I'm using default file manager on CM12.1.
HTC One X+

Thanks for the heads up.
You can disable it in the settings.

I've disabled mine as well, don't need their Cleaner...

using Es Explorer Pro 1.0, everything normal.

I'm using solid explorer. It seems good

Now that Astro has "upgraded" to a huge, bloated, useless app (IMHO) I don't think there are any that are worse? I've used ES File explorer, it seems to do what I need but, as always, YMMV.
Id recommend Root Explorer. Sure you've got to pay for it, but its more useful than all the free explorers combined.
Signature.
Astro has become junk IMO.
Es File Explorer
2nd choice would be root explorer but I stick with ES
I used to use astro........ But switched to es file

I too use ES. It has Box and Dropbox integration and I can get files from shared folders on my desktop when connected to my home WiFi (LAN access)

Files going missing after moving

I'm not sure what's happening, but every time I use Astro to move files, after a while they vanish.
I've searched and not found an answer, I don't know if it's Astro or a phone issue.
Xperia S using stock NL .73 ROM.
I've tried moving using copy and move, into new folders and existing ones, if I look straight after they are there, after a while they're gone.
Not got anything installed that I can think of like A/V etc.
Any ideas?

No idea but it has happened to me on occasion with astro, on unrooted stock .67 (stupid o2)
I use a different file browser now because i kept losing pictures. Shame really because i really like astro.
Try using ES File Explorer I've used this for ages and never had a problem, it's a free one from the play store

Tested ES, so far that's not deleted anything!

Another good thing about ES File Explorer is that you can connect to your box account and batch upload, plus you can connect to your pc via wifi

I never had files missing from the phone, but from the Windows Explorer after moving them on the phone.
For example, when I renamed the Video folder to Videos, nothing showed up. When moving the files back to the Video folder, they immediately showed up again.

For mine, I have moved my apks to the SDcard (for those that can be moved) and sometimes the apks will go missing. They will only re-appear when I do a reboot. Strange.

Yeah I've saw it there too, this explorer is confusing. I can see what's in the folders but I cant delete anything in there which is weird because the app actually gives me the option to delete files, and it says "1 deleted file" BUT it doesn't delete it xD.
Anyway I think that this could be a little step to create a xploit or something to modify these folders without being root? that would be pretty useful there's alot of **** running in the background of this device.
Edit: Well, it's answered above me so it's all okay.
Yes it's normal and I think es file explorer can do to same.

Not sure about deleting (haven't tested it yet) but moving apk and setting perms works fine for me.
Try solid explorer beta2. Hit jump/system root to navigate. Works great for me.

Which file explorer? for daily and ease use

Which is the lightest fast and practical file explorer for everyday use?
What do you need it for (built in file support, root access, etc)?
Try xplore, it has all one needs in a file manager.

This is pretty easy to answer: ES File Explorer.
It's free and fast and besides being a normal file manager it's task killer & cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and ftp client.
I've been using if for a couple of years with tons of different roms and mobiles and never had a problem.

just for copy paste files and extract zip files... simple ui like root explorer?
There are 2 file browsers I use on an everyday basis, firstly if you want a good UI experience, the ES File Explorer and the best thing about it is free! Second thing I use is the Root Explorer app and it is not free although it's worth a buy, if you are onto changing ROMs and other tweak stuffs then this baby is for you!

Root Explorer! This thing is a power house. Simple to use, very clean, and does exactly what you tell it to do

Wrong section -_- and as far as ur question is concerned use root explorer
Solid Explorer or FX Explorer.
Been using Root Explorer for a long time, and it's rock solid. Recently though, I've started using FX Explorer and it's the only one I use now. And next time you have a question, post it in the Q&A section.

Solid Explorer. Free, beautiful, easy to use, and has tonnes of features. Root explorer doesn't compare.

To those guys using Root Explorer [Lite], is there any way to make a homescreen shortcut to the downloads folder?
I was made aware of Solid Explorer from this post... It's the coolest app I've come across in a really long time!
