting option have the google play as describe in step 5)
10) install System app remover from google play
11) open the app, go to inside the app setting, remove setting Hide core system app
12) go to the main menu of the app remover, under manager, select system app, now you can find gr8 gallery app. Removed that app then restart the device.
13) you will have multiple error in android, just reboot and the error gone. DONE
This is where you can download the firmware

[ROM][DHT v0.1]Windows 10 v10586 ROM for Nokia Lumia 920 (RM-821)

Hey there guys Hope to have a great day .
I made my first Custom ROM for Nokia Lumia 920 (RM-821) . this ROM contains the latest 10586 build I couldn't remember the minor OS version !
This ROM as I said the first custom ROM that I made and maybe it has some problems that I maybe don't know so please send me feedbacks here to work on it.
What is new in this ROM :
-The latest build of W10M
-Pre-Installed of the apps you need (Word, Excel, and etc.)
-The Microsoft Lumia 950XL Ringtones
How to install :
OK, first of all download ROM Parts and extract it somewhere .
better to flash your phone or do a hard reset before flashing this ROM.
download WPInternals and unlock your phone's BootLoader and Enable the Mass Storage Mode.
in WPInternals go to the -> Platform -> Flash -> Flash Separate partition and select the MainOS partition witch is extracted from the rar file .
and then simply flash it
After flash It's recommended to do a hard reset and then setup your phone first login to your ROM and enjoy it.
If you had any problems with the steps take a look at this post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68440016&postcount=54
Thanks @minimog34
I am working to do some registry changes like Pre-Interop unlock and etcetera in next versions of this ROM but guys please let me know what you want
Important : It is my first ROM and it should be risky .

You need to know what changes you are free to do and witch files are editable.
you can't edit and modify whatever you want .
creating custom ROM is really easy but if you what are you doing.
You have to backup your MainOS Partition and then mount the bin file using OSFMount. then you can see conteent and you can edit it.
Hi! Please help me. I can't press button "Flash partions", nothing happens. i took unlock boot. In Flash mode wrote file is very big. I don't know what to do.

No problem. So, what I did? After Successful Unlock bootloader I switch to Mass Storage. Then My laptop find new disk with Main OS. I think it's good. Then I choose your Main OS, and tap "Flash partitions". (as picture). Many clicks don't help. Nothing... Install Windows 10 it's important for me.

I see this problem too. The size of the parition is too big for 'main OS'
Flash Partitions nothing happens with only Main OS selected
hi,
I have downloaded all three parts of Main OS and extracted to a separate folder.
Lumia 920 with 8.1 at present
have unlocked the boot loader via wpinternals
Now as per your instructions, I have connected the mobile and changed mode to Flash mode and in Platform -> Flash -> Flash separate partitions, selected only the main OS and guided it to the select the extracted (downloaded) file of yours. If only this file is selected and clicked Flash Partition button, nothing happens
If I choose the EFIESP file and Data file which I have taken backup from my phone and then select "Flash Partition" it says
Flash Failed!
Size of partitions 'MainOS' and 'Data' together are too big.
Hence can you extract the Data file of your mobile and share it, so that we can try to flash with both the files together. Even Wpinternal also describe that "Remember that the MainOS partition and Data partition are tied together, so you need to flash both partitions together".

I am working to do some registry changes like Pre-Interop unlock and etcetera in next versions of this ROM but guys please let me know what you want
Important : It is my first ROM and it should be risky .

Connect your phone into the Mass Storage Mode to your PC.
open Regedit.exe on your pc and click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
from File Menu click on Load Hive and then path this file on your phone:
Windows\System32\Config\System
then it asks you for a name, name for example 123 or blabla
after that you have 123 or blabla sub key in HKLM navigate to that and Platform-->DeviceTargetingInfo
to see what you have to change here see this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...windows-mobile-10-redstone-rs1-build-t3319375
after changing values again mark 123 sub key and from file menu click on unload hive .
after unloading reboot phone and get insider builds .(This hack could be apply on any Windows Phone with 1 GB of RAM)
