Just curious, I bricked it after doing a factory reset in safestrap.
I'm honestly not certain at the version of software it was on.
If I were to replace the motherboard would it work again?
Thanks

It should - though can't confirm through experience. HDXs can be hard to service. Reports of cracked screens from DIYers looking to repair usb port or replace battery. Lots of glued components.
For anyone interested, motherboard worked. Had to order a new daughter board as well.
Easy repairs if you have the tools.
I bought my parts from ifixit, I think I got their last motherboard though.

You should be fine if you are in warranty.. You will get either a replacement or a refurbish one, as long as it was not physically damaged or the water sensor has not been tripped.

When a device had problems and is sent back to the shop, they fix it and sell it again, that why refurbished stuff is cheaper.

My mobile's motherboard is damaged(it is in warranty)..problem is if I sent to service centre how do I know that it is changed or just temporarily repaired..coz there are 3 to 4 service centres in hyderabad city..I asked one the service centre to replace my product coz it is damaged in fist week itself..he intelligently repaired the motherboard temporarily(instead of replacing it, so that he need not replace the product) and said sorry sir it was not a motherboard problem it is some connector problem and it was replaced..but im really worried.. now its temporarily ok..but in future it will create so many problems..I have to run around service centres and that to I will have no freedom of using custom roms(this is the main reason I bought s3..so please guys CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO KNOW THAT MY MOTHERBOARD IS REPLACED or any app that can tell my mobile's motherboard model no. ..PLZZ HELP ME..

IMEI number changed is a clue
Dowbload the emmc checker app from the play strore...if the chip no. Is oxf7 then it has been changed most certainly... And if it is still oxf1 then it may or may not have been changed.

If you have a backup of your EFS from the old mainboard and the new mainboard then compare the nv_data.bin files @ 0x00180000 if this data is different then the mainboard has been changed. If you still have the old mainboard and your taking it into service and want to know if its been changed while in service, then *#03# and compare these numbers, is most simple method.

Technically speaking, what data (and from where) is that command reading?
If you have one of the bad boards, aren't they obliged to change it anyway? If you say that your having issues that software cannot fix then I can't see them simply sending it back

I think I have this problem too.
I can't flash any ROM in my phone. One time I tried to flash a ROM via mobile Odin (I have done it many times before) and it get stuck and i has not able to enter either download mod or recovery so I send the mobile to repair and they "repair" it under warranty. But actually I have the same problem and when I try to flash a ROM with pc odin it also gets stuck...at "Get PIT for mapping.." I don't know what to do.. They should have replaced the motherboard but they didn't.

I've found that my problem is my charging Jack on the phone. There is something mechanically intermittent. Does anybody know anyone who might do this work instead of sending it back to the factory? I'll be happy to pay well.

Is it charging then not charging? On my old one my charger flex cable went bad and I had to replace it because eventually my phone stopped charging all together. Its like a 10 dollar part and takes about 15 minutes to replace. There are guides on YouTube to talk ya through it.

I had issues with the usb port cutting in and out when connecting to charger or computer,
Changed cables and did nothing same deal,
Then I changed roms and some magical way it fixed it not sure how that all worked out but maybe this will help,
goodluck
I sent it away.
For forty dollars it came back as good as new and the old part was obviously defective.

Yes, but the troubleshooting process is to go from simple to complex, from cheap to expensive. Cracked solder joints and lint would both give intermittent errors.
It was a suggestion, not an argument.

I understand that. I just wanted to make it clear to others that when the simple solutions don't work, and you're not confident of doing the work yourself, there is a reasonably priced reliable alternative.

The phone won't turn on anymore, tried soft reset, and hard reset. Have not tried hooking up to computer but they say that it won't recognize since not on. Any ideas on what the problem is, how to fix, and a good pace to buy parts

Will it respond at all if you plug it into a charger?
No it won't
Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
You can find a motherboard on eBay for about 85 then switch the motherboards out. Or you can buy a used zte and use your current one for spare parts.
You think it's the motherboard
Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
Did you try rooting it. Or did it get wet.
It won't even turn on....it just stopped working

You could try refluxing the motherboard. But I can't guarantee anything with that but its worth a try.

I could but would it be worth just buying a new one?
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Probably. Bit it still wouldn't hurt to try to reflux the motherboard. You can't do anymore damage to it. Since it won't boot.

I have tried(with a LOT of help from everyone here at XDA developers) to get my HDX working again. I have got it as far as TWRP installed but cannot get anything further. In the process i broke the connector for the camera off of the board. I finally got fed up and ordered a new Kindle :/ I just don't know what to do with the old one. I know it still works and someone out there can get it going. I have just had to admit to myself that i do not know what i am doing at this point.
I was going to post it on SWappa but it looks like they only want 'gently used' items. Not ones that technically dont work. Is this a lost cause? Is there anyone out there who would want to get it working again? What are my options?
Thanks,
mhuck0625

Everything works perfectly on it except the operating system. I bricked Mt original board so I bought a new motherboard(and daughter board) and tried rooting and reloading. I've got TWRP on it but can't get any further. None of the ROMS I try work. Unfortunately I no longer have time to mess with it so I figured it's try to sell/trade or see if someone else could fix it fairly cheap. I just don't know where to sell/trade/fix.
