After updating my firmware to 5.1.1 lollipop (Pre Rooted) and downloading Androplus (the latest one), my Wi-Fi isn't working every time I try to turn it on. Now why's that? I tried rebooting but of course that wouldn't help at all. Still haven't tested if it can call. But on the bright side, my Bluetooth and my mobile data work. It's just the Wi-Fi. Please help. Thank you.

Have you tried wiping your amd seeing if the problem is still there? That's what I'd do forsake basic debugging.
Take a nandroid backup,
Wipe phone,
Boot phone and test,
Recovery backup.

Oh, sorry! I'll be more specific now. No it's not after wiped my phone. Will a full on factory reset do the trick?
Edit: I'm prepared to loose data sure. I'm gettin' tired of this so this will probably be the last thing I'll do about modifying my phone. This is how it happened, I was trying to update my phone into 5.1.1 using this stock pre rooted firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ck-d6502-03-23-4-0-546-completeguide-t3171219 (D6503)
And after flashing that, I flashed into the latest Androplus Kernel because it's 5.1.1 and after that, I reboot into system and tried testing my Wi-Fi and it didn't work. Same for hotspot as well (of course) but, Bluetooth works very well, and that is how I got here.
I think it's because of my current firmware.

My point is we don't know what you've done to your phone and that's why I suggested factory reset. Have you modified any system files like build.prop? Have you installed xposed?
Take a nandroid backup and factory reset your phone.
If, issue is fixed there is something wrong with your data. You can recovery apps one by one until you encounter the issue.
Else if, issue is not fixed it's either kernel or rom related. Recovery your data from the backup and consider changing kernel or rom.
This will just give you ideas of things to look at.

Hi,
first I already searched for similar problems but i didn't find any thread that helped.
So.. I've SGSII with the official stock rom and not rooted, the phone was working fine and I've used the bluetooth before several times without any problems.
suddenly I needed to receive files via bluetooth, but once i turn it on the device start rebooting endlessly .. till i turn the bluetooth off
it will reboot every 10 seconds so I've to turn the bluetooth immediately once it start..
I'm using the official rom JPKJ2 2.3.5 with it's stock kernal, and never rooted the device before.
is it a manufacturer problem ? or something else ?
and how can I fix it ?
excuse my bad english, and thanks in advance =)

If it's worth the trouble then Try Factory Reset... Since your device is not rooted. Get CallLogBackupRestore and SMSBackupRestore free from playstore to backup your sms and call log. coz your device will wipe all data. Test see if it runs fine with factory defaults
check for the latest bt update?i mean is ur bt up to date?

Cool, anytime.
Hi,
I am rooted on my S3 and all is good. However, my Father also has an S3 and last week he was talked into rooting it by his Grandson. All went well but long story short he was not happy with having a rooted phone so has decided to remove root. He has now done so by following various guides. He used Triangle away which he says went successfully and has used Odin to put the latest stock firmware on the phone which again he says went successfully. I was not there when he did all this but phone seems all good.
Except one thing. He has tried to install a couple of apps he had before rooting. Barclays bank app and Sky Go app. After installation these apps are saying they will not work on a rooted phone, but it's not rooted any more. I have booted into recovery using Volume down, power and home buttons and it says custom firmware / rom, I can't remember exact wording, but it says no. Also in the phone menu where a rooted phone says modified in device status it says normal or whatever it should say. Again can't remember exactly but all looks like no root present.
Anyone got any ideas on this? As I am rooted on my S3 and never un-rooted it yet, I do not know if he should have done something else. Will he have to root again to run triangle away or anything else. Or can this be fixed as the phone is at present?
Thanks for any help guys.
Cheers, Rich

One basic question..are you still able to go into recovery..vol up+power+home..if yes you are still rooted...you need to find your stock firmware and flash it via odin
check if it was a stock firmware your father flashed orcustom ROM o.follow this guide to do it again

Sounds like maybe triangle away didnt properly remove the count, was the firmware he downloaded the official one for his phone? Was it previously branded or anything like that?
go supersu and click remove root

Hi,
He has superSu on the phone. Presumably it has downloaded from the play store when restoring the phone. However, he tried to uninstall it which just removed the updates. Couldn't go any further. It is now asking for updates which he has done. But when he tries to launch Super SU it says no apps configured and won't go any further. I think the fact that super su is on the phone, the apps are thinking it is rooted. I am doing this all over the phone so can't see what's happening.
I'm wondering if the way to go now would be another factory reset and when restoring everything, try not to let play store instal super su. Would this be the way to go, or can we get super su off the phone without a reset?
Cheers, Rich
Try uninstalling super su with titanium backup. Then factory reset. Are you sure you have flashed a stock ROM and not a rooted one. This doesnt sound right.

Hi,
Trying to do these things with him over the phone ain't easy. I may just go and get the phone and do it myself.
He does have supersu on the phone and it is working, well it's installed anyway but obviously does not do the root things as the phone is un-rooted. There is an option in supersu settings to remove root but will this work as the phone is not rooted? Question is how on earth do I remove supersu. Do i need to re-root and remove it that way?
Cheers, Rich

Can't uninstall via Titanium backup as he is no longer rooted unless he roots the phone again. It is a stock rom. It was downloaded via the official rom thread on here.

