Hi,
I just came from a LG G3 Cat.6 to a V10 and I was wanting to know if I root/unlock boot loader on my V10 on T-Mobile if it will void my warranty?
Thanks
Kountry
Yes. Doesn't always mean they won't replace or fix. I've returned a rooted phone that was broken, I may have been lucky.

Should I proceed in rooting and unlocking it? I'm gonna be working on a custom kernel for this device. I already did for the lg g3.
Your call. You could wait a couple of days make sure phone is working properly. Or just do it!!!

T-Mobile doesn't care about unlocked bootloaders or root.

Do you think they'd choose to leave everything unlocked if they really cared lol

Yes, anytime you root, you void my warranty. But you can unroot as well. T Mobile doesn't really check for root, LG probably will if you have to deal directly with them. Most times you already have your new phone before they even check out the phone you turned it

From AT&T's site:
AT&T released a software update for the LG Optimus G (E970) to be downloaded via Wi-Fi or over the cellular network. The software update is being pushed to customers via firmware-over-the-air (FOTA). However it is obtained, there is no charge for the update.
This update will fix the issue in which users would sometimes get a blank screen when accessing the browser. This software package will update the Software version to E97011c.

Don't bother. I never got the update either, and if you don't have a browser problem it's not a big deal.

Is the Verizon Galaxy S4 usable on AT&T? I know it's unlocked but wasn't sure if it's unlocked for att. Having to switch to att and hoping I can use my phone. Someone said if it works I would probably only get hspa+ . Any advice will be great.

A word of caution that this root workaround to not trigger the Knox flag is only for rooting the device. Flashing a custom recovery and/or custom rom after this root workaround still triggers the Knox flag to increase as listed in the FAQ.
It is a start but its not the full solution. Still good to have for those that are just buying the Note 3 or not rooted their device yet that have been waiting for a workaround.

Me too. If I could get just root without flipping that flag I would be such a happy camper. I'm sure it'll come.

Will this work for people who have already triggered the binary KNOX counter? Will this reset it or is it a rooting method that doesn't flip the switch?
Edit: Nevermind, I can't read apparently. The answer is No and No/Yes.

It's just a method that doesn't flip the switch. It will not reset the counter if it has been flipped. Also it's for root only. flashing a custom kernel/recovery will still pop the knox flag.

Actually I'm kinda curious if you could downgrade to MI3. Root it. Use xposed to fake the system status. And get the ota. Without loosing root. Or tripping a knox flag.
Guess I'll have to free up some time to go read through the other thread.

I have the note 3 now, and I'm really disapointed in it. I'm running 4.3 now and will be doing so until I get rid of it, which will be soon. Anyway, I'm going to get the gs4, and I'm a flashaholic, so my question is, if the gs4 I'm getting doesn't have the MDK baseband I'm basically screwed? I have to stick with safestrap for recovery? I change roms like changing socks. Having a locked bootloader on my note 3 sucks, big time. Anyway, thanks guys.

Yea unless you get an MDK or Dev Edition S4 you're going to be in the same boat pretty much as the Note 3.

Its the same as every other Verizon S4 except its bootloader is unlocked. Truly unlocked and doesn't need Loki like the MDK ones do.

I love my S4. I actually got an MDK one off Swappa myself. I needed a custom recovery and ability to run AOSP ROMs.
And with more unified JFLTE builds coming out lately there are plenty of ROMs to flash. I like the Note 3 myself just it never came with a bootloader vulnerability like the S4 did.

Yea MK2 is still good, just if you're wanting to run any custom ROMs your going to be limited to Touchwiz ROMs only via SafeStrap recovery. Only the MDK build is able to run ROMs like CM . they're devs working on kexec support for SafeStrap so that custom kernel/ROMs can be ran.
The issue with all the builds after MDK is that the security was tightened up with each build. I'll get you a good link that explains a lot of these things...

So far I'm not happy, but at least I wont make the same mistake. So, is the MDK just an unlocked phone? What I'm try to get at is what do I look for when looking for a gs4? I got on swappa, good place to find a phone. Thanks for the help so far. I'm almost done here. Thanks for your time

MDK allowed for the Loki exploit which long story short... allows for your custom recovery and custom kernels/ROMs .
The bootloader isn't truly unlocked like on a Sprint or TMobile S4 but essentially Loki gets you the same end result .
Good luck! I'm sure you'll be able to find one on Swappa and they're cheaper now that the S5 is out.

Have you tried making any payments since root? I did the same you but won't actually make any payments. It says it can't verify the card. I've only gotten AP to work sucessfullly on unrooted devices.

Been messing with everything involving this, only thing I can say is I broke a lot of things and constantly had to use lg up and tot file to bring everything back to normal. From what I can gather the only way I can see this is possible is to somehow modify the Google play services and possibly the framework. Damn you safetynet API.
