if you by this mean that you press the tip of your stylus into the hole in the left part of button of the xda once then yes
then try to turn it on using the turn on / off button
I tried, but it did not turn on, when I put it to cradle led is green, but when I get it out of cradle I do not see any light on led. I tried to power it on pushing that button, but nothing happens
is anybody able to help me?
If it neither works in the cradle or on battery power then I would suspect a component on the charging circuit has died or your battery is kaput, by doing a reset it should switch on automatically.
but holding power button and doing soft reset I could get to wallaby bootloader, so battery does work. any other suggestions?
If holding power and rest works then the power button is functional, have you attempted to flash the xda before this happened? What happens if you push the green telephone button bottom left of your xda? Have you tried a hard reset, using the unscrewed top half of stylus to push once in the tiny hole bottom right of xda, leave for 1 minute then push once more. You will lose all data but your data isnt much good if you cant switch on.
yes, I tried to hard reset it several times, but had no result. now I am trying to wait for several minutes during hard reset. when I press green button - nothing happens. I did not try to flash my XDA before those problems appeared. no it did not turn on even after 5 minutes... :-( please help!!!!
I had installed KSE TrueFax 2 and this power issue happened to me. Could not switch it on at the XDA at all, and had to so a soft-reset to get it to switch on. After I uninstalled the fax sowftware, everything worked okay again.
so you can power phone on pressing button and dping soft reset. yes? what do you see? wallaby bootloader? what to do next to run operational system? I just see 4 color stripes and below GSM OK, that is all, what should I press?
dmjass, it seems to me that you have lost or corrupted your rom, if you havent been flashing the xda its beyond me why this should happen. I would download a new rom, not radio stack, just the rom and use the sd card method of flashing, this should restore your system if the hardware is all ok, you have a working bootloader and an intact gsm stack so give it a try as you have nothing to lose by doing this.
I think trying to do the SD-card ROM update is your best bet as well.
If it turns out that you cannot get your unit running again, I would be interested in purchasing it for testing purposes and replacement parts.
Good luck!

thank you friends for your advices, but please let me know how to perform flashing rom by sd card. I will appreciate all your help, please describe that process in details. ok? thank you.
PDA bad ROM?
I am experiencing the same problem after having dropped it off my belt clip. Now the unit just says "Welcome to T---Mobile, G324e4 // R6.25.02 // 4.01.16 and none of the buttons work except for the boot stylus ones. Can anyone help?
Hi everybody.
I have recently brought a Nook Tablet. I rooted it,far so good, then i unroot it and here there is the problem. It restart but when i go to register my e-mail and password comes out a notification:"sorry we're having trouble setting up your nook.please shutdown the device and try again.if problem persists, contact customer support at...". I do the hard reset many times, but nothing.I contact the support and they cancelled the e-mail associated(i hope that they did) but the problem persist
What should i do? next week my uncle return in America, and if you can help me quickly i would be grateful,i want resolve, no bring it back. thanks
I did a hard reset....you can find it here on the forum (do a search)
Sound like a deep sleep from NC. Make sure your NT is charged at least 15 minutes. In the case of deep sleep, turn the volume up to hear if the device is on when the screen is not. Hold the power button for 20 seconds, release then do hold the power button until the screen turn on. If it does not work, you can still do a full factory restore even if the screen is not on.
TRY holding vol down + power for around 8 secs
i've done a full factory restore more times. When i register my e-mail with password, always comes out the error. Is not a problem of B&N server? In each case it's possible to root without registration ? maybe start the tablet directly by the micro-sd?
So I was working on my nt and opened tapatalk and the screen went dead. I used the method above (hold pwr for 20 sec, then hold pwr until it turns on) and this worked for me.
I think that the problem is the registration! The Nook starts well, when i put the e-mail comes out the error. I try all ways to reset the tablet but the problem persist
There is a way to start without registration?
so what was the solution? I do have the same problem. Did factory restore a few times but still the same error as andrea89 had. I did root before 1.4.1 update, restored 1.4.0 as here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402190. Rooted again. to get rid of N button inoperative work I restarted 8 times my Nook. and Now the same problem as andrea89...Please help!
I resolved the problem by-passing the registration. Search the video how doing.

