The phone won't turn on anymore, tried soft reset, and hard reset. Have not tried hooking up to computer but they say that it won't recognize since not on. Any ideas on what the problem is, how to fix, and a good pace to buy parts

Will it respond at all if you plug it into a charger?
No it won't

You can find a motherboard on eBay for about 85 then switch the motherboards out. Or you can buy a used zte and use your current one for spare parts.
You think it's the motherboard
Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
Did you try rooting it. Or did it get wet.
It won't even turn on....it just stopped working
Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
You could try refluxing the motherboard. But I can't guarantee anything with that but its worth a try.

I could but would it be worth just buying a new one?
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Probably. Bit it still wouldn't hurt to try to reflux the motherboard. You can't do anymore damage to it. Since it won't boot.

yes i have... and still the same thing... i even tried uninstalling the usb drive port on my laptop and still nothing
Check for water damage
check if it is water damaged, if the water damage indicator is missing then it probably was water damaged, if that's the case its a bad port, it will never work. You can also open it and look for corrosion, but more than likely your out of luck if its a bad port, its happened to me twice.
Nope no water damage but the phone was dusty as Hell...

I had just installed new kernel from TWRP, and rebooted. Nothing, just straight black screen. I cannot get to recovery or download mode. The battery was about 60% and plugged in when I did the kernel flash. If I hold the power button for a long time, the LED flashes orange about 10 times, then repeats the flashing pattern, only if plugged in to charger. I do not have a small torx to remove the screws and attempt a battery pull. Any ideas? As a note, the phone had been giving me various reboots for no apparent reason.
U prolly flashed a nexus 4 kernel on accident it will give u a hard brick time for JTAG then

Ugh, I was anticipating/dreading hearing that. I wonder if it is worth spending the money to fix. Any idea on the resale on these--working of course?. Thank you.
$99 upgrade to G Pro much better than insurance deductible. Hopefully JTAG can fix my E970 to use as a backup now.

Which JTAG service did you use? MobileTechVideos?
Yes, MobileTechVideos. Phone was received by them Thursday. Still toying with keeping it for backup and canceling my insurance on the E980, assuming Josh can fix the thing.

Update: Received my phone back from MobileTechVideos, and everything works well again. They installed the ROM I had requested, so I am happy with the service and recommend them. Now my only problem is I still prefer the screen on the LGOG over the Pro....
I've found that my problem is my charging Jack on the phone. There is something mechanically intermittent. Does anybody know anyone who might do this work instead of sending it back to the factory? I'll be happy to pay well.

Is it charging then not charging? On my old one my charger flex cable went bad and I had to replace it because eventually my phone stopped charging all together. Its like a 10 dollar part and takes about 15 minutes to replace. There are guides on YouTube to talk ya through it.

I had issues with the usb port cutting in and out when connecting to charger or computer,
Changed cables and did nothing same deal,
Then I changed roms and some magical way it fixed it not sure how that all worked out but maybe this will help,
goodluck
I sent it away.
For forty dollars it came back as good as new and the old part was obviously defective.

Yes, but the troubleshooting process is to go from simple to complex, from cheap to expensive. Cracked solder joints and lint would both give intermittent errors.
It was a suggestion, not an argument.

I understand that. I just wanted to make it clear to others that when the simple solutions don't work, and you're not confident of doing the work yourself, there is a reasonably priced reliable alternative.

I'm having really bad battery problems with my girlfriends phone.
We were running pa jelly bean and we bought a new battery to try fix the problem as its quite an old phone.
Still had the same problem so tried pa kit kat. That didn't fix it either.
Basically the phone will charge to 100% then go down normally to about 40 or 60% then it will totally die and when you put it back on charge it will he at zero again. So she's really not getting a use out of the phone at all. Am I going to need to flash stock again? Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks
Steven

Flashed stock jb uk. Took all day to download too as samfirmware seem to have changed their servers. And same problem.
It was at about 60% then it froze and I had to take the battery out and put it on charge to get it back on again. And it was 0%!
Could it be a bad charger port or something? Means I would need to take the phone apart to see which revision it is won't I?
Thanks
Steven

It looks hardware issue since you have replaced a new battery.
Take it to a repair shop

I've had it apart before. Going to try replacing the charger port board. Should probably fix it right?

Never been wetted by water?
Really looks like hw problem.
It hasn't been wetted. I heard of an issue with i9100's that its appears to be on charge constantly even when unplugged the charger icon stays in the corner. I've had this issue recently but it went away. The people that had this issue replaced the charger port board and this fixed it. Can anyone vouch for this?

Well I've changed the battery with a new one so I've ruled that out

Given what you've already tried (new battery/etc) & given how quick/easy/cheap (~US$15) it is to replace the USB board/port, I'd be doing that if I were in your situation. KeithRoss39 has a guide in the General section which has all the info you need to get it done.

Cheers mistah. I've already replaced the LCD screen on it so should I had the thing in pieces already. Only pain is I have to check the rev number on the board before I order it I think so it matches. Means I'll need to take the phone apart right down the number put it back together until the board comes then do it all again lol
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No worries Yep, as long as you match the revision, you should be good.
Just curious, I bricked it after doing a factory reset in safestrap.
I'm honestly not certain at the version of software it was on.
If I were to replace the motherboard would it work again?
Thanks

It should - though can't confirm through experience. HDXs can be hard to service. Reports of cracked screens from DIYers looking to repair usb port or replace battery. Lots of glued components.
For anyone interested, motherboard worked. Had to order a new daughter board as well.
Easy repairs if you have the tools.
I bought my parts from ifixit, I think I got their last motherboard though.
