Battery live - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Been using the edge sm-g925f 128gb (rooted) for some time now. Exellent phone but was wondering if you know any ways to improve battery live without the use of a custom kernel?
So, don't be bothered if someone asked it before. I'll keep searching the forum for questions like this.
Thanks alot,
Greets

Use the app greenify. Also just use the basic techniques such as dimming the display and using the basic power save mode

3 in 1!!! [Consumption, Battery, Arabic]

Ok so i have 3 questions in 1 thread!
I have a X10 mini pro 2.1 (U20i):
1- Has anyone "currentwidget" working on this phone?!
I installed it and the widget shows always Error (i have root access).
Any help is appreciated!
2- How to maximize battery consumption!?! It's barely holding 15hrs of minimal use!!! Wiped the battstats and didn't have so much improvement!
Any help is appreciated!
3- I need arabic support for the phone! Does somebody have it working?!? Where can i find libs, frameworks...?!
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Had you known that, you would have took the time to
(1) Check the wiki.
(2) Post one thread for every question you had.

I'm guessing like the other 50+ viewers they didn't know what you were asking until they actually viewed your post. Consumption, Battery, Arabic doesn't give much away. For all we know, you could have been asking about memory usage, buying a new battery, and an arabic font pack!
Well not bad! I managed to get ur 2 replies guys!

Ok, this is the solution to about half of your problems .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263#td_post_81
And let's see if I can answer those questions!
1. It does not work, at least the one in the market... It's for the nexus one, there is a ported version for the vibrant too, but I'm not sure if it will work either. Anyway, it's a bit of a stupid program, go buy System Panel.
2. It is more about running proceses than anything. Best app you could download to see what is running wildly, System Panel (and yes, pay for it), or just take some other task killer, like Advanced Task Killer, and see what runs without you wanting too. You should uninstall that crap. Start with Timescape. That app is truly pure crap.
Ah, also, put the widget Power Control (which come included) and try to keep everything deactivated as long as you can. Each of those things SWALLOW battery, more than eat. Put APNdroid, and keep internet deactivated too. Download Setcpu (it's free in this forum) and put the minimum Hz to 128 (the minimum you can put).
What else... eliminate all the SE **** you can and whenever you are not using the phone, kill all the running apps with Advanced Task Killer. Or you can use Autokiller, didn't work for me.
Put a battery percentage icon too. You will notice when something is eating your battery with it. If you don't want a theme, use Battery Indicator.
3. Sorry, don't know what the hell I could use that for. Open a thread for this.
EDIT: looked att your profiel, and man, you are no noob, why the hell are you asking how to improve your battery? It is a standard, androids consume if you let them, nothing else. If you really need battery, underclock it with setcpu and problem solved.

First of all thanks for your reply!
About current consumption I'll try also "battery monitor widget" to see if it works!
Man i asked those bcz i'm not a perfect noob (we all are noobs at some point); i'm concentrating my efforts on my HD2 and i dont have so much time for this X10 minipro; so i asked bcz maybe there is some kind of a trick or a known bud/problem that may decrease battery consumption!
About downclocking, my own experience (and many others) shows that it doesn't affect battery much (barely 5 to 10% so it's not worth it) and besides it introduces instabilities so i prefer not to tweak anything about CPU.
However i thank for re-introducing the autokiller memory to my mind bcz i completely forgot it although i'm using it on my HD2!!! hahaha
Oh, no problem then, dude ^^ mm downclocking does work for me, i believe :/ anyway, the best memory optimizer is autokiller, trust me in that see you around!!

To me the name this thread looked as if you´ve found a piece of software which solves these three problems.
Just to address your battery problem - no there is no solution unless you cut off data transmission or use GPRS instead of 3G. 15 hours is decent time.
Can´t say anything about Arabic, though.

hehe feel free to do what you want man!
But sometimes when you need answers you need good ways to ask the questions!
My battery lasted many hours longer after disabling data traffic. I only enable data traffic when needed then immediately disable it again. There's a built in widget to enable/disable data traffic.

[q] how to increase battery time of galaxy s ii?

I am using galaxy s II. its the best android phone i have ever used so far but the problem is the battery draining. i can only use it 7-8 hours with normal use. please tell me some solution to increase the battery life..
Next question : how to decrease battery life ?
Seriously dude, there's so much threads about battery saver tips, do you know that ?
Try for example "setcpu" or lower brightness or use searchbar to look for more examples. It's not difficult to find solutions ;-)

I did exactly what I read about in the articles that I found on the interwebs using Google.
Read the battery threads in particular the better battery stats post .
Turn off everything that connects aim for 2 % overnight sleep battery drain .
Buy another battery as a spare .

[Q] Fast Battery Drain

Hi, I recently just installed a custom rom (donuthd) on my x10i and I'm currently liking it. One thing I noticed is that the battery drains too fast. I keep data and WIFI off most of the time. Is there anything about this that I can do?

Hello, I also had a battery problem with a ROM, FXP CM9 has this case.
As stated THeLogiC it may be a problem with the DeepSleep.
I invite you to look at this message I posted some time ago about my battery problem.

