So yesterday I renamed the file app_process hoping that android well create another one after the reboot
I rebooted the phone waited a few seconds than i released that it's stuck
now I can't go to the recovery mode or the download mode because it reboots as fast as I enter either of them
when I remove the battery put it back, the phone auto boots without me pressing the boot button
My phone is rooted and the kernel is custom
Remove the battery and plug a charger in, try to access download mode while just on the charger.
If you are successful then flash a stock rom via odin.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
tried it doesn't work :crying:
couldn't access the download mode

Hi,
I need your help.
I am stuck in recovery mode.
I was in fast boot mode and I flashed recovery file for ICS and installed SU as per instructions.
I thought I have to disconnect the cable to go into recovery to install from SD Card and I did the same.
Now I have to get into fast boot mode to flash the original kernel.sin to get into normal mode.
Please help. I am stuck and I am trying to turn off the phone to get into fast boot.
Hold the power button and vol up for about 10 seconds, You will feel it vibrate...
Thanks a lot!!!
I was able to switch off the phone and was able to get into fast boot mode.
I flashed the kernel and I am able to see my home screen now.:good:
Have a Wonderful day/nite.

BUMP!
I'm having a similar problem. I managed to get the phone to fastboot mode, but when I wanted to flash the new firmware, Flashtool is stuck at the popup saying you need to unplug and replug the USB.
By stuck as in, there is no progress in Flashtool after I connected the phone in fastboot mode. Any help?
EDIT: Never mind. I tried to use a different Kernel again, and I managed to solve it. The one I use initially must be for GB.
Hi Guys,
After Updation my Xperia S is not Starting Up,
Can somebody tell me how to start it on ?
I'm using v40 of temasek unofficial cm11, Boefflea version 11 kernel.
while I was using my phone, the phone suddenly went into a reboot and started the boot-loop, even when I pull the battery out and put it back in it starts booting immediately and goes into the boot-loop , whenever I try to go into download mode or recovery mode, once or twice I will be able to reach it, but 3 seconds in, it restarts and goes into the boot loop again (I can't choose between restarting or going into download mode)
would a USB jig help me getting into the download mode or will it be 3 seconds in and restarts?
would a service center help me retain my data as I need them?
Thank you.
momentarily I've managed to be able to access download mode and the laptop started making a sound trying to identify the device, too bad the battery fell off (or the phone restarted) lol
anyways I still need help because I couldn't get into any of them
If the phone starts the moment a battery is inserted then usually the power button is stuck -try giving it a wiggle, or get it replaced.

yeah will do that once this gets fixed lol ..
for some awkward reason, I found out that once I pull out the battery I can use download mode
what should I download?
I tried flashing CWM but I get back to the bootloop ... should I install a newer bootloader?
No, bootloader is irrelevant to firmware. You would be best to flash a full stock rom with odin then factory reset and see if it will boot. I would suspect the power cycling may have caused partition problems if recovery got wiped.

which would mean I would lose all the data in the previous cm11 right?
I'm trying my best to flash a recovery but I think it got wiped for good.. I'm trying to flash it over and over again .. (I unplug the battery once I'm in download mode to prevent the sudden restart) .. before I flashed the CWM through odin I was able to go into a glimpse of a recovery mode, now I can't seem to see it at all...
is there a way to just copy the data (mostly pictures) through odin or adb with my phone current state?
Google says it might be possible

only through recovery mode or hoping your phone would suddenly connect after many boots lol
I don't think that will be my case .. oh well
as long as I can get my phone working again
going back to stock rom didn't fix the issue. can't access anything yet.
any help?
if anyone is reading this, I've been looking everywhere for a stock rom with pit file, I think that's the problem I'm facing since I have different bootloaders and different modes, somewhere around that I jacked my partitions and I think this would help putting it all back
I've found ones for android 4.1 but nothing of 4.3 .. since I came from 4.3 stock rom and then 4.4 kitkat temasek I think 4.1 won't help me at all
time to go to a service center I guess.
OK this is weird...
after I gave up I put my phone on a recover firmware that for some bizarre reason brought it back to life!!! I just put the phone back and left .. 5 hours later it was on and working.. I was able to access the phone for a brief moment.. but for some reason again I wasn't able to get the touch screen to work... I was able to raise the volume.. restart the phone.. but nothing on touch screen..
then it went back to the dead state...
any ideas?
@boomboomer
Motherboard component or connect lose or failing .

