CWM

Can anyone help me with HTC droid DNA Verizon. Formatted the system by mistake. Boot loader locked. No backups. Tried ruu. Shows error 155. Stuck on HTC screen. There is no is or system.

Which version? I'm just wondering whether you are using an up to date recovery. You could try TWRP(flash the AOSP-LP kernel from HERE) then reboot to recovery and try again. Also it is worth checking the MD5 or download the rom again to make sure the .zip file is OK
Edit: Just to rule out everything which rom version are you using?

This is CWM recovery bug. Try to use updated TWRP

Yeah I had similar problem with cm 11. I succeed when I first flashed 12.1 and then snapshot and then I realized this was because of recovery. With jeboo kernel 1.2 which is with philz recovery I had many of this error but with almost any other everything works fine so just flash different recovery and reboot into it.

Tried removing the first three lines from the updater script and it still dosent work
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1

You've only listed one thing you've tried, but if you have tried everything else then god knows.
status 7 error means you formatted the system. Never format system. Try a google search. you will get xda links of people explaining how to recover from that.

this thread will help.

Thanks for the help , but unfortunately this didnt helped me either...
Tried installing the ROM without Formatting the system while wiped the data and cache .
Still gives me the ****ty status 7 error .
@XperienceD - Even tried FXP 213 and MIUI 142.
Gives the same error.
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1
This happens to me too.
So the best solution for now. Flash the roms you want using the provided kernel.
Then take a backup, flash Mesa, switch between roms via restoring them from recovery.
I do so

I know that will work, but I really wanted a workaround for this :/
Switching kernels every time isn't a solution after all

I had this problem as well. I searched through google and found out the solution is to flash a newer version of CWM which actually worked for me. I couldn't find a separate package with CWM but I found a kernel containing it. Everything has been fine since then.

Flashed to a newer version of CWM ?
I guess MESA already has CWM6.xx
You found a kernel containing it means ? Most of the kernels already use CWM as default recovery I guess

Lupus uses twrp, actually the newer kernels come either as dual or with twrp.

MESA also uses dual recoveries and TWRP as default.
What did he exactly meant ?
Flash another CWM on top of the pre-installed recovery ?
?? Anyone ? knows how to update CWM ?

if you have unlocked bootloader, try some of the kernels which use newer cwm or twrp.
if on locked, i think xparts installs latest cwm.

Flash boot.img (in the zip by rom)
Install Zip
Install Gapps
Wipe data (do this first and only once and never do it again)
then flash custom kernels ..

Strange Also I take it that you mean you have tried to alter the updater script when you modified the roms?
I would suggest to flash back to stock with Odin and start again and see if that helps sorry I can't be of much more help.

ive tried that for lots of times , so now im using this cm10.2 its working fine but i want to try a custom rom
anyway thanks for help mate
The recovery version must be the culprit. Why dont you install twrp from playstore? There's an app called TWTP manager. After installing twrp dont let the app reboot for you. Reboot it first then reboot into recovery the second time. Then try to install another rom

yes , I did.
I specifically checked the downloads again and it all says condor.
however, sometimes when i rebooted after flashing, it said that superuser is not installed. However, i already had it.
but that error only occured a few times.
are there some pre-requisites i need to meet before i flash the rom
Did you factory reset before flashing new rom? And after install just to be sure? Have you updated recovery to newest version? Did you make sure you downloaded the correct rom for your dual sim phone? Have you looked over the forum to see if anyone is having the same issue as you? Do you flash Google apps after rom? You should wait for after first boot to install Google apps. If you do these things then you shouldnt have a problem

get the latest twrp recovery. and follow the exact steps mentioned in the original rom thread. You should install it then successfully.
To root the phone again, just flash superuser zip after you install rom

Yeah, I had the same problem on my condor dual sim. After flashing *any* custom rom, I tried CM12.1, Euphoria, stock android 5.1.1 (for condor) and nothing would work. I wiped everything, did try to boot several times...
This thread helped because I was using old version of TWRP. I flashed the newest. But it would still hang on boot no matter what.
So I read in another thread a format of the internal memory was necessary before reporting bugs. And it ****ing worked.
this is done in TWRP from main menu WIPE > ADVANCED > type yes.
Now I'm part of this really great group of ppl running android on their devices independently on the mercy of carriers or makers.
Thanks for making this thread, I learned from here.

Hydrogen OS on the OnePlus X

Hi There.
Before I start I would like you to know that I'm new here and have little experience with flashing.
I just got my OnePlus X and it came with Oxygen OS installed. I want to install Hydrogen OS on it because of its wonderful UI. I downloaded the ROM zip file from the official site. I copied the Zip and placed it in the downloads folder on my phone's internal storage, however when I try to install it from the stock recovery it always says that it failed. Can anyone please help.
Thanks
how can we help you if you don't explain a little bit more ? have you try to flash with custom recovery ?
what is the error message? try placing the file in the main directory. not the download folder.

First of all you should read all the threads here, for more information on flashing and custom recovery.
For flashing a custom rom on OPX:
- unlock bootloader (you're gonna lose all your data)
- flash a custom recovery (with this you can also make backups)
- flash custom rom (flash gapps if you want)
- reboot
I repait you should read everyrhing here, because you risk to damage your phone!

You need to flash custom roms with custom recoveries only.
You cannot flash them with stock recovery.
First install TWRP recovery then flash hydrogen OS

Well, Error 7 is basicly to protect you from flshing the wrong software (for ex. for wrong phone model), have you tried different cm based ROMs (cyanogen mod 14 by modpunk) if you cant install them either it's something wrong with your recovery. If you haven't try it yet, you may flash it again by odin.
