Why LG don't allow us to unlock the bootloader, like they did with the G4?

Yes would be nice

I'm assuming and hoping that that's a bug only on the bootloader at least on the international 960a devices. Why: first there is this option within development settings. Second, it's usual to not be able to do adb reboot bootloader. I hope that with marshmallow there will be a new and fixed bootloader coming to our devices.

still no update on this?

any update ?

I hope I don't have to wait to long. If so I need to return it before 10th of March.
I want to improve on the audio quality with viper4android. My old nexus 5 sounds better with the right profile (even flac files)

And i regret why i sold my note 5 for this v10(

Same here (I would return V10 and buy back when unlock OEM would be possible).
Good luck to anybody who is trying to get root.

[Q] d620 vs. d620r

What are the differences between D620 and D620r ?
And if I have D620, can i unlock bootloader with this method ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/bootloader-unlock-t2827748
Las one. Will be here some step by step tutorial how to unlock the D620 phone?
Thank you very much
Is your D620 branded? If so, your carrier may have removed the 'r' on software level, meaning that the hardware may be D620r.
Either way, the BL unlock method should work.

I think, that i will wait for another method and for more ROMs ...but thank you ...
I have branded D620, and in hardware information it says "D620". As Vagelis1608 says, it may be d620r, but who knows. Anyway, this method successfully unlocked my BL.
Unlocking isn't that hard, just read every step carefully, and inform yourself about steps you don't understand. When you're sure in what you're doing, then unlock it.

In order for 4G to work on this phone, your provider has to support LTE.
In my case (Cosmote GR) only supports GSM.

You probably have installed a big game or two which are taking up your memory.
Or, if your phone is branded, then your carrier may have pre-installed a lot [email protected] on it.

Hi Vangelis1608,
I found this site that provides all the stock firmwares of lg g2 mini variants. I have the d620r. As i read in the other post the d620/r/fr are carrier's games. I bought one from a shop here in Greece (From Arta) that imports g2 minis from italy. The carrier is TIM. So i want to install the stock lg firmware without all the [email protected] that tim has installed. In your opinion which one should i install the NEU or the ITA/Italy? I wont brick it right?
I want to add that i removed as many tim apps and the boot animation that tim added after rooting it. But after 2 months apps crash and i lose app icons. Thats why i want to instal the stock rom.
Thanks for your time

NEU.
If you check the list, under Italy, TIM is for D620R which also confirms my previous assumption that D620fr is, in fact, D620r in hardware and that the 'fr' is only on software level. This also implies that all variants starting with 'D620' are the D620R and simply they are branded, to 'scare' people so that they won't flash the unbranded firmware.
As a result, flashing stock firmware (for D620R) on any D620xx variant will only remove the [email protected] restrictions placed by carriers (TIM, in your case) and will not brick the device.

T-mobile root via tungkick

Just saw a video on the Verizon v10 root via tungkick, and didn't see that they unlocked bootloader, and on startup screen didn't show unlock bootloader. Wondering if we (tmobile v10) could do the same using LGUP and a tot file. Do we even have a tot file available for tmobile? And big props to tungkick.

Sorry for the dump question, but what is TOT??
I have been reading articles with that and I can figure out what it means...

I'm pretty sure OP is talking about the .TOT files in the newly revealed root method for Verizon V10 devices, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ic-add-rootsystem-tot-vs990-tungkick-t3336345
If you can root both the Verizon and AT&T variants using the .TOT method, I'm confident to go out on a limb and say that it's possible for the T-Mobile variant as well. The only question is... why? Rooting will void your warranty anyways, so whether or not the unlocked bootloader message is displayed doesn't matter outside of your personal preferences.
If this is something that people want, I'd suggest contacting Tungkick.
Yeah there's no sense our variant having this root method....BUT that's just me.
Also trying to figure out why we'd need this method...

TOT files most likely mean TOTal files, containing contiguous raw dumps of specific areas of the flash memory which stores your firmware.
They can also be written in most devices without restrictions using the mmcblk0 method with the proper "seek" and "count" parameters.
If you explore them with a hex editor, you will find plenty of interesting "things", normally not found in stock files ( like DZ, KDZ, etc.)
Fun stuff...

I'm confused too as Tungkick already has provided a rooting solution for 6.0 on T-Mobile.

LG V10 Marshmallow Rooting

Hello I just got my T Mobile V10 updated to Marshmallow.
Can somebody help me with the steps to root it. I would like to remove some LG and T Mobile bloat, but still would like to keep it ready for future OTA updates.
Yes, the first step would be to send it back, get a new one, and don't update the device to marshmallow... As there is no root method now for 6.0 on this device when bone stock.

