Hello everyone,
Yesterday i've got my hands on an old Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 16GB and since i'm a fan of CM i wanted to install it.
The problem begins when i try to flash with Odin, no matter which version, USB Port, PIT File or what i'm trying to Flash it gets stuck at "Get pit for Mapping".
I tried on two PCs one with Windows 7 and one with XP but no luck.
The phone works perfectly with the Stock ROM 4.3 and i'm trying to figure out what is wrong with it.
I can't Root it, i can't Flash a Custom Recovery and i NEED HELP PLEASE.
1. Enable developer options (google it).
2. Enable adb (in developer options).
3. Grab all this : https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B4vTiHTBB629ZW5vQndpbjFnblk/edit
4. Put phone in download mode and connect to pc.
5. Install drivers (the one with 15 in the filename works for me in xp).
6. Run odin and click pda, select the rom.
7. Click start and wait for "pass"
8. Put phone in download mode and flash cfautoroot via odin (click pda and select cfautoroot).
9. Click start and let the device do its reboot with the red writing etc..
10. You now have 2 choices for flashing a custom recovery. Mobile odin or pc odin must be used. If there is no custom recovery file in the link i provided i recommend the official website only for obtaining the file. If you use pc odin you need the .tar file and flash via pda again. If you use mobile odin you need the .zip and the process is obvious.
Good luck.

Hello mate and thanks for your help, i tried to do your list but when i try to flash it still hangs on "Get PIT for Mapping".
BTW when you say enable ADB you mean the USB Debbuging right?
What else can i try?
Yes i mean usb debugging. Looks like the partition table (pit) is definitely corrupt. If you cannot flash another pit file then your device needs jtag or call it dead.

ATTENTION! Do NOT use the download links for Odin in the OP! It has been reported that the link will install malware on your computer. If you need Odin 3.07 or 3.09, I have attached them to the bottom of this post, both files are 100% safe. They're zip files, just extract the folder inside to your desktop; to run Odin just double click the .exe file, yes it's that easy. @Faiyaz5yaz thank you for making this thread, it is always a good thing to instruct users how to root their devices, but please either change the Odin download link or at the very least remove it from the OP. Unfortunately it messed up another user's computer so bad he had to reinstall windows

C,
when you flash recovery with odin you must DESELECT auto restart.
when the flash is done [res-ok] disconnect your tab and manually reboot to RECOVERY.
then reboot as normal.

Device: Samsung s6 Edge
Model #: G925-W8
On currently 5.1.1
Tried for the past few days, if someone successfully helps me install either the xtrestolite or any rom that improves battery performance, i'll send them $10 via paypal. Cheers
I don't want your 10 dollars but you can start from following link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/canadian-odin-5-1-1-bootloader-twrp-t3196595
1. Install Samsung USB Drivers
2. Download and Open Odin
3. Download TWRP/Philz recovery for G925W8 (Canadian)
4. Put phone in download mode and connect to computer via cable.
5. Click on AP in Odin and select the .tar recovery file and click on start. (Make sure don't play with other options in Odin)
6. Copy the ROM zip file to internal sd and flash via recovery(Start phone in recovery)
7. You might face many problems like Wi-Fi won't turn on etc because you have different variant. (Ask the ROM dev for the WiFi fix for W8 variant)
Good luck!

You can only unlock the bootloader for now. As of the time this is being posted there is no known working root for the A21s.

Download the most recent firmware of ur a21s. Unzip your downloaded firmware and you will get 4 tar files. You will need the AP tar archive. Install 7-zip on ur PC. Decompress the AP tar file. Go in the folder in that you decompressed ur tar and archive these files "boot.img,vbmeta.img" in tar. Install the magisk app on ur a21s and push the file from PC to a21s. In magisk select in "magisk" section install then "Select and patch file" and browse and select ur tar with boot.img and vbmeta.img. After patching transfer the file from ur phone to PC, and download odin. Power off your phone and then press volume down and up and insert usb cable. Open odin select AP and browse for ur patched tar. After select ur AP make sure u DON'T chosed nand erase and repartition and press start. The phone will reboot in recovery and u have to do wipe data partition. Before doing these make sure u unlocked the bootloader and make backups. And making this, you will lose ur warranty. BTW there is exist a twrp unofficial recovery that didn't boot loop ur phone to odin mode. If you want to flash the twrp put ur phone to download and in odin chose AP and browse to the twrp tar u downloaded.

I think you should download and flash latest firmware. You can download from this site:
samfw.com
Hello,
thank you for your help i have repaired the boot. it was a question of firmware indeed but beware for tablets version T225 "N" the firmware is not the same and is more difficult to find. they are not offered on dedicated sites.
i'm a sound lover, so i rooted my Samsung to get Viper4AndroidFx working.
I guess that this method is almost universal for Samsung devices, bit i'm not sure about that so be careful with this.
-you will void warranty for your device-
--Root access on the SM-A21F with the newest Firmware(A217FXXU8DVG4) update and Android 12--
if you are new to all of this search for all the things need first.(I used just heimdall for flashing, because JOdin3CASUAL throws error at me because of a corrupted pit file, don't know how to workaround this)
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT FIRMWARE FOR THE FLASH!!!
Needs:
-Linux Machine for flashing tool Heimdall(try ubuntu studio for sound experience)
sudo apt install heimdall
There is also a frontend(GUI) for this tool:
sudo apt install heimdall-frontend
(install heimdall first, then the frontend)
-samloader Firmware tool(search for instructions to get the right Firmware)
-lz4 compression librarys to decompress the boot.img from stock firmware
-Magisk app(magisk from f-droid works)
-USB debugging allowed and OEM unlock enabled on your Samsung phone(search for developer options to do this and long press vol-up in Download mode)
1. get the firmware with samloader, decode, decompress, rename to ZIP and open the archive.Decompress the AP section, decompress the boot.img.lz4
2.put the boot.img on your phones storage to patch it with Magisk.
3.put the patched boot.img back on your Computer in a new folder and rename it back to it's original name boot.img
-make sure your phone is charged before you flash the image!
4.connect your device in download mode to the Computer(for SM-A217F:turn off the phone, press vol+ and vol- hold it both and connect the USB cable)
5.open a terminal window in the new folder where the patched and renamed boot.img is placed and type sudo heimdall print-pit, it shows the partition table of your device, for --BOOT you can also type the number of the partition as it's shown in the pit file)
sudo heimdall flash --BOOT boot.img
If anything goes wrong you can always flash back the original boot.img from downloaded stock firmware or unroot your device this way.
After this your device is rooted but there is no Twrp custom recovery for ths model yet.
The unofficial release which can be found on xda doesn't work for me. I've flashed it but got stuck in download mode.
Flashing works fine with other rooting tools but there is no way to get rid of the unrooted stock recovery yet.
I cannot guarantee you that this guide won't Brick your phone. Just be careful with the re-partition options in Odin, if you want to use it. All the work can be done with linux, heimdall and magisk.
heimdall print-pit will show the partititition table from your device.
--+no warranties. What works for me must not work for others.
For everyone who wants to root and no method has worked for him, or you have errors, or your device has not booted after the root.
You can follow the following explanation
Firstly, I used sm-a217f/ds phone
The baseband version is A217FXXU8DVG4
And its protection is U8
Android 12
First of all, you must disable the bootloader ... and this is very important so that no errors occur ... and also do a factory reset for your phone. So you should transfer all your important files before that
1- Get your official ROM from any trusted site
2- Decompress the ROM file and it will show you all the ROM files AP - BL - CP - CSC - HOME_CSC
3- Take the AP file and transfer it to your phone
4- Then download the latest version of the Magisk application
5- Then open the application and inject the AP file into it
6- The injection process takes a relatively long time. I think it takes five minutes or less, depending on the size of the AP file
7- After the injection process is complete, you will find the file that was injected with Magisk in the download files
8- Take the injected file and put it into the computer
9- Then open the Odin application and put the file that was injected into the AP box
10- Put all the rest of the files in your ROM file into Odin
11- We cancel the autorun mode from Odin
12- Then press Start
13- After the process is completed, restart the phone and remove the USB cable, and the phone will ask you to do a factory reset again, and press OK
14- Now the phone supports root
15- After unlocking the phone, install the Magisk app again
16- The application will ask you to download an additional component, click OK, and the phone will restart again
17- Now you have a rooted phone that has been linked to the Magisk application
I think this is the easiest explanation of rooting in detail
And good luck to all of you.