USB JIG
Yo guys well it eventually had to happen someday. Well i will try to explain what exactly happenend.
I had the Sensation 5 Rom on my device. which means i was on 4.4.2 the CWM recovery is 6.0.4.7
yesterday i decided to flash back to the Revolution HD Rom which is 4.3 if im not mistaken... i didnt change the cwm recovery.
There were no problems while flashing and the Revolution HD Rom was working fine until today when i decided to boot into recovery Mode.
(My hardware PowerButton is defect thats why i took it out of my phone so yeah there is no Power Button on my S3)
Because i cant use the 3 button combo to get into Recovery i used the App quick boot and used the App to boot into Recovery mode.
Now from there on my Problem begins. The Samsung Logo appears then the phone boots into Recovery but only for roughly 1 second.
The only thing i can see is the circle with a hat in the middle (the logo) and the cwm version on the bottom before the phone shuts down and everything starts again...its kind of a bootloop only going into recovery mode for 1 second and then starting a new.
Which mena si CANT use recovery Mode and i ALSO cant get into Download Mode somehow... ive tried holding the Volume down button and Home button and everything but i cant get the phone into download Mode so yeah phone is stuck in that Bootloop which i explained above.
Do u guys think that a Usb Jig from Amazon would actually work getting the Phone into Download Mode? or is it a lost cause and i should start looking for a new phone? ^^
i would appreciate any answers a lot !
No one who can help? :/

well if i try adb the device isnt shown as connected because well the phone restarts every 2-3 seconds.
If there is still any other way wich it could work without a usb jig that would be awesome
ive found a thread over google which said something about sp tools and scatter files....looked like it was possible to change the files of the phone while it was shut down....Does somebody on here know if this is possible?

Hi there,
I am new to android phone and I had an old Grand Quattro GT-I82552 to play with.
I followed the guide at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494471, downloaded
- ODIN v3.07
- CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5
- Stock Recovery GT-I8552
I followed the steps and flash CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5, but on next boot it won't go to CWM recovery mode (I did removed battery first). I tried many times with other CWM from different sources and now my phone won't boot, it just show up the Samsung Logo with yellow triangles, then shutdown. It doesn't look like a loop boot, as it shutdown entirely. I can't charge the phone either.
I can still go in the usb downloading mode so I flashed the stock recovery, no luck, phone still can't boot.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I found out that I was too careless to noticed that Volume UP is required for boot into CWM, instead as Volume DOWN. So I can boot into CWM now, however I supposed I can withhold my SuperSU install, and just boot into my stock Samsung appearance by normal shutdown and startup of my phone? I can't, everytime I tried to power on, it get's me to empty battery screen then shut off. I can't seem to charge the phone as well.
Have you tried charging the phone for a few hours while in recovery mode, and then turn the device on?

Thank you for your suggestion I will try that. Actually I tried to splice a USB wires and connect red/black to +/- contact for the battery and charge it for few hours, it doesn't seem to get hot, and certainly the phone still can't switch on with the battery.
Initially I thought maybe I messed up the firmware (really I only flash cwm) hence the phone's battery charge controller is not working that's why I tried external charging, but I am not too sure now.
My only hope is to get a way to verify I have enough battery power so I can flash the stock recovery in "downloading mode". I dare not flash recovery without full battery, though the download mode can be accessed while I plugin into PC's usb port.

Don't worry your phone will charge while in recovery around 2% in 6-7 minutes. After that you can flash stock os via Odin. Next time you try to flash recovery don't check auto reboot in Odin when flashing of tar file will complete remove battery and boot to recovery. Then flash supersu

Thanks for your advice. I took both of your advice and had my phone flashed with Stock ROM and now it returned to normal with fully charged battery sign shown. My battery appears to be fine with and fully charged, the battery current probably can't be detected with my broken phone back then.
With StockROM in and fully battery, I redo the custom flashing and I am now on custom ROM! Though have some problem with the ROM (battery report not correct, no front camera..) but I am happy now the phone is back to work now.
Thank you very much.
Hi guys, I flashed cm-13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J2-i9300.zip and everything worked fine BUT I did a factory reset from the system itself not from the recovery and since then my phone is stuck between samsung logo and twrp logo which appears only for a second or two and then back at samsung logo....I cant enter download or recovery mode, I cant turn my phone off, every time I put battery in it, it keeps looping. But I have noticed that when i connect it to my PC it just loops in samsung logo not between twrp and samsung. Help me please ASAP :crying::crying:
Do you have a USB jig to force download mode?
I dont have USB jig, is there any other options? My phone can get to that download mode by pressing buttons and it shows only for a second screen of download mode and then it goes back at looping....
Could be a power button problem?
Well I really dont know because I had removed the button before, it didnt work correctly and now I cant know is it up to button or the software ....
