Hi guys,
I like the Night clock function on S6 Edge, but I have to choose a time when the clock will be up. Actually I'm working by night and turn on 3x8, so I don't need that function everydays on the same hours.
I'm looking for a way to activate this function when I'm charging the phone.
I know I can trigger something with Tasker when puting the charge on... But I don't know how I can actually launch the Edge clock Function... Maybe with a shell command or something else... (I activate the airplaine mode on S6 edge with a Shell command)
Anyway, if someone has an idea i'll be greatfull !
Thanks in advance
(By the way, I'm sorry for my bad english, trying to do my best.)
Did you manage to get this working? I'm keen to do the same thing
Hi,
no I didn't. Sold my S6 Edge, battery was not doing the day...
Hi, i have an S7Edge and im controlling the night clock with tasker and secure settings pro (device settings). With Tasker you can set on/off and start/end-time. Maybe it works for S6 too...
What is the setting specifically. I can't find it on my own.

Last night I was showing my friend the new phone and when flipping it over in my hand repeatedly I managed to make the edge show a clock - like the night clock but I've not got night clock enabled.... I managed to do it randomly 3 times but cannot work out how I did this.... It would be a really good feature to be able to brush the edge or screen and it just show a clock and also useful if this had a meeting mode. Using the edge clock only for night seems like building a car and only driving in reverse....
Any one worked this out?

That's actually one of the features of the Edge called Information Stream. Just rub the edge up-down or down-up to show the clock and by swiping to the left or right you can change between clock and informations. You can enable and disable it via the edge screens settings.

Ah-ha! Why doesn't it tell you this in the information about the information stream? It only talks about feeds ect.. but no mention of a clock! Thanks very much, really useful that. Just need a desk clock mode now

I think this is what you looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...4-cocktail-autoon-mod-galaxy-s6-edge-t3116699
You'll need to be rooted, and I think so far it only works on 5.0.2, would recommend a backup of your system using Flashfire before you proceed with applying the Mod it caused bootloops on my device
no thanks....I wanna an app with no need root or modding.....for now !!
oh I see what you mean, for the edge only, yeah not sure if there is one unless your rooted ofcourse. I will also be interested in something like this maybe an app comes out soon.?
From S6 Edge
yes I hope it ....
in this way could be use in a better way feeds in edge columns... (just like clock and info feeds)

Dear all,
Does anyone here know how to use Tasker app to auto enable and disable the always on display (AOD) setting in a specific time?
I noticed that enabling AOD consumes lot of battery, the battery drained 15-20% when my phone was idle overnight from 12am-7am. After I turn off the AOD, the battery drains only 5% overnight.
I'm thinking to use Tasker to disable the AOD when I'm sleeping to reserve the battery, and turn it back on after 8am. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything in the Tasker app that allows me to do so. But I'm able to do this to my previous Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. Maybe I missed out something when I tried to do that for my LG G5?
Is there anything in the Secure Settings app that might help with this? Worth investigating - haven't rooted yet (just whilst I'm getting used to phone and working out pros and cons) so can't check for you.
For what it's worth I just turn phone over which switches off AOD, easy to turn back to check time in dark...
Yeah I didn't notice that my AOD would turn off when I turned it over till later and thought that was a smart implementation for it. Seems very intuitive.
I'll revive this thread, as I'm looking for a tasker solution too. Is there any way I can disable the AOD via Tasker? I've a H850, stock nougat, rooted.
Try this method:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/4knout/always_on_screen_only_while_charging/
But replace "aod_mode" to "enable_ext_display_on_lcd_off"
I may be a bit late to the party, but you really don't need the paid version of secure settings app to toggle this setting on Samsung. Just run the following shell commands from tasker (make sure you check the "use root" box):
To enable:
Code:
settings put system aod_mode 1
To disable:
Code:
settings put system aod_mode 0
Hi all,
I have been looking and experimenting on toggling my phone mobile data and so far i have no luck.
What i want Tasker to do is to toggle my mobile data while at a certain time. I haven't had much luck so far as I cannot make the toggles work on an unrooted phone. The phone I'm trying to automate is on the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. I have AutoInput as a plugin which works well for other toggles such as GPS but the mobile data not so much.
I am welcome to suggestions and appreciate your time.
Hi all,
I've managed to find out a way through quick settings or pull down menu, but it does not collapse when the screen is off. The lock screen just shows it pulled down. It works when using the phone but not on the lock screen. Is this a known bug? Is there a work around to it?
Cheers
Hello Everyone,
I've just purchased P30 pro and even I'm impressed with the speed and the overall battery life I still need a get used to "use it" with one hand
What I was suprprised is I'm missing the setting of screensaver. There is no such option in Settings -> display. When I install 3rd party screensaver such a "Lucid - DayDream Screensaver" and lunch it I was able to go the given settings (wtf) ?
Unfortunatelly there is no option to set other screensaver than photo. Therefore I followed https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...ver-on-huawei-and-honor-devices-running-emui/. I manage to set Google clock as daydream screensaver while charging. Unfortunatelly the clock aren't moving. It is just displaying the time I start charging my phone.
Any advices?
Thx
Y
c'mon .. don't tell me I'm only one facing such issue .
