Hi guys,
i started this with a oneplus x 2.1.2. i wiped the dalvik system and cache and tried to install the 2.1.3x full zip. i got the error message Error executing updater binary ... then i tried to wipe the data also but it didnt change. i still get this error message. i also tried different zips (all of them were full zips of course).
the oneplus x was rooted, twrp 2.8.7.0. i dont have a backup. the recovery is still accessible.
how can i get my phone functional again?
Same here! Unable to install any custom Rom (I've tried to install some, including Resurrection Remix and CM12) because of that error.
Searching solution all around a million of forums, but it seems that nothing can solve this problem, so I turned back to stock.
(I've also tried with the stock recovery, but it failed too)
Sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian. ?

Have you tried doing a re-flash of TWRP from fastboot mode?
Remove the first line in the updater.script file and it will work.

What is the error? You could also try updating your recovery and reflashing it (don't forget to format partitions and factory reset).

That ROM can't be flashed with newer versions of CWM because it uses amend scripting.
I found the problem... the problem is the sim card not compatible with the rom, i remove it and the phone boot normal and after the initial configurazione re insert the sim... thank you

I've unpacked the official CM13 snapshot flashable zip, replaced the files with COS13 system files and updated the boot.img
So finally, I got a full COS13 ZIP, including system, boot and firmware. Untouched. If you want to root, I recommend using Boeffla + Boeffla's su script
As it is COS, it includes GAPPS and CAPPS
It can be flashed coming from any ROM, since it will wipe and reflash system and firmware, BUT YOU SHOULD WIPE DATA, CACHE AND DALVIK.
I recommend using TugaPower's TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=50417
Installation:
1. Download the zip
2. Wipe Data, dalvik and cache (except if you come from COS12.1, but then you could use the incremental update)
3. Flash the ROM
4.Flash Boeffla & SU (optional)
5. Enjoy!!
If you like, hit thanks button!!!!

-Cerberus removed (rom extracted from a clean flash and ota update)
-Lockscreen issues fixed (there was a problem with gatekeeper due to MM changes, I've been looking around and learning, and then I knew that I should use snapshot's file_contexts instead of CM12.1S' ones)
build3
-fixed bug: some crappy lines in updater script were modifying symlinks and bugging some binaries
-used 7-zip maximum compression for a 30mb lighter zip
-Now updater script is ultra clean: everything is in DAT images
build2

YOU MUST REFLASH BUILD2 IF YOU FLASHED BUILD1... build1 had only 1mb left in /system.... sorry for that, you can dirty flash without wiping and it'll be perfect

That's strange... what error are you facing?
have you wiped data, cache & dalvik??? Since that seems something data-related
Anyway, I won't be able to test until tomorrow morning.
EDIT: It seems to be a COS13 bug. People flashing both incremental and this full zip are experiencing the issues randomly.
I can't reproduce it, so a logcat would be appreciated!!
Thank you so much. Just flashed it and it's working perfectly for me. I'm not having the APK install problem.

Yes on official incremental update. I haven't noticed any fixes but don't worry it will still install your apk it will just keep saying forced close for package installer.

You can flash it through TWRP. I used TWRP 3.0.0.0 and it worked fine. I wiped dalvik, system, data, and cache.

That or it may be a bug related to the incremental updating. As when I originally installed it I also got Google play services update required. a factory reset fixed that, maybe when the official fastboot version is released it will fix it

Noop.Im on latest version and i haven't gt even a single bug..Package installer works fine though. I flash 12.1 fist. Then small updates and then incremental update of 6.1..Works fine
So no error in incremental update zip but an error in package installer in this full zip?
Update:
1. Installed successfully by TWRP_3.0.2-0 recovery.
2. Package Installer crash after .apk installation fixed after the first reboot.
3. For Root flash http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu-beta through recovery after 1st boot completion.

So, this is kinda weird and I don't know what's wrong...
I unlocked the bootloader by enabling the orm stuff in the developer settings and flashing a fastboot rom. Then I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. After that I tried some roms (miui, cyanogenmods), but now I want to use the normal global developer version again. So what I did was reinstalling this rom which worked fine. Then I went back into TWRP to install SuperSU, but then I was unable to boot... Any ideas on how to fix this, or how to avoid the boot processing becoming stuck?
Thanks!

Hi,
I was installing the lIneage OS 14.1 Mocha and I came across a strange problem. The TWRP and TWRP img installed well, but when I wiped Cache and system and tried to install the Lineage os 14.1 rom, it failed and I was left with a MiPad without an OS. I guess it failed because I did not partition the system before I installed the Rom.
The tablet is turned off and I am not sure hot to get to the recovery of what to do to install a ROM. Could someone please help me with what to do next

Maybe you can try flashing/re-flashing the partition scripts? Or try flashing http://en.miui.com/thread-328108-1-1.html instead, it's a slightly more up to date version of the ROM.

Hi,
I'm struck on MI logo. I'm on TWRP 3.1.1-0. I've installed miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip, AOSPExt ROM, AICP, RR ROM but every time it struck on MI logo. All the ROMs are flashed smoothly without any error. I waited for some 30 min but nothing happened. I tried flashing via MIflashtool using flashboot rom but in MIFlash tool it showed 'error: Mismatching image and device'.
Please guide me.

Did you flash stock miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip using TWRP 2.8.4?
11. Your Mi Pad now boots into TWRP 2.8.4
12. In TWRP select ‘Wipe’ and choose ‘Cache, Data, System and Dalvik Cache’
13. After wiping, press ‘Install’ and flash the ‘Repartition_MI_Pad_1_2GB_zardMi3.zip’

Hey everybody,
I was on LOS 15.1 for a rather long time and I wanted to try RR, so as usual I backed up my system and tried to flash the RR-rom.
It did not work at all and I got several errors among which error 7 and the unability to mount system partition were the most prominent.
The device got bricked several times but I got it back to life with MiFlashTool, running either MIUI 8.5 or MIUI 9.
The strange thing is that even after flashing the MIUI-img - and basically bringing the device back to its factory firmware - I could not flash a rom.
I tried several recoverys; the latest TWRP, the TWRP linked in the LOS15.1 thread and OrangeFoxRecovery. None of them would work. I wiped all partition, nothing worked. I got different errors shown, most of them were error 7 or not being ablke to mount system, as stated before.
Right now I am back to MIUI and rooted it, which worked from OrangeFox, but I actually would like tzo run a custom rom again.
Any idea what I could do?
Cheers!
Noone who has an idea why it would not work?
I thought that after flashing via Flashtool the phone would be as good as new and all prioir changes would be gone? Wha can I not flash anything via recovery and get erros?
Or are there different versions of Orange Fox Recovery? RR would be treble, so I would need a treble recovery.
Cheers!
Have you tried to format internal storage?
If not backup data in sdcard or pc and format it using recovery.
Are you using trble supported recoveries?
Did you encrypted your data while using Lineage OS?
Hey,
well, yes, I encrypted data but since reinstalling MIUI via Flashtool this is gone. And I thought that this should be enough and reflashing it via MiFlash is like a factory reset? Is there anything I did not consider?
After Flashtool did not do the trick, wiped everything but External memory in TWRP, no kelp either.
I also did the normal wipe (where you dont have to choose which partition), this did not help.
As I said, I am currently on the latest OrangeFox Recovery but I also tried the latest TWRP and the TWRP in the LOS 15.1-Thread, which did not help.
To my knowledge all of the are treble recoverys?
I also tried to restore a vackup of LOS which did not work...
I flashed

When you reply quote, I didn't get notifications for your reply.
Your bootloader is unlocked and you installed Twrp recovery.
Try copying Rom zip to SD card and wipe system, data, cache, dalviks cache, internal storage (exclude sd card off course). Then install it.
It should work
As I said, I did all of this, yet it does not work.
After wiping I tried to flash RR rom...
I get "Patching system image unconditionally...
Then I get E1001: Failed to update system image. (in white)

Are you sure the Rom you installating is for your device because error 7 occured if the rom you are trying install is not for your device.
Yes, of course, it was the correct ROM. Before error 7 I got error 1001 and I guess this was the initial problem.
My guess it that the problem was the decrypted partition which I did not format in twrp in my first go. Every wipe and format afterwards somehow did not help...
Now after having flashed recovery and different roms 10 times and using miflash 10 times it worked and now I am on RR. Don't ask me what eventually did the trick.

Great to know
I hated MIUI because of the bloatware and ads. Have fun using RR. If you want you can use Liquid Remix Pie its a great ROM.
Yes. I also did not like MIUI that much, that's why I was using Lineage before I wanted to try RR: Thanks for the advice for anothe rom.

If I format data, then I have to reboot into the recovery menu to be able to use data again. But this is impossible, because it gets stuck into the bootloop every time I try to reboot. Any other option to fix this error?
EDIT:
I could fix it myself:
1. MIUI latest version; flash with MiFlash.
2. flash TWRP with e.g. YUware
3. flash latest fw_vendor in TWRP
4. full update pixel expierence (NOT incremental) rom flash
5. Partitions/Data/Format
6. Reboot and ready to use