Thanks for your quick replies. It seems I have a locked bootloader and so far, based on my some posts here, I read that I could use doomkernel. Are there any other choices aside from this? I'm using stock kernel by the way.

Hi, I'm also using DountHD ROM and the battery life is fine. I think You have some of the process running, that uses to much power. Try to check battery usage information, in case You won't find any of apps, give e a list of running apps. I hope I will be able to help You. There are some battery draining apps. Think in the past, have You noticed big battery usage after installing some of the apps?
Hi everyone. Thank you for your replies. I installed CPU Spy and my phone does go to deep sleep. I also checked for running processes and found some which I could not close. After a quick reboot, all seems well. Thanks again everyone.
@jakuburban Offtopic question. Do you use Fera or Th settings? I used Ferasettings and restart and recovery does not work.
I'm using settings that come with ICS theme for DonutHD(don't know what You exactly mean?). Try to use flashtool and reflash xRecovery. It should work fine. I know also some other way, but this is if flashtool method wouldn't work.

[Q] Battery problem on Omega v47 rom

Hello to all,
after having a stock i9300 for 11 months (I never kept stock for such a long period of time) I decide to install a custom rom.
After reading a lot I noticed that the most popular rom for the S3 i9300 is the omega so I followed that route.
I intalled the latest 4.1.2 version yesterday and today I was surprised to noticed that the battery lasted less than 14 hours.
I did a clean installation wiping cache/delvik etc.
This performance is horrible compared to stock.
I could easily make a whole day regardless of usage.
1. Are all roms as bad?
2. Will a possible change of the kernel provide a solution is so which one?
Other than that the rom looks great with some added features from the 4.2.2 which look great and fresh.
But I can not accept the phone not easily go through a day.
I also noticed some issues with Skype (not the latest version as this did not work well even on stock).
thank you
p.s. I could not post to the omega rom due to the fact I am new here......

You are being judgmental.
I spend several days reading the forum and educating myself.
I did read in the omega topic that some people experience battery problems.
Some of them reported that a different kernel provides better battery life.
I did not notice though that after flashing a rom you need several cycles for the battery to be calibrated.
Furthermore, in most roms I read about there are several people (not all) complaining about battery life.
This is why I asked if all custom roms increase performance while decreasing the battery life.

Really not the best way to reply to a noob is it? that's the sort of tone I would expect to see in the other place that will remain nameless. We all had to start somewhere and anyway you are wrong the developers section is called just that, if you read it will say Q&A Help & troubleshooting, if you dont like answering questions to noobs then the solution is simple ...DON'T ANSWER !

I Agree, its totally out of order to treat a noob in that way, but unfortunately some members think they actually own the site and therefore have a god given right to speak to new members like **** because they have more thanks on their profile, This complex they suffer from is extremely infectious and has a specific name, its called delusions of grandeur ! There is no known treatment or cure !
After several days I noticed that the battery life is a bit better but nowhere near to the previous performance.
How long does it take to re calibrate itself?

I also used Omega once but the battery life was just like yours.
Try doing the following:
1. Download greenify, understand how it works and greenify your apps.
2. Install startup manager, disable useless apps.
3. Disable wifi settings such as "notify me for new networks". Also, while in sleep mode, make sure the option is set to never.
4. Put auto brightness on.
5. Disable sync.
You can go ahead and install a different kernel. Googy or Devil or siyah would be a great choise.
All of these should improve your battery life.
Thank you for your reply.
Out of curiosity why does this rom consumes more power since it does not over clock the cpu?

They are many factors that affecting your battery life.Everyone have different angle viewing things. So depend on them what a good battery life mean to them. You can try other rom though. I'm using foxhound 2.5 with googy max kernel. It bring a good perfomance for me. And you can try to buy a 3200mah battery for your S3 with original size xD It can last more longer. And try the comment above it should improve the battery alot.
well I always try not to leave wifi on when not in use and do not run programs that use battery resources. I do never use mobile data and gps is always off. I did install greenify but there was really nothing running on the background.
Still I am under the impression that the stock rom provides signifficantly better battery life.
So my question is why? (Only out of curiosity).

[g925f] Random Reboots

I'm having a problem with my S6 edge(g925f), its keep rebooting randomly, I tried a couple of different things:
-installing the latest software with Odin
-Installing a NobbleROM
-Hacker kernel and decreasing the a53 to 900mhz
nothing really helped me...
Can someone of you suggest me a different solution?
p.s I don't have a warranty

I had the same problem on my s6 edge and note 4. And to be honest the only thing that fixed it for me was replacing the batteries. It's not exactly cheap to replace the s6 battery but it did stop the reboots. Just a suggestion. Are you rooted or do you have warranty?

Ahh I was going to suggest a custom ROM but I see you have tried already noble ROM.
Have you tried stock firmware with full wipe data and cache? To rule out if it's an app causing the reboots?
Also you can try to disable auto optimization for all apps in battery settings, I've read numerous times on here that it helps.
Also you can try with greenify and Lspeed from plays store. Both need root but there are settings to tweak within Lspeed which helps.
