SM-G925F stuck/bricked. Run out of ideas. - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have a big issue with my Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925F.
I can only access Download mode, but in there i can't flash anything with Odin.
Log from Odin:
Code:
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin engine v(ID:3.1100)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/006> __XmitData_Write
<ID:0/006> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Tried Wipe Data/Factory reset, Wite Cache. The last time i was able to access Recovery mode i had an error message that was: "E: failed to mount /system (invalid argument)
But now i cant access recovery mode any more.
This happened when i tried to do an update with Smart Switch from Samsung.
And now i'm kinda stuck and don't know how i'll bring my phone back to life.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry. Wrong thread.

But for answer I would try different USB cable. Different computer maybe. I found my best cable actually was an old HTC cable.

Yes, that kinda did the trick. Was unable to format /system new. But was able to adb push custom rom and then install from twrp after installing the kernel and super su mentioned in the thread you posted.
Thanks for getting me in the right tracks

[Q] Help with Samsung Exhibit 4g phone

I have a Samsung Exhibit 4g that I am trying to restore back to its original state but the phone comes up with. I am pretty sure it was bricked.
E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
ECan't mount /cache/recovery/recovery_kernel_log
and so on..
When I tried to flash a ROM via SD card it says installation aborted
could anyone give me the files so that I can flash them in Odin?
and also if I can get CWM from here maybe via a new kernel, because right now it is the stock kernel.
Please help, Thank you!

[Q] Error when trying to flash stock rom with ODIN

Hello, I am having trouble flashing a stock rom (as I am soft-bricked).
I originally tried the rom from here but that gave me an error similar to the error that the person had in the following thread.
I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433963&page=2 but when I tried to flash the provided ROM it gave me this error on ODIN:
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..
<ID:0/004> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/004> sbl2.mbn
<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> sbl3.mbn
<ID:0/004> rpm.mbn
<ID:0/004> aboot.mbn
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Auth)
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
The error on the download screen is as follows:
SW REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 5, Binary : 3
Not sure what to do here. Can't seem to flash anything with out it giving me some sort of error.
What I was doing that soft bricked me was I successfully rooted and then tried to flash TWRP onto my phone. Now it just boots straight into download mode, or if I boot it into download and cancel just reboots into download mode.
Any help? Thanks!
EDIT: Found another thread after further research. Think I found a working recovery. Trying to flash this. No errors so far. Will get back to you if it works.
EDIT2: Got it to work! I used this if anyone else had a similar issue.

The reason it failed in the first place, just so you're aware and for others who encounter your thread, you tried flashing a firmware older than the one installed on your phone, perhaps from an OTA or just straight up an older rom, and the FAIL (Auth) error is what happens when you do that. You have to flash with a rom version that is the same as or newer than what's on your phone.

S6 Edge Brick?

Hi xda Community,
i got a big problem on my s6 edge. Thought, i was able to flash my phone from stock 6.01 to http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/development/rom-carhdrom-1-t3111519.....it still works, but after a few days, my phone gets more lags and i was more disappointed ´bout that than the bloatware battery drain from stock rom. So...that´s the point. Tried to flash to stock 6.01, but it fails...... from now on, the only 2things i can do are to boot in download mode and twrp 3.02.....think, i don´t have any partitions installed .....
Tried a stock rom with dbt(without brabding) - vd2(vodafone) - dtm(t-mobile) nothing works.....
flash with odin says:
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin engine v(ID:3.1101)..

or....with other branded stock rom
NAND Write Start failed
My phone shows up the following words on the left of the screen( in download mode)
Odin Mode
Product Name: SM-G925F
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Reactivation Lock: OFF
Secure Download: Enabled
Knoq Warrantay VOID: 1 (0x0500) (Ja, Garantie ist futsch)
RP SWREV: B:4 K:2 S:2
after the failed flash, i got this message an my phone´s screen
[CM] SW REV. CHECK FAIL. Device: 4, Binary 3
After that, my twrp mode is not working then, phone can´t shutdown and shows allways the message:
An error has occured while updating the device software.
Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software.
I don´t know what to do....can i repair my phone by myself? or is it bricked for all time? :crying: :crying:
Please gimme a big help to get me through these hard days......
Use Smart Switch. It has firmware recovery function. Just fill in phone model and SN.

Flashing stock firmware should resolve this. First thing if you can boot into twrp clear cache partition, wipe data/ factory reset. Then try flashing stock firmware.
As for the sw rev check fail. It because the device is rooted. Carhd rom is pre rooted that's why you get that message.
Try again flashing stock firmware after the above steps. Let me know of any errors
Ok....SmartSwitch didn't work,so tryin' to Download another Stock Rom with samfirm, vd2.... Hidden.img Fail, but cleared.......everythings fine now.....so, thx for your help......

gt-i9300 softbricked, want to recover photos

I have an old S3 that got soft bricked a few years ago. Is it possible to recover the photos and videos inside?
Hi, exactly !
Flash TWRP recovery using my tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/guide-tutorial-samsung-galaxy-s3-i9300-t3491788
After step 3, go to TWRP Mount menu and Mount phone as USB storage.
All your data is there.
Then you can continue with tutorial to install Android 7 or Android 9.

Hello,
I am trying to flash an Android 11 preview onto my Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U1) with Odin; Here is the Odin log:
Code:
<ID:0/006> Odin engine v(ID:3.1301)..

<ID:0/006> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I am using a file called android11.tar, it contains boot.img and recovery.img; boot.img was originally called system.img and is an Android 11 GSI, and recovery.img was originally called vbmeta.img. I got the GSI from https://developer.android.com/topic/generic-system-image/releases (ARM64). When I receive the fail error in Odin, on my phone I see "SECURE CHECK FAIL : boot"

I don't think any of the solutions there work. I think I'll have to make an MD5 signature.