this might seem obvious but why not just make another bn.com account?
It isn't obvious because the video is recently. I tried to register with another account but it didn t work.
Another account did not work. I used the video to bypass registration as well. Worked great!
Not sure If this should be here or not. I've tried my best to search for anything similar.
I have a Sony Ericsson Neo V MT11I and I unlocked it using a program, with my USB Cable.
The unlock cost me £13 and it worked fine. I checked the phone, and It was making calls and working fine.
A few hours later, it was off, so I put in the charger and nothing. No screen or activity. The green light next to the power button comes on and If I connect it to my computer, the computer detects it, then doesn't. (I hear the new device done every minute or so). When it detects then detects its unconnected the green light flashes once.)
It was working fine after I unlocked it, but this seems to of happened hours after I unlocked it.
Thanks for any help!
Hm, sounds to me like your phone entered some sort of bootloop, it can't even go to that image which you see when you charge phone(turned off).
Maybe that's why it founds it, then it disappear, and then it founds it again, and so on.
Can you please try 2 things.
1)hold back key and connect cable to phone (of course, other side is in PC)
2)hold menu key(that's the right one, some people confuse it with home key ) and connect cable(of course, other side is in PC)
Report what happens then. To be more safe, can you please re-insert battery between 1 and 2 (and also before 1) )
Hi Buddy,
While pressing the Menu key, and connecting it, the light remains off, until I release the button. Now I've done this, there is no sound on the computer. Even If I connect it normally without pressing any key.
Thanks,
You didn't answered on my entire question.
Plus, how did you unlocked it? And by unlock, you mean SIM unlock(able to use any SIM card)?
I did that and until I let go of the menu key the light didn't come on, now it lights up upon plugin, but I hear no activity on my computer.
I used wotanserver . com/en/sony-ericsson to sim unlock it, and sorry If I was not clear!
Thanks again.
back key, back key, you didn't answer me on that part
anw, try flashing it with wotan.
Sorry for the late reply. I flashed it, and it's now working fine. I would like to thank you for your help, I'd buy you a pint If I could.
Hello everyone,
i got a problem with my z ultra and have tried looking similar problem on this forum but none of the solution seems working.
Please note that i have a stock phone, never did anything to it including unlocking rooting etc as i have no idea what it is, just casual usage.
So the problem occured when i tried to move an apps from sd card to my internal storage, and then my phone freezed midways,
the phone went unresponsive just showing the freezing screen.
Then i pushed the red button near the sim tray hoping the phone will reboot as i had similar problem before, and thought that it was just another minor problem and it worked.
But this time after pushing the red button the phone wont reboot again after i try to turn it on again using the power button, only a vibration but the screen showed no display whatsoever.
Ive been looking a solution on this forum with similar problem and there was a suggestion to connect the phone to power source and push the power and + vol together but there was only vibration thrice without indication of my problem has been solved.
Ive also tried a solution on youtube to disconnect the power cable, charge it to power source, wait for the Red LED to blink and reconnect the power cable again but it wasnt working.
Long story short after trying several method now my phone only blinking Red LED 3 times when i tried to turn it on, i tried to charge it to full but the Red LED keeps showing on even after i discharged it, so i had to push the power and + vol button to turn it off.
I suspect that my phone is hardbricked looking at the symptomps
Please anybody here could help me to fix it?
It's probably not hard-bricked.
Try this,
1, connect your USB cable to PC (without phone connected to it )
2, press volume up button and then plug in the usb cable to your phone
3, if light goes blue colour then you are back in business and you can still revive your phone
step 3 if successfull means your phone is up with fastboot mode and you can upload a recovery via flashtool
let me know your results ,

