I bought this phone from amazon, working like a charm after a few hiccups. I was wondering if someone knew where to get insurance? I tried Esurance, but they only have black, white and gold. As far as I can tell, I can't see any company in the US that covers the Emerald Green. Does anyone know where I could get something? I want to protect it from theft, water damage, etc. You need some type of insurance after dropping $600+...

Any of you guys got the clear/grey holster that your MT3GS clips in?
I got one weeks ago, and love how it holds the phone, but I've noticed it is grinding the red finish off my frigging phone.
Anyone else?

well all of those cases will rub off the finishing like or not
The same thing is happening on my black one. It is rather sad how few decent accesories are out for this phone, if I had known this before I may have just waited for something with more aftermarket support.
I agree, it's sad as hell. OEM accessories shouldn't damage the phone at all.
My wife has the Plaid one on hers, and it hasn't worn anything off.
Nothing was worn off of my G1 from the cases on it, nor my Dash, nor my Behold.
Probably not so much the accessory but the paint on the phone.
Personally I'm scared of one of those snap in holsters. The only one I've ever tried that worked perfectly was the OEM snap in one for my Blackberry 8700.

That's because the plaid one is higher quality and actually has padding it.
You have to pay attention to what you buy. Some OEM stuff is high qual, some is cheap as hell... I'd recommend going in a store so you can try it out first instead of buying from tmobile online. It is much harder to tell that way and I do agree if your gonna pay for oem stuff (which is always higher than others) you should get better quality but sometimes their vendor may make cheaper stuff for some and better vendors make the others. It's a pain for all and comes full circle when tmo has to replace your phone because their very product that was supposed to protect it, actually ruined it, lol
I paid attention to what I bought, I also test fit the device at the store before I bought it. It is very well made, and holds the screen against the body to keep your screen from getting damaged or knocked open.
None of this matters, as it is sold as an OEM item by T-Mobile, and nothing they sell should EVER damage any phone, especially without a warning before hand.
Hello,
I got a Flyer a week ago. On Thursday, I dropped it and got it replaced at best buy. Today, I dropped is again on a parking lot with the pen. They both have dents, and the Flyer has this white dot on the screen that won't come off. Should I take it to best buy, with a request to replace? Or should I call HTC or something. Ideas?
Thanks.
P.S: Yes, I am clumsy at times.
HTC's warranty does not cover damage done by you, normal wear and tear, etc. They are strict on this, so don't bother contacting them.
Dents and dings are just normal wear and tear. Who cares? Your devices are not going to look brand new forever. If you worry that much about the appearance, get an invisible shield, or use a case/skin for it.
As far as the white dot, its either a stuck or broken pixel. If Best Buy replaced it before for something you did, then maybe they will do it again. But its just them being nice to you, its not technically their problem. Unless you spent extra to get the insurance coverage which includes user caused damage. Think about it, if Best Buy or HTC replaced a device every time somebody dropped or otherwise damaged it, they would be out of business.
Alright thanks. I will purchase the warranty and ask them to replace it.
It depends on the type of warranty to...normally it s only replace or fix if broken..not dents or scratches.

Hi everyone. I bought my EVO 4g LTE from wirefly. I noticed that my new phone has a little defect on the border that goes around the screen. I can definitely live with that but its kind of irritating and it can get worse.
If I would want a replacement would I have to go through wirefly or Sprint for that? Also would it be free to get a new one? I do have insurance through the TEP, but wouldn't want to pay $100 especially that I had the phone for only one week. Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

whats the defect does it look like you dropped it.also sprint shoulp replace it if it looks like its their fault.for free.
If there's functionally nothing wrong with the phone, just get a TPU cover for it and forget about it.
A replacement device may have dust under the screen, dead pixel(s), random reboots, etc.
Dude you have a little defect on the border? You're going to return the phone cause of that? Like someone said put it in a case and forget it and see a doctor for your OCD.
So, I'm curious if any of you have cashed in on your best buy warranties? I made the desision to go with best buys warranty for me my mom and dad when we signed up and got new phones. Why? Because if you break your phone and "cash in" with art, there's a 200 dollar deductible! That's over hard to swallow... I don't know what my mom would do if she had to shell out 200 bucks....
My mom just dropped her phone into a pot of water, and got a new/refurbished phone. Free.
Anyone else have their own experiences with the note?
they replaced water damage for free?
There is already a warranty for a year after purchase date given by Samsung that covers any manufacturer's defects, but water damage is usually never covered by any type of warranty....
Are you sure it was a warranty and not insurance?
I shoulda went to best buy.......sigh
Dropped mine and cracked the screen so bad there were pieces all over the floor. Best buy gave me a loaner phone while my replacement was being shipped. Took three days and then had new phone

I guess youre right, its more like insurance. It covers accidental damage and water damage. I went to beat buy just so I could get this insurance
I love the best buy black tie protection when I first started modifying phones (Motorola backflip), I bricked is a terrine feeling. So I went to BB and just stomped on my phone right outside the door and just destroyed it. Told them my ex boyfriend did it and they gave me the HTC inspire 4g free. It is well worth the cost especially if you're prone to carelessness or flash addictions.
/end
My husband fell off the jetties while fishing with his Inspire 4G and went back to BB and they sent him a Note for FREE!!!
No best buy here but att has replaced mine twice...3rd one on the way now (defects)

Geek Squad member here. I know it will sound a little biased, but the geek squad protection (formerly black tie protection plan) is an awesome deal. Yeah, its a nice chunk of change up front, but if something goes wrong it will pay for itself. Technically the warranty doesn't cover full submersion in liquid, but in MOST cases, the agents won't enforce this. Honestly, a lot of them won't even check it. Just walk in, say "it got wet" and in about 5 business days you'll have a new (refurbished) phone. In almost all cases, these phones look just about brand new. I would be wary of just smashing your phone, because if you get the wrong agent, they will call it abuse and deny your claim. If anyone has any questions, I would be more than happy to try and help with answers!

The Only Issues with The best buy protection are; It takes a while to get a new phone as apposed to The carriers who will have one to you by the next day. Sometimes they'll give you a loaner phone, but its not always a smartphone. They gave my mother an old htc android phone, which was fine, but then is stopped working and they had nothing else for her. So I went on craigslist and got a galaxy s because it'll be a good investment as me my mom and dad and brother all have att.
The other thing is lost or stolen. The carrier insurance covers that where best buy doesn't, But it doesn't mater because i think more people break their SMARTPHONE than lose them anyway, and its an amazing feeling right after you destroy your phone and you realize that you wont have to pay 200 bucks to get a new one!
had the beautiful m20p. took 4 tries to get a BOE screen, which i was happy with despite colour vibrancy. i went out one night an an aquanctance of mine ended up knocking the phone out of my hand and long story short the screen cracked. Not to worry right? insurance after all?
wrong
huawei being stupid and not admitting the problem officially means all outlets have been packaging the phones we all sent back and branding them as refurbished. Thats good in the sense i know the phone has barely been used but terrible since after two replacement phone, i have received the worst cases of green screen ever. the current on looks like hulk himself has smeared the screen with his fingers!! not the insurance company's fault of course, this phones have bee apparently tested and branded as good as new.
looks like i have to send my phone to a service center, anyone have experience with this?
yes i have mine got replaced directly from Huawei. its a good deal for you, they will swap it with a brand new one.
The thing is, if you get a refurbished one with a LG screen you can get a new one from Huawei. Its actually a very good deal.
