Hi,
I was running BeanStalk-4.4.270 03/18/14 by zymphad. Im not sure what the kernel was.
I tried flashing the ROM by ronasimi in this thread.
The ROM that i picked was cm-11-20140817-UNOFFICIAL-geeb & the kernel was gbx-kernel-lights-CM11.0-CAF.zip. Apart from this i picked the Google Stock package of PA GApps from here.
For flashing i did the following :-
1. backed up all my apps using TB from BeanStalk.
2. loaded the ROM, the kernel & GApps zip files into a folder on my sdcard.
3. rebooted into recovery(TWRP 2.6.xx), backed up my original ROM and lined up all the three flashable zips and flashed them. (The flash was successful)
4. Then i rebooted into system. But after reaching the home screen, i was getting errors "Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped" & "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". I remembered it might be because i forgot to wipe dalvik & cache.
5. I again rebooted into recovery, wiped dalvik & system cache and tried booting into system. It was still giving the same issues.
6. I tried restoring my old ROM's backup. Surprisingly even that wouldn't solve the issue.
7. So i again flashed the CM11 ROMs. But this time, the boot process is getting stuck at the boot animation.
My Qs are as follows:-
1. Did i miss anything or do something that is not recommended (or maybe even dangerous)?
2. What should be my next step in resolving this issue?
Any help appreciated.

I tried flashing using TWRP but the flash failed. then I saw the video and thought of giving philz touch cwm a try. it worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for the help. For kernel I flashed gprojx-kernel-lights-CM11.0-CAF-20140414.zip. Everything seems to be working now. Only thing is that I can't seem to turn off NFC. Every time I deselect the check box, go somewhere else and come back, the NFC check box is already checked.
Any tips on that? It's eating up my battery

Awesome! Thanks a lot man.
One last Q p)- I spent almost 30mins combing through settings but I couldn't find a 3G/2G switch. Is it hidden somewhere or it doesn't exist yet in CM11?

Hello! So as a lot of you may have heard, a lot of people are having problems with lollipop ROMs bootlooping on first boot and not starting up at all! So, I have the same issue. I have a t0ltetmo (Galaxy Note 2 on T-Mobile). And whenever I install a lollipop ROM with the gapps, it says "android is upgrading", and when that's done, it goes into an immediate endless bootloop! I can't get it to work at all! Any ideas? Thanks guys!
you can post your question here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/help/qa-cyanogenmod-12-unofficial-t2976843
Thank you! I'll move this over there.

Try to boot device without gapps
Then if you device is started good, go into recovery, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache. Then flash gapps.
I recommend you to download pico PA gapps. That is the smallest package. Only playstore and google play services, that is enougt. Try this.
Give feedback

I haven't yet tried it with the PA gapps like you said, although I should also add that the ROM doesn't boot without gapps either! I even went as far as formatting my internal memory completely to rule out that it wasn't a file on the internal memory! Same thing, "android is upgrading" (which i've never seen a ROM do after installation) and then a bootloop.
EDIT: I have been using these lollipop gapps. https://s.basketbuild.com/gapps
Bump. Still haven't been able to get this working no matter what I try!
Hi;
So i recently installed CyanogenMod 13.0 on to my Samsung S4 GT-I9505 using the first download link on:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jfltexx --> cm-13.0-20160102-NIGHTLY-jfltexx.zip
That all installed fine, but i wanted to get the Google apps installed aswell, which is where i am having some issues.
I have been trying to install the following package:
http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=nano
but have also tried to install quite a few others as well, and all have exactly the same issue. Basically after the apps have been installed and i boot the device up, i get various error messages like:
unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped
unfortunately, google play services has stopped
Any help on fixing this would be much appreciated, as nothing seems to download from the play store thats included in Cyanogen, they just say "your download will begin shortly" but never does.
Thanks in advance
I am a total noob, but I had exactly this problem. The issue appears to be that you have to flash gapps *before* rebooting after flashing CM. In my case since I had already flashed CM before I flashed gapps I had to put the gapps file on the phone (I did this by push with adb, you might find an easier way), re-flash CM, wipe cache/dalvik, flash gapps, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot. It worked.
The easiest guide I found was on androiding.how, called "how to install cm13 (cyanogenmod13)." (The forum won't let me post a link, just google it, it should come up).
Hope that helps. I'm on a galaxy s5 and used twrp recovery if that matters.