American Network Solutions (ANS) mobile phones provided by Assurance Wireless (Virgin Mobile) have been known to boot loop, freeze, stay frozen, crash, (right out of the box, brand new) and worse there is inaccurate or completely wrong information on how to do a factory reset and reboot the device. Below I will outline how to reboot the phone and perform a hard factory-reset with no home button on this cellphone.
Problem: Phone won’t turn off, won’t restart, or is stuck on and has no removable battery.
Solution: Keep the phone on and unplugged until battery dies or perform a hard reboot (see below).
Problem: My cell-phone is stuck on and there is no home button to do a hard reset
Solution: Perform a hard reboot. To restart a phone without taking out the battery, simply hold the Volume Up button, the home button (do not press if there is none obviously) and the Power button at the same time. While you hold these simultaneously, the phone will reboot in about 5 to 10 seconds.
Problem: I can’t factory reset my ANS UL40 phone (American Network Solutions) from Assurance Wireless by Virgin Mobile because I can’t get into the recovery menu.
Solution: Turn the phone off (or do a hard reset by holding the Volume-Up Button and the On-Button. Phones with no home button all reboot like this so just wait a few moments and the phone will restart.
Problem: My new mobile phone from Assurance Wireless gets stuck on the loading screen!
Solution: Perform a hard reboot (Volume Up + Power) then when it restarts and you’re on the white Assurance Wireless screen, stop holding power and only hold Volume Up. Keep pressing-and-holding the Increase Volume button and after a while you will be navigated to the Factory Reset Menu. You can wipe the cache partition only or perform a factory reset (which will also wipe the cache). To move around on the menu, use the volume keys (increase volume goes up, decrease volume goes down) and to select your entry simply use the power button (the on button). If this still doesn’t work, see further instructions in the solutions below.
Problem: Phone is frozen on loading screen, stuck in boot-loop even after factory reset/wiping cache partition.
Solution: After you have factory reset or wiped the cache partition you can also choose to install an update from the internal memory or sd-card. If you select this option it will perform a more rigorous factory reset then since you won’t have a package to install it will cancel. I’ve noticed my device getting out of the boot loop once I did this process and it was stuck on the boot screen even after I did a factory reset.
Problem: Can’t get to the recovery menu with my government assistance phone.
Solution: Turn off the phone and with the volume up button held down, power the device on. Keep holding both buttons until you see the white “American Network Solutions” screen with the outline of an eagle. At this point release the power button and continue to hold the volume-up key. After about 5 seconds you will now be inside the Recovery Menu and can do a factory reset.
Problem: My phone has no home button and I need to hard reboot to get to the Recovery Menu and perform a factory reset!
Solution: Hold the Volume-Up Button and the Power Button at the same time. for at least 10 seconds. Your device will restart and after the white ANS screen shows, stop holding the power button. Continue holding the increase audio key until you are at the Factory Reset / Recovery Menu screen. Use the volume buttons to navigate the menu and use the on button to select your choice.
Problem: My phone hangs on the blue Assurance Wireless screen.
Solution: See Above.
Even on the Virgin Mobile and Assurance Wireless websites and in the owner’s manual it says to hold the Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key and to keep holding them until you’re in Recovery Menu. This isn’t going to work for two reasons on the UL40: 1) It has no home button! and 2) it will just keep rebooting every 5 seconds if you hold the power button down constantly. You have to hold the Volume-Up Button and the Power Button until the phone reboots and then let go of the power button while still holding the volume up button. Keep holding the volume up key until you’re into Recovery Mode.
I hope this helps as the information online is either incomplete or completely wrong. Some places say to keep holding the power button along with the volume up key and if you do that the device will just keep restarting, effectively creating a boot loop where there wasn’t any before. Genius! lol. I figured this out after my device, fresh out of the box, froze while charging on the blue Assurance Wireless screen. Finally OCD is good for something! These phones are supposed to be a “Lifeline” but I’d be hard-pressed to get ANYTHING on the line with this potato. Avoid at all costs unless absolutely necessary.
Enjoy.

Is it possible to swap my UL40 for a normal phone I can use JUST to make necessary calls to relatives or EMS folks for help if I need it? This Obama phone is far to smart for me.
You have to call ASSURANCE; or go online to your ASSURANCE account and try to SWAP phones. Good luck.
Note: The UL40 is pure JUNK. DOJ is looking into multiple fraud claims.

Cell phones are like min-computers. For instance, if you don't like ads on the internet you have to use an ad blocker. It is the same with cell phones. Apparently before smart phones the Assurance Wireless phones were not as much lie computers and did not have ads, but now they do.
Does anyone know of a way to bypass the lock screen?
My father died suddenly with the phone in his pocket. Looking to get pictures off of it as well as investigate any communications leading up to this death.
Willing to do anything to prove this is legitimate. Sign a document, show my identity, even pay someone to unlock it, etc.
And to those "give the phone back to its rightful owner" people in advance - my father's body was not discovered until ~3-4 days after his death, so it was partially decomposed. I can send pictures of the UL40 phone soaked in the bloody ooze from his decomposing skin if you're interested. Took hours of cleaning to make the stench of death go away :victory:
