Simore doesnt work - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a couple to bring to Liberia, one didnt work, after a couple of months finally got it...
When I opened the box the device was open, the battery inflated, busted !!!
The first one, that I use, receives SMS (not all), on calls, I can hear the caller but they cannot hear me...
I spent 300 Euros for a semi working device and a broken one, never expected this from Switzerland...

HTC Titan. No sound or microphone :(

Hey guys,
I wonder if you can help! I had a HTC Desire with no problems throughout its contract and upgraded to a Titan.
Current carrier is Orange and it was bought around release from Carphone warehouses online company.
I like the phone as I mainly browse, mail and text so the huge screen was the selling point for me.
All was well until yesterday when I rang the other half and couldn't hear her, and as it turns out she couldn't hear me either. So I then discovered that no sounds will work and obviously the mic doesn't either. I have tried many resets, powers off with battery pulls and restore factory settings. I have also fully updated.
I thought I was on to a winner when I plugged in the headphones, sound could be heard through them and after some plug in and outs sound was restored without them in. 20 mins later of being rested on a table all sound was gone again. I repeated the process with the exact same results and thought I must have dirty contacts within the jack slot. I imagined the phone thought a handsfree was plugged in when it wasn't!
Unfortunately I get no sound at all again through any means now, not even with headphones. And when I plug headphones in and out they are recognised both ways by the greyed out settings appearing and disappearing!
I searched but didn't find any similar problems on the web and on here. I unfortunately cancelled the insurance and sold my backup Desire! The phone has been dropped a couple of times in the past but no shocks to cause the current issue.
And ideas or where I go from here? It should have warranty right?
It couldn't come at a worse time really as the other half is due to give birth in 8 weeks
Take it to the shop they should Exchange...don't think it will have any problem... Any way did you updated the phone? If yes try a restore

Thanks,
Yeah I have tried all reset/restore options and updated. It is hardware and not a software related problem I believe.
I got it from Mobiles, a sister company/online for Carphone Warehouse. Just looked on their site and you still take it to Carphone Warehouse for repair. Hopefully that won't cost me, I just need to find the invoice!
Didn't they send you a copy of the invoce by email?

I had the same issue just seconds ago. Plugging in the headphones or headsets did not solve any issues. Luckily I've only had the phone for three days (calls worked earlier).
Power cycle solved the issue but this is not desirable from a phone. I mean everything else works fine but calling is quite essential.
If this issues reappears within my 14 return period, I'm certainly returning it.

[Q] Flash stock rom without screen, fastboot ?

Hi all,
My streak has failed on me yet again. This time the LCD has cracked underneath the glass, never dropped or knocked in anyway and always kept cased. I dont think this one has even been out of the house as it was a replacement from dell not long ago. Seemed to crack at the point when i removed the back a couple days ago as the phone had froze up. Simply removed the back plate and battery as usuall, powered her back on and it was cracked.
Now Dell UK are usually quite helpful but i rang the other day and there being very funny this time. Asked me for photo's of the screen which i emailed to them same day. Since then they have emailed me 3 times asking for the photo's as if they never received them. I have of course emailed them the photo's again on those 3 occassions. Still awaiting a phone call to hear the final verdict. I cant see how they can class it as accidental damage as it doesnt have a mark anyway where but we'll see.
I'm afraid this time though this will be my last streak. I've decided its far too fragile so i'll either have a faulty streak up for sale or a replacement shortly.
If Dell do decide to send me a replacment as a precaution i would like to get the stock rom back on there. Problem is i cant see anything, its all black and purlple lines. As far as i can tell the touch is working perfectly fine so is it just a case of guessing what im pressing. Is there something i can do through fastboot maybe ? I cant even remember what recovery i have installed so guessing would be difficult !
Thanks

[Q] Haier W910 buzzes in conversation

Haier W910 buzzing/humming in the phone call. Like I'm close to the speakers.
It does not happen in every conversation, and sometimes it appears only in the course of the conversation, after 5-10 minutes. No pattern
No matter which network mode is selected, 2G, 3G, 2/3G, Auto. Only in some areas ( including my house and yard )
Android 4.1.2., have tried restore, new rom.
Does anyone have an idea?
Hi Jiki27,
I've got the same problem, did you find the way to solve this?
Thank you!!
Hi,
same here. Altough the user of the Haier w910 doesn't notice this, only the receiver of the call does. It seems that certain recever phones are able to filter out that buzzing frequency and the ever persistent buzz is a bit quieter but still anoying. Sound quality is of course severely reduced with this. Here is a little of background on this issue and why it appears:
eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1276434
If you read the whole article you'll eventually find out that the frequency of the buzz is 217 Hz and the problem appears due to faulty design. In other words - the phone has some serious design flaws.
I have more:
After a month of usage the display went dead. The phone still functioned with touch function beeing operational, but no picture available. I opened a RMA (bought it from focalprice) and insisted on immediate replacement. In RMA I addressed both issues - the buzz and the screen. First they tried to get rid of me by offering me a coupon first for 15$, then for 30$. Then they tried to convice me to repair the phone in Europe and that they will cover the expenses after I present them an Invoice . In the end we eventualy agreed to send the w910 back to focalprice.
Now I'm waiting what will turn out. :fingers-crossed:
w910 is otherwise well built and pretty fast. Too bad it doesn't work as it should.

(Problem): TouchScreen not working at all, but after few days it miraculous works

Hello,
Could anyone advise on my issue regarding my S3 (I9300)?
My problem started a few weeks ago, when after my kid did something to it (supposedly drooled over it, or smashed on the floor), it just didn't response to the touchscreen. It booted with no errors (if rested by battery removal) , volume and home button and power worked just fine.
After several days it started working again, with nothing done to it, just left it on a shelf.
But after one week it did not response to its touchscreen, (i forgot to mention that both the display and the hole case don't have any issues, cracks, etc) and it stayed like that for almost a month.
Meanwhile, I have placed an order for another phone and last night, when I just wanted to see if I could got my contacts out of my old I9300, I found out it started to work again!!!
I have to mention, I went to several Samsung Service Centers, in my town and they all said it has broken "the touchdisplay - motherboard" system and to fix it means to replace those two and the cost is like I would've bought a new device. Is that true? How come it "comes to life" over and over?
Any hints, tips?
Regards,

Many problems with this phone! Need suggestions!

Hi there,
My girlfriend bought refurbished S6 Edge (from ebay seller) 3 months ago and everything seemed fine for some time. To make this story short, I will skip some details .
After 2 months of use back cover started to detach from the phone. We guessed that problem was in faulty battery and contacted seller immediately, but he never responded. In his ad it was stated that phone comes with 2 year warranty. Then we contacted Samsung and they arranged free shipping to their official service partner.
After almost one more month of waiting, they finally opened it and found out that battery was damaged but someone was already trying to fix that damage before with some tape. They refused to repair it and it was just returned to us as it is.
I was thinking to order a new battery and change it myself, but as it turned out phone now has other problems which were not there before.
- capacitive buttons are not lighting up no matter what (tried everything). Back button only blinks once when booting up.
- adaptive brightness is not working no matter what (it is always on full brightness)
- screen turns off as soon as she presses "call" button
This all looks like problem with proximity and light sensors, but they all seem to work in *#0*# menu, so really not sure what to do.
We already filed a dispute with PayPal, but I guess not much help will come from that. Any suggestion what can we do here?
Thanks!
Sorry man, but it sounds like you're kinda SOL. I would honestly just try selling it as-is before the S7 Edge comes out. That really sucks though.