This works very well for me
I have a note 2 that I kept stock for a long time. And decided to root it about a week ago. I used the latest casual one click root. And it seemed all dandy initially until i went between a few different roms and it decided it wanted to shut off randomly and not boot back up past the note 2 screen on its own. But the odd part was it booted while connected to the wall or to the computer. So I flashed to 4.1.2 stock via odin and the issue still remains. I can only use it fine on charger. Is there something else im missing on flashing back to stock?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Free mobile app
Hmm when you installed 4.3 did you do so wiping everything could be an app causing the problem. Try it from brand new with no apps installed and see if that helps. Could be also a radio issue as well.
Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
Yeah I wiped everything. Actually used odin twice to revert to stock 4.1.2. I tried a few cm nightlies before it began. Is there anything else I should flash on top of whats already been done?

I've found that even after using ODIN to go back to stock 4.1.2, that there's still leftover data on the phone from custom ROM's. I've read where others had the same issue. I don't know why Odin doesn't seem to fully wipe everything ... but this has been my personal experience.
The way I've fixed this (and all this may not be necessary).. . is that after Odin'ing back to stock 4.1.2, I boot into stock recovery, then do a full factory reset and wipe cache. Then I booted into the stock Rom and used the bypass setup trick (touch the left side of the screen right above Emergency... then right side, then left, then right again, and then volume up... this should bypass setup to save time).
Then went into phone's settings and performed a factory reset from within the stock Rom too...
Finally... (because I'm a bit OCD... so this is probably not necessary), but I ODIN'd back to stock 4.1.2 one more time and then proceeded with using CASUAL again to root /unlock the bootloader).
I know this is a pain in the butt... but this has worked for me. Maybe others will have some better suggestions.
(Edit : Forgot to mention that if you're not wanting to return to stock to start over again... check out this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53624921) on how to flash a stock recovery for the purposes of doing a proper data wipe... then can you odin your custom recovery back to the device without having to fully restore to stock... this can be a real time saver. Please make sure to thank the OP for the helpful info).
So in the end I tried to reset from stock recovery and wipe cache. Than do a reset from the settings and the issue presisted. But now I have root and recovery as well. So I may give a rom a try.

This is totally a guess, but I'm thinking that you may have a battery problem... and it's just a coincidence that these problems started happening around the same time that you rooted. You may try replacing the battery to see if that fixes things.... (you can get one pretty cheap off ebay or Amazon).
Yeah thats odd. I had bought another battery from a phone store I use to work at and have no issues now, back on 4.1.1 rooted.

Not sure what went wrong, but I've just had to use flashtool. I decided to flash one of the stock roms available. I don't feel any of what resulted was fault of the Rom so I won't specify. I made another backup of my tweaked Rom, and wiped as instructed and installed. Everything flashed ok but the Rom was a little buggy so I decided to restore my tweaked backup. Rebooted to reovery, wiped then selected which backup to restore. In short, the backup was showing no partitions available to restore and wouldn't work. So, I chose my original backup of stock and that showed everything so I restored. From there, the backup said complete so I rebooted. I ended up with the flashing red and blue led and could only boot to twrp. I tried to reflash the Rom zip but it failed to open. So here I am after using flashtool, which was an adventure as well. I'm curious if anyone else at all has had a similar experience? Is it possible my twrp was corrupt in some way?

Had you ever tried to restore you backups prior? Just to make sure you had a good backup.
Did you use compression in TWRP? It's been an issue in the past. At least with the OG it was.
I have no other ideas. Sorry you had to go through that. But at least you got it fixed.

Is this after Flashtool? The only way I know of to get it back is ##RTN#. And you'll need your MSL.
You shouldn't have Wi-Fi calling either then. That's the clincher.
Be safe and backup your EFS first though.

To be safe, boot into recovery and try to restore your backup. If you don't see the partitions listed, then it's probably compression.
Edit:

Yep yep - Im glad this is my second LG, I never use compression thanks to all I've learned from the lgog. That sucks though dude, but lesson learned.
For the record, I've flashed several things and restored several backups already(I have two, odexed stock and deodexed stock) without any issues.

You should always wipe first IMO. There's always ghosts in the machine. It's just an added measure to give you a clean restore/flash. Most people that have issues with roms don't wipe, and dirty flash/restore.
I've never had an issue wiping all 4. And compression just seems to never work right. At least with all the G series.

If you wipe all four and your twrp isn't on your external SD card you're screwed if you want to restore.
I always wipe when installing roms, just not restoring. Habit from using phones without ext.
I also thought I saw a wipe script built into the restore option.
I called Sprint today to get my MSL. I needed to use the ##RTN# code to get the WiFi calling app and the other stuff back after flashtool. They had me do a factory reset first to see if that would do it but then gave me my MSL without question.
Thanks again for all the info learned in this thread. I finally got around to re-rooting and re-bumping and all were smooth and easy.

What version of TWRP, and more importantly, what version of SuperSU? I would recommend this version of supersu: https://download.chainfire.eu/932/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip and instead of factory resetting, after you install supersu in TWRP, just clear cache and dalvik

I tried with both versions 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 of TWRP. I tried with whatever version of SuperSU is included in TWRP. I tried to install it when TWRP detects that SuperSU is not installed and it asks you if you would like to install it. Perhaps this is a known issue and I am just not aware of it? I will try downloading the recommended version above and flashing the .zip in TWRP manually this weekend.
Thanks all for your input!