Thanks for the reply, i gave that a try and it seems to be stuck on a loop now with "installing app # of 22" . it completes the installation and then reboots, after about 5 minutes on the Cyanogen boot screen, it goes back to installing apps again.
Hm, did you do a factory reset in your recovery before re-flashing CM and gapps? If not, that might be necessary.

Yeah, i did. Tried it multiple times now
That's about the limit of my ability right there, hopefully someone with more experience than me can point you in the right direction. Good luck.
Boot to recovery (preferably TWRP)
Wipe cache / dalvik cache / data / system
Flash CM13 and the gapps you were trying first
Reboot
Profit!
Since you keep flashing different gapps on top of the system, this is probably causing some issues. Once you fully wipe and reflash everything, it should work.

Ive tried that multiple times using twrp (i always wipe everything before i flash CM13 and gapps), i still get the exact same issue. The second the phone boots, i get all these "unfortunately ******** has stopped".
Perhaps try installing 12.1 with gapps, get it all updated then upgrade to 13. I did the accidental upgrade to 13 but have had no issues whatsoever.
yea so I am running before in cyanogenmod 10.1 with jellybean and I downloaded Cyanogenmod 12.1 from rom manager. I also downloaded gapps downloader from playstore to find gapps there.
I flashed Cyanogenmod 12.1 successful. I installed Gapps successful, too
I am now running in android 5.1.1 but when the phone starts, ALL THE GOOGLE APPS I INSTALLED STOPS. Even in the startup, all the google applications forces closes and the apps is not installed. When I looked in the settings>apps>all
the google apps is there but it is in my sd, it also shows com.google......etc and it is not installed in my device.
The android Keyboard (AOSP) also closes again and again so I cannot type when the phone asks me to input password in my WIFI. SO I AM ****ING STUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****ING STUCK
I wanted to try to flash it back to jellybean, but the Recovery my phone is running is the Cyanogenmod Recovery and there is no back up and restore option.
I want to fix this issue, I mean I still want to run my device on Lollipop. How can I fix this? How to make gapps work and the keyboard,
Take a backup of all your stuff in internal storage.
Download these files onto your SD card.
Kernel- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24407100847293132
TWRP- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960684130
Download the proper Pico gapps from this thread.
After that,
1) Boot into recovery
2) Install the recovery
3) Reboot your device again into recovery. If it does not boot into TWRP recovery then it means you're on an older version of CM 12.1., so flash the kernel first, then the recovery, and try to reboot your device into recovery) If it booted into TWRP then you do not need to flash the kernel.
In TWRP, select 'Wipe', and do a factory reset, after that's done, select install in TWRP and flash Pico Gapps.
thanks for the reply!
but do you think this would work?
do you think the cm recovery would accept this zip files, because I tried to flash my backup applications such as games, and other stuff and it showed err signature verification failed.

Man, I have successfully done that.I have flashed TWRP recovery and flashed kernel.
But i cant install gapps..
I tried installing gapps for Android 4.2.1 and it worked AHAHAHAHAHA. But when I rebooted it, com.google...etc stil, all of the closes. (unfortunately com.google,etc. has stopped) even the AOSP the android keyboard isnt working.
I have some gapps working now, THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE NOW IS THAT THIS ****ASS AOSP KEYBOARD UNFORTUNATELY STOPPED MESSAGE EVERY 2 secs AND I CANT TYPE,
What error does it show when you try to install gapps?
And by gapps I mean the one for android 5.1.

