Change UI and Apps DPI? - Fire HD 6 and 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone I am tired of the giant phone feeling of the Fire HD 6 and was wondering if there is an App or Xposed module anyone is using to change their DPI on their tablet. I tried Textdroid DPI from the play store but it didn't work. Thanks!!

ROM for Multiple DPI settings

Was wondering if there's a ROM out there that supports multiple DPI settings. Anyone?
If your talking about the screen density then just grab the app LCD density from the market or something similar to change it, it should work on all roms.
I've edited the Build.prop file to change the lcd density; works great. Just wondering if there's a ROM out there that supports the actual change of DPI settings without altering the look of apps (ex. camera, calendar, etc.). I recently switched from Pongster's Hyper Droid for my HTC HD2, his ROM supports all DPI settings, is there any ROM for the GS2 that is similar? Thanks for the reply =)
*bump* any one have any ideas?

Hybrid RC IV- How to change Play Store DPI

I'm running in tablet mode and have, over time, gotten the dpi "right" for all of my apps except the Play Store, which still appears to be at a phone resolution (I'm guessing 360 dpi) .
I know the relationship between build.prop and hyb.prop.
I have tried:
Used default dpi of 213 without adding lines for Play Store.
I have added lines for Phonesky and com.android.vending-1 at 230 dpi
I'm pretty sure my Play Store has been updated (so no longer using orig vending.apk.
Wonder if:
I need to manipulate more than Phonesky and android vending?
Or
Need rom's original vending to change dpi?
It's kind of jarring to flip from low dpi (most of my apps besides phone and contacts) to my current market dpi.
Any help appreciated. Thanks
Love this rom!

[Q] Play Store defaults to Tablet UI.

I came from a Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the playstore worked as would expected, in phone UI mode.
With the Z Ultra the icons are huge and there are only 4 huge app icons on the screen at a time. I'm guessing the extra resolution puts it in tablet mode. Without messing with the DPI is there any way to get the play store to go to the phone UI?
I'm happy with the DPI on the rest of the phone, just not the play store and it's not really worth it to me to install PA just to be able to change the DPI for one app...
I saw this post and tried it and it worked great! Play Store at 180 DPI now look excellent! (I used the App Settings module)
http://www.androidpit.com/xposed-framework-the-5-best-modules
yes, rooting without unlocking your bootlocker allows xposed framework to be installed, and the play store module should work to get you any app you like regardless of the dpi settings it reads
It's taken a little longer for the over-sized Play Store icons to REALLY bug me... glad I found your post.
180DPI is just a little too small for me, 240DPI (gives 3 columns) and font scaling to 120% is just about right for my eyes.
Thanks.
The only thing that's annoying when we change the Play Store DPI is when we get app updates, and it's not possible to read the changelog in portrait.

What dpi settings should I use?

I just got my Verizon HTC One Max rooted and am going to change the DPI. I do not know a lot about calculating the best DPI for my screen. What settings would you guys recommend to give me more screen real estate.
You going to use something like Xposed to change the dpi? I haven't looked to see if the module there that does change dpi works with the One Max. I would definitely not recommend just trying out values as you could end up with a phone you will have to fix by pushing a build.prop (on the easy side) or recover with an ruu (if you are sprint) or some other way if any other version (on the more painful side).
I used texdroider_dpi from the app store and started small. I changed from 480 to 420 and it looks great but one problem. The launcher does not fill the screen now. I think some other launcher would work well but i want to stay stock so I changed it back.

i did try doing it with the app settings module via Xposed. This helped me to acheive per App DPI and few more features like font scaling and setting / resolution/ fullscreen/orientation and permission control.
Don't have the stock launcher on my phone.. i am willing to see what happens on 420. Do you have some screen shots ? Any idea which device uses DPI of 420?

Not sure what uses 420. I just tried it. Here are some screens of some apps and such running it. As you can see only the launcher seems to be affected.

ok looks cool, i will try it out!
What launcher are you using? I wanted to stay stock but the widget sizes are pissing me off. Not sure why the just threw a bunch of 4Xx widgets in here when the screen is 5 wide. I used apex launcher in the past. Any other good ones out there?

Here is a few shots of apex running at with 380 dpi. I like it. The font is default but not hard to read.

I change the whole screen dpi from ROM Toolbox > performance > build.prop Editor > ro.sf.lcd_density to 360 dpi. But sense is not going to stretch full screen even the all other apps are fully work. How can i also change sense dpi?

Play store problems with changed dpi in build.prop

Sorry if this has been asked but I have looked and came up blank
I've changed the LCD dpi figure in my build.prop as my LG G2 looks a lot better at 380 than the stock 480.
However this seems to confuse the play store and some apps don't show up for me. I change the dpi back, reboot and hey presto I can see the app.
is there a way round this?
Any ideas ?