Oh. OK. I didn't know that. I will wait for somebody to come up with a rooting solution for MM. Don't want to go back to the old one, because of the improvements especially the Finger Print unlock.
Sit tight, there's a Vietnamese dev that supposedly has MM root and will be releasing it soon.

[info] Nougat on A2017G : ZTE Germany is looking for 20 betatesters...!?

http://www.ztemobile.de/forums/topic/zte-sucht-axon-7-android-nougat-beta-tester/
A couple of days ago i had contact with ZTE Germany for this N update. (my previous post)
They stated clearly that this update was scheduled for end of january.
Now, today as i read, they are looking for 20 testers...isn't this not a little bit too late when a release would be scheduled by the end of this month ?
In general how quick can a beta Nougat be tested to release a full working N?
Didnt they sey end of february mid march? not really sure but i think i read something like that on a screenshot from zte germany

Maybe someone would ask in the thread. Really sad if they change the release
Well, the A2017U and A2017G are pretty similiar, so I guess they already have most of the features in.
A sprint is about 2 weeks and you can go from a public beta to release in one or two sprints.

How do you know they are working with sprints? How do you know they have 2 week sprints? Still, big issues can come from the public beta test which will delay the release.

Had some further discussion this morning with ZTE.
They keep holding the date of the end of January even with this test...let's wait and see.
ZTE remarked also that the update to Nougat would imply that it would be difficult and not be recommandable to downgrade to 6 again (if you would/want/needed to).
Can someone confirm this that downgrading to 6 would be very tricky and risky?
Hmm I think that with ADB method it shouldn't be tricky - but I might be wrong. May the update will change recovery / bootloader idk.
PS. I'm from Poland and I do not speak Germany but I will be willing to help as beta tester.

I would think ADB would make this easy as usual, but i have never downgraded (if i and other users are needed to for some reason) before.
Perhaps someone, who has allready performed a OS-downgrade before or does know exactly how this should be done, could give us some insight in this ( even to prevent some possible issues in the future)

It's usually very easy (done it with a Nexus 5, Xperia Ray, Xperia Z1 Compact, Oneplus X). You just have to flash the previous OS's zip in recovery - or, in the Galaxy and Xperia's cases, with a PC tool (Odin, Flashtool). The Oneplus was the most complicated but even that was simple - I had to flash the older bootloader as well. Although ZTE may have something up their sleeve... I'm not sure.
Here's hoping Nougat will be so good we won't want to downgrade!
As long as ZTE doesn't do nasty things in the bootloader downgrading on unlocked devices will be trivial and very likely possible on locked ones too.
If they install more restrictive bootloader you can probably avoid that by keeping the old one but that means blindly flashing the OTA won't be an option.
Personally I feel like nougat would have to be exceptional for me to live with stock and to renounce xposed, otherwise I will stick with lineage for the time being.

Indeed let's hope the N update is that good we dont need to downgrade afterall
I saw some reflashing of a nexus from Lollipop to Kitkat and it was really simple. Just flash in ADB the 'flash-all' with an unlocked BL and you're good to go.(+wipe data/factory data reset in recovery)
If there is no flash-all file which files have to be flashed in fastboot and in what order ? Is there some guide to do this properly for all type of phones using ADB?

IIRC the order is: bootloader, recovery, system. But there are a ton of guides online, and here on XDA, that you can use to verify :good:

I downgraded Moto g xt1039 from 7.1.1 to original 4.0.2 (or 5.x I can not remember) via service menu recovery. That was super easy - sotck OTA image (flashable with all things eg. Bootloader, recovery etc), then fews pushing , wipe, reboot and done
You can find step by step guide in Moto g 4g development submenu on XDA
As mentioned above, sometimes changes are made in the bootloader which deny a downgrade. Same with the modem/baseband. I've seen older moto g's (xt1031) refuse to work with a downgraded baseband.
As enthusiasts, we'll have to take apart the update and flash only what needs to be flashed to obtain a working nougat.
There is a possibility of partitions changing when going to nougat. There was some added partitions that if you went to roll on one of the phones that I have owned that would brick your phone if it wasn't done correctly. I wish that I could remember the phone but the update added something like 10 more partitions that dealt with bootloader security and what not. This could possibly be an issue but I do not know much about ZTE phones.
IIRC, htc did this on the evo 4g lte during one of the 4.x upgrades.. I believe it was on 4.3. The emmc was completely restructured.