there is no error anymore. i installed 3rd party keyboard. thanks mate )
i mean the gapps are working but when I sync my google acc, it syncing error. they are working but after for about 5 mins or later, com.google.process.gapps unfortunately stops so i cant use it and more error stuff comes out. I think I am having issues with GApps, basically. how the hell i can fix this. I tried so many gapps from the xda thread, youtube, and other forums for 5.1.x. still, they unfortunately stop.
Take a backup of your stuff.
Download GApps (ARM/5.1/pico) from this link.
http://opengapps.org/
Copy paste the .zip file into your SD Card.
Boot into recovery (TWRP) and wipe /data, /cache, /dalvik cache
After that is done, install the open_gapps-arm-5.1-pico-xxxxxxxx.zip
Reboot your phone.
Now the unfortunately stopped error will be fixed.
that is what I have downloaded. I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache. and installed gapps
it says Insufficient storage space available in system partition. you may want to use a smaller Open GApps package or consider removing some apps using gapps-config.
NO changes were made to your device
Error Code: 70
E: Error executing updater binary in zip
Are you sure you used the pico version of gapps?

That's weird. Download Diskinfo from Playstore and post a screenshot of it. I'd like to know the space free in /system partition of your device.
Man, this is what I did
And yea, I figured it out.
1. Factory reset
2. Flash Rom
3. Flash Gapps
5. Wipe Cache / Dalvik Cache
6. Reboot
THANKS FOR SOME HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a mistake. I forgot to put the 2nd step. it should be "Wipe system partition" and yea it worked.
Flash this recovery on the community build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20236
And then flash the super SU file via recovery:

Let me know if this works or you need any help ?

The only thing is that I can't get xposed installer to work properly. When I install it (v86 sdk23 arm) , every time that I tap on recent apps button, system ui crashes, so, I flashes the Uninstaller zip, and everything went well. But I miss xposed, if anybody has a solution, I would appreciate it

Maybe the problem is not xposed itself, maybe the issue is related to an specific module. I'll try one by one tomorrow and see what happens, thank you!
Just delete the . rar part. This one worked for me I think your right though maybe bad file.

I know what the problem was. My xposed zip was correct. As I thought, it was because of a module. "Android N-fy", in recents, I just had to uncheck quick switch and change no recent image and that was it. I don't know if that module is optimized for this oos especific build, because in settings of the phone, the module does not change as much as in lollipop oos. Thank you tho

Make sure you have both .zip files on your phone, clean flash 3.1.1 then boot it up. If you don't like it, you can go back to 2.2.2 via stock recovery anytime. You don't even need twrp unless you want to root, install Xposed or backup.
might be a bit off-topic but...
i was coming from sultans cm13 build - flashed stock recovery - wiped system - installed the community build.
So far so good
System works fine, but wifi drains system like hell (37% usage)
So i installed bluespark twrp and wanted to wipe cache & dalvik/art at once
-> initially i got an error -> "can´t mount /cache - invalid argument" (or so) - tried only to wipe cache and then it worked on the 3rd attempt...
But - after restarting only 12 Apps are "optimized", altough i have 100+ apps installed.... so i expect some filesystem/partition issue
Did you ever have this behaviour ?
I´m thinking about to do a full wipe in twrp and reinstall the community build -> other suggestions ?

Sounds like you forgot to wipe data. Wipe system, data, cache and just flash 3.1.1. As for wifi drain it's not real and happens when you have wifi scanning on under location. Turn it off, reset network settings under backup/reset. Now reboot and should be gone. Turning off and rebooting might be enough but doesn't hurt to add network reset. Next cycle after reboot and full charge should be clean.

It's not the place, but I can confirm that it didn't work for me. I still have the drain from time to time.
And if I don't have the Wifi drain I have a service Google Play service drain (33% for today's charge for example...).
And sometimes, I even had the wifi drain with Wifi completly switched off...
