I have the market application and it is working
Wierdest thing is that I live in the middle east and I got the market application.
And it was 161.76 MB when all of yours was 163 0_0
If you rooted, can you provide us the entries in the default.prop file in the system folder? Maybe you updated using a different firmware and not the middle-east one.
Sounds like world global firmware

So im rooted and still on the 5 update and my phone keeps begging me to "install now or install later" for the latest 7 update. What do i need to freeze to stop that or is it going to bug the **** out of me forever. Im way too lazy, i dnt wanna accept it and re-root, then have to re-do the webtop over hdmi hack all over......
Any suggestions?
There's an certs.xml file you can rename but I don't have a clue where it is...

Moto photon
Use root explorer to edit /system/build.prop
Edit the line ro.build.version.full
Change the blur version from 45.2.5 to 45.2.7
Reboot to cwm and clear cache.
Reboot and you are done.

Dear all,
I am one of the people that updated my phone to version .510 by changing the Build.prop. because my phone was bought from HK and it seemed like the update for HK version was taking forever.
However, a new FW came out yesterday for the HK version.
For everyone that changed their build.prop, I'm sure you have a lot of questions in your mind.
Well actually its quite simple to go back to the HK build.prop
1. Just root your phone again using vRoot.
2. Edit the build.prop files with HK values (1276-0361 and R5A)
and your back to your original build.prop
Plug your phone in and the update will appear.
Updating my phone now! good luck guys!

Dear all,
I like many other people that have the HK version of the c6802 rooted their phone and changed the build prop.
Now it seems like the update of the HK version is out.
I wish to return my build.prop to the HK version.
Will I encounter any problems?
Will the phone not get confused why its build.prop is HK but its version is Taiwan?
I also noticed that after I updated after changing the build.prop values, the values changed after updating.
So yeah what would be the best way to get back to HK build.prop

Basically your phone is not an HK, To or any other country phone. The region is determinate by the firmware installed inside. And from all versions I tried, the only difference is on the bloatware.
Your phone will not get confuse, because the phone itself do not care about where he is from. He only use the firmware he have on, the change on the build.prop only affect the update center.
Best way would be to flashtool with the HK firmware as it wipe all data, so make a factory reset.

Well I have hk version phone,I change build.prop to Taiwan and get latest firmware via pc center then on latest firmware I again change build.prop to Hk and all is set when new Hk firmware will be released I will get update via ota or pc center....

I rooted at 475 and changed my HK build.prop to Vietnam. Received 510 from Sony PC Companion - which I assume unroots the phone. What's the easiest way to get back to a HK build.prop so I can get 526? I assume I don't have root now and therefore can't edit the file....

Look on the same forum where you made your thread. You can dl it on the forum then flash it using flashtool or if you are rooted can modify your build.prop to HK or TW CDA then update from pcc. Via pcc you don't loose your date, via flashtool you loose your data.

Nope, there is nothing specific in the installation which requires s-off. Just boot loader unlocked should be fine. let me know in case you try.

if you had this before on your phone, it might be something to do with the fact that the display DPI was changed in the latest update.
BBM might not have optimized the app to run on this DPI.
edit: tested on the old DPI which sense 5.5 uses and BBM turns up. I think the solution for us users might be to search for the the good old app "Market Enabler" which tricks the play store display all apps. Not sure if that app/trick is working now but atleast yes we know where the issue is.

Can we use "Market Enabler" to show all apps ? I was think it only use to change market location
when I search for a solution , I found some people say you can edit build.prop
Is this true ? I tried but can't save file & my phone is lock , It should be unlock ?
this app is useful but not good enough , because you can just download from google play from browser

You can search for "dpi" on play store and you will get a lot of apps to change the DPI
The current value for the MAX on sense 6 is 400, it was 480 on sense 5.5.
You can change to 480, reboot. This is the same trick as editing the build.prop, where you change the DPI manually.
you just need root to do the DPI trick.
I am not sure if BBM app will act weird after the install, you could install app settings xposed module and get it to work fine, except that it may have big icons compared to other apps )
i am yet to experiment with market helper.

I updated my phone to lollipop but miscellaneous files are taking up 4.2 GB. It looks like it are system files but 4 gb is too much for android. Can i clean some of this space up and how? I dont have root.
Thanks in anvance
Those are filesystem. In KitKat, the storage settings used to show only the 4 Gb you can use. In Lollipop, it shows all the 8 Gb, but you still can use only 4.
But what part of the system is taking so much? I cant imagine this because the update was 700 MB

No, you can't and you don't want to (your system would brake)
