.Hi. I tried to root my brand new Honor 7 phone today. I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and finished by installing SuperSU. But when I tried to reboot the phone it just went back into TWRP. I have tried to factory reset, clear caches and data but that didn't seem to fix it. I am able to fully use all functions of TWRP.
I downloaded the stock ROM file and placed it on the phone, but when I tried to install it I was prompted with an ''no MD5 file found'' error. The last 5 hours I've been trying to fix this and I really do miss the phone already, is there anyone here who can save it?
ADB Sideload
I also want to add that ADB Sideload is not functioning either, I'm stuck at on "Starting ADB sideload feature..."
You can not install a stock rom with a custom recovery.

What am I supposed to do then? How can I get back my stock recovery?
After 9 hours of constantly trying to solve this I finally fixed it on my own, this thread can now be locked.
How did you flashed the stock rom?

Now the recovery is replaced with the stock recovery and he wants to root the phone. I tried flashing TWRP using adb but it does not work. Can anyone help with what is to be done. Thanks in advance.

1) download the Grarak's TWRP Recovery from https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/mirrors-for-official-oxygen-os-roms-and-ota-updates.387615/.
2) Place it on your phone
3) Download and Install Fashify app from Play store
4) Use Flashify to install your Recovery image. It should recover TWRP.
5) Of course, you need to be rooted.
Enjoy !
Root method same as with previous Version of oos? (lollipop)
yes, you can root with Modified SuperSU v2.74 TWRP flashable zip from the link provided.

He has no root and no recovery to flash Su, so tell me, how should he flash recovery with Flashify?
AFAIK the only way now is to flash recovery with fastboot and then with recovery Su.
OP download the recovery provided here.
Flash it via fastboot
fastboot devices
make sure your device appears
fastboot flash recovery "filename"
Reboot into recovery
flash modified super su

Hi, thanks for the instructions but i managed to flash the recovery using fastboot and adb. Only the hybrid recovery could be flashed, no other. I flashed the official TWRP but it did not boot, so i flashed hybrid twrp and it worked

Good to know. The official TWRP can't boot because of the new Bootloader of OOS 3.x.
You need one of this three
hybrid
the modified orange one
or garags

Let me make it easier and clear to you.
1. Install the drivers for OP2 (IMPORTANT)
2. You might have already downloaded adb and fastboot drivers. If not, download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
3. Unlock your bootloader in OP2, if you have not and enable USB Debugging from Developer Options.
4. Once you have installed Minimal adb and fastboot drivers, place the hybrid TWRP in the folder of Minimal adb and fastboot. Then Shift+Right Click and open the command line, type the commands (hope you know if not google them)
Then from fastboot, directly boot into recovery as at times OOS 3 replaces the custom recovery with stock recovery. From fastboot, press Power+Volume down until the 1+ logo shows up. You will be booted into custom recovery.
Hope this helps. In case of anything else you can PM me

I thought he was at least rooted. Because this is what happened to me, when I flashed the signed flashable zip followed by the root zip, I forgot to update the TWRP.
My phone was working but I couldn't access to TWRP, but I was rooted. So, in this case, my reply with flashify works.
Thank you.
ok guys saw the threads as was also trying to flash TWRP .
The bottom line is with One plus 2 having Oxygen OS 3.0 it is difficult to fastboot TWRP previous versions but with latest version I was was able to install TWRP 3.0.2-2 using fastboot and adb. The link is dl.twrp.me/oneplus2/twrp-3.0.2-2-oneplus2.img (official site of TWRP) Once installed you can install latest SU.zip.
Cheers
I know OTA updates are generally frowned up in here, but my point is that they should work.
I've been trying to get my OPX to upgrade to 3.1.3, and despite being offered the official OTA update, it won't install.
What state should the phone be in (recovery etc.) for the OTA to work? I've done a factory reset, wiped data and cache and fastboot oem lock / unlock to try and resest it, with no luck.

Fastboot flash old stock recovery. Then flash 2.2.3 with no extras and should be able to update. OTA won't work if the system partion has been modified ie TWRP etc.

Get the flashable zips of 3.1.3 or 3.1.4 and shouldn't be issue once you have stock recovery and 2.2.3 installed.

Nope, doesn't work.
It flashes from stock recovery okay, but hangs at the 1+ logo on reboot.
Would formatting the userdata partition from stock recovery get it back to a pre TWRP state?

Hello,
I wanted to ask what to do to pass SafetyNet on a rooted Moto-Z?
I have atm stock rom, but custom kernel, TWRP and of course unlocked bootloader.
Root is needed for some apps, so would it be possible to root the device for example with Magisk and flash stock recovery and stock kernel?
Thanks

That's what I have:
1. Stock ROM
2. unlocked BL
3. no TWRP (doesn't matter, you can just boot to TWRP from fastboot, no need for flashing)
That's what I did: (working)
1. updated to latest available OTA (optional)
2. flashed TurboZ custom kernel via TWRP, this kernel removes the dm-verify flag (with the flag, this will trigger SafetyNet for an open BL and CTS profile mismatch)
3. reboot to system
3. flashed Magisk v12.0 via TWRP
4. reboot to system
5. Download&Install (or update) "Magisk Manager" and "phh's SuperUser" from Play Store, check if root is working (should so)
6. in Magisk Manager settings check/switch on "Magisk Hide"
7. reboot
8. in Magisk Manager or any other "SafetyNet-Test" app, check if SafetyNet passes
9. profit?
sometimes it seems to be necessary to do a reboot when it doesn't pass the test or it's loading way to long for a check (encountered this 2 times so far)
Thanks for the answers.
It was enough to unroot and flash Magisk.
The phone is rooted with MagiskSU.
A lot of apps are now working but not all, the ones that are not working are telling that the phone is rooted.
Of course I am using MagiskHide.
Is it possible to make all apps working?
Thanks

Only way I know so far is something like xprivacy, which does require xposed...

Hi all, I tried to root my a3 by following the guide (method 2):
How to Root Xiaomi Mi A3 using Magisk (Android 11)
This guide for rooting Xiaomi Mi A3 will be split into two different methods, one that uses TWRP and another by flashing the patched boot image using
magiskapp.com
and I noticed that when I restarted the wifi and the sound of the phone were not working. I then realized that the guide was not accurate and that I was wrong to load the boot.img because my version (V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM) was not present in the recommended downloads and I downloaded and used version V12.0.2. 0 certainly giving the problems I later found myself in.
I have already tried to do a factory reset but nothing. Can you advise me what to do beyond the root in order to have the phone working again?

You can download the latest recovery ota for your device and install it using adb sideload or sdcard through stock recovery
Fixed everything by loading the recovery note. Thank you
I made exactly same mistake, i fixed it with proper boot.img from recovery rom for my version.

I don't know if this is what you said, but I tried to download the stock ROM of my xiaomi poco x3 pro, I runned adb reboot sideload, and then adb sideload <stock rom>.zip. I wiped data because if not, it gets stuck on boot logo, and then started normally, but I still don't have wi-fi nor audio. What I did wrong? Thanks.
