Screen flickering - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using Huawei honor 7 from the last two months.one month before I got and update(versionLK-UL00C675B170).After the updation I am facing an issue with my display. The screen is flickering when the display is on.

I've just picked mine up and the screen is flickering. I've no idea why or if my phone has had a recent update.

and it's stopped...

Flickering screen is usually to do with the auto brightness, try turning it off? My screen shakes when I scroll though pages.. But I get flickering sometimes too

The Euro version got very good auto screen brightness from the B180 firmware.
I donĀ“t know about PLK00

friends... how to update my honor 7 PLK-UL00C675B170 to android M.....

[Q] Auto Rotate Display not Working on Home Screen

Is it just me or anyone else have same problem with auto rotate not working in home screen display? I just found out that my Mini Pro SK17i with default 2.3.3 have problem auto rotating in home screen now. After I click an app or widget the display will go landscape from portrait if I hold in horizontal position, but it stays portrait even when I hold it in horizontal position while in home screen. The only exception is when I slide open the keyboard then the display will go landscape. Is it normal or is it just me? Is there any solution.
I'm led to believe that this is a part of the design, and the home screen assumes you will pull out the keyboard when you flip it sideways. :/
I've noticed a similar issue while using my Sk17a as well, at least.
Yes, its normal. The display only rotates when you pull out the keyboard
It is normal then...tough sometimes I see the display got rotate for a few second....thanks for the reply
Hey all,
I'm getting this problem even with keyboard out, will test again when my phone is fully charged and back up running.
I'm using Mini pro, latest versions of miniCM7 & nAA Kernal.

And I don't think this is normal... before I flashed with miniCM7 it rotated fine and the fact it does for a second then rotates back is not normal in my eyes.
[EDIT] Right I have found out that official updates have caused this problem but I should still be-able to get the home screen to rotate when the keyboard is slid out. This does not happen.... anyone know why or could point me to a fix? And I have auto-rotate already on

[Q] Capcitive Touch key lights not working

Hi, I have the S6 Edge. The touch key lights are not working at all. In Settings I have the Touch Key Light duration set to "Always On". Power Saving Mode is off, but they still won't come on. The keys do blink briefly during startup, so I do know they physically work. Any ideas? Thanks

It could be one of two things imo. Defective unit or display unit.

I think the capacitive touch screen lights are automatically disabled if one of the power saving modes are activated. Check to see if one of them are enabled.
The behavior of the touch light keys is tied to the "power saving mode". By enabling "power saving" mode it seems the touch light keys remain off.
Same thing just happened to my S6 (not the edge model). Battery was getting low, turned on the power saver mode, charged the phone back up 100%, turned power saver mode back off and now my buttons don't light up. I noticed they to will flicker when the phone is restarted.

OK I think I just fixed it. Set your capacitive keys to always on, then go to power saver settings and set it to immediately. Now no matter what percentage your battery is at your phone will go into power saver. Then turn it off right away and your keys should light back up.
Where are you guys finding the setting to adjust the capacitive lights? I've looked everywhere and can't find it. Even googled it. I want mine permanently off and all i found was "use power save mode for that"
Same thing here! I already contacted Samsung and Sprint, they don't know how to fix it! Take it to the store to get a replacement !

Must be carrier specific. I have the tmobile version and that's not an option there. But my other samsungs i had at sprint all had that option right where you said it should be.

YES!!!! That fixed my issue too. This happened a couple weeks ago. I couldn't figure it out so I did a factory reset (fixed it). Now it cropped up again this past weekend. Glad I'm not the only one. It is an ugly software bug I hope gets fixed.
Definitely a Software Bug !!

I had the same issues you guys had on my international (SM-G925I) model. After factory reset it just works fine. Maybe its a software bug and hope Samsung fixes this with the next update ... :good: :good:

Thanks! It fixed mine too but I had to do an additional step of turning power saver off, then back on, then changing it to turn on at 15% (from immediately) and turning it back off.
Such a weird bug.
Had the same problem. Did restarts/ full wipe/ called customer service/ went to service carrier store.... Problem ended up being the case I had purchased (phone specific at that). If you have this problem try removing the screen protector and phone case restart the phone and plug into the charger. Keep in mind that I had the exact same case on without removal for a few weeks before it started interfering with the captive keys. My keys have been working 100% since minus the protection.

z2 led flashlight problem

hello all,
i've been talking about the black screen camera issue on z2. But now i see a connection between the led flashlight and the camera. Can u test your flashlight notification to see if it works properly? Mine doesn't turns of correctly. And if i start the camera, either will appear a black screen, either it will say "camera not available". Your flashlight is working properly?
Yes, the same here, I'm on .726 and this is a bug, I just checked. But not a big deal anyway, all you have to do is to not forget to turn off flashlight before you start the camera app

Screen Lock app still accessible in Oreo?

Hello everyone,
would like to ask those with Oreo, if Honors internal app "Screen Lock" is still present.
In v.183 I can map it as Shortcut in Nova Prime for "double tap" and still use fingerprint unlock without that 5 sec delay.
And Novas admin can still be inactive.
Thanks
With oreo, Screen lock doesn't work anymore with Nova. Flashlight too. Rotation of lock screen is not working too. I forget, proximity sensor is off when screen off, can't wake up your device with gravity screen for example.

Ouch... that's bummer. So no Oreo for me, at least till Honor get their softw right.
But I guess it's probably also a Googles fault partially
screen lock and flashlight doesn't work IF you use huawei widget ,but for sure ,it's possible to lock screen by shortcut ( from other apps ) or use flashligt from other app or shortcut in taskbar. I tink it's more EMUI8 than Oreo.
---------- Post added at 12:49 ---------- Previous post was at 12:47 ----------
But, I've try many " wake up screen " using proximity sensor, no one is OK

Of course it is possible to use lock screen from 3rd party app, but lock screen in Nova works OK. The thing is that it's only work with 5 sec delay, as every other lock screen except original Huawei (which is not accessible in other than Emui launcher). Flash light i don't care as it's working from taskbar or tons of 3rd party app.
Wake up screen is no problem neither as fp reader is in front, which I prefer anyway.
Anyone get this to work?
Changed to nova launcher, and found out the existing widget now can't be used.
Hate the device admin screen lock, as well as the 5 seconds delay screen lock(as I can still input the touch screen and back button...)

Disable Power Off when Lock Screen (without Root)

Hi
Is it possible to disable Power Off Button when Lock Screen is active?
I have lost my Mate 10 Pro and somebody found it and switch off.
My Lock Screen was active with Finger Print and PIN
Hi, yes is possible to power off or reboot the device, even when it is locked with fingerprint. Since the battery isn't removable you would like a way to reboot it if something went wrong, i think.
How To DISABLE power off menu on lock screen?
It's amazingly ---kin ridiculous. IF I've lost my phone then, I NEED my phone to be ON so i can call on my phone or run some macro remotely to locate my phone, or to record audio or take pics of the thief remotely.
Instead the new os makes phones THIEF FRIENDLY.
PLZZZ tell me a way HOW TO DISABLE POWER OFF OPTION on my HUAWEI HONOR 8X.
Thanks.
