Hi,
I have a Galaxy S3 I9300, and one morning its just got bricked.
I can enter the recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.7) and download mod.
when enter recovery I gets the errors:
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I can't mount anything. if I try to mount i get an error: "Error mounting /sdcard"
When tring to format cache Im getting the error: "E: format_volume make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p8"
thats why I think its internal memory damaged.
adb can recognize my phone BUT fastboot and SkipSoft ToolKit CAN'T. maybe bootloader problem.
I try many thins with Odin but got failed all the time.
I cant wipe anything because I cant mount anything.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in Advance all the help is appreciated.

@TalR: flash a 3part 4.3-firmware with PIT+file. I've only this german link
Is your device the international variant?. If so, try my stuff before flashing a pit file. Also try flashing an official cwr or stock recovery and flash again.
Failing that it is broken.

please follow these steps here http://androidflip.com/how-to-install-flash-firmware-on-samsung-galaxy-s-2-gt-i9100/
what steps did you do prior to flashing with odin. ?
Did you wipe chache and davik chache ?
did you do a reset/data format ?
flash your file with odin.
if these to steps did not work.
You need to go into recovery do a complete format of your internal sd, then flash with odin. it will work then.

I bricked my i9100m. Please help!!
So, I was fooling around with flashing a modem in Odin and it failed. My phone ended up saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." when I try to go into recovery mode.
I can get into download mode, but when I tried to flash stock firmwares each one failed. I did flash multiple different kernels too. They get rid of the message above, but then it's stuck in boot screen with a yellow triangle.
I was running the leaked 4.1.2 official rom rooted and deodexed before I bricked it. My phone is a Bell Mobility phone from Canada Model i9100M.

Try flashing only a recovery (CF, Perseus, TWRP, etc) through ODIN and check if it is successful. The log seems to error out when flashing the recovery.
If successful, try flashing the stock ROM again.
If not, download another stock ROM and check if you can install it.
Just speculations. Dunno if it will actually work. The last resort is, of course, the service centre. Good luck!

I had the same problem mate. You just need to flash the stock recovery using PC ODIN. Once you've flashed the stock recovery, you'll be able to flash any ROM properly. Im 99% sure this will work.
Suddenly phone freezed and restarted and asked me to reset to remove encryption
then when i tried formatting using TWRP it displays the following
Unable to open '' to wipe crypto key
unable to format to remove encryption
Updating partition details......

Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid Argument)'
Failed to mount '/System' (Invalid Argument)'

Flash recovery twrp. 2.8.7.3 via heimdall. Other way flash back to stock rom with i9300 pit file via odin.. make sure you choose the right pit for i9300 16gb or i9300 32gb.
Id blame twrp. I had nothing but issues with it. Flash back to stock and start over. It's now your only option.
There is a chance you've had sds (sudden death syndrome) and the nand could be corrupt. You fix it with a pit file via odin but ONLY as a last resort. Flashing pit files is a final throw before pronouncing it's death.
The stuff i use : https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B4vTiHTBB629ZW5vQndpbjFnblk/edit
You will NOT find a pit file in there as i don't support pit flashing, because it is final. It either works or it doesn't. You will have to find one yourself if you need one.

Tried flashing PIT and was unsuccessful. Not sure if the data partition is intact and if so how to know its presence and the status of it.
Anyone solve this problem? I'm using N7100 and get this problem too
Tried to flash PIT with new odin version always noti "failed",
with 3.0.7, 3.0.9, odin freeze at "Get PIT for mapping..", I waited more than 30 minutes but nothing happen,
Tried to flash stock ROM but failed at "NAND Write Start!!"
Someone please help me fix this problem.
Are you using the original Samsung USB cable? Tried other USB cables and USB 2.0 ports?
oh, hi audit13,
Of course I used original Samsung USB cable, I changed some other cables, and USB ports(2.0, 3.0) to test, but nothing new.
I think no one can fix this problem, bring to cell store is the best choice
When flashing with Odin, which is the file that fails to flash? Maybe post the Odin log?

There shoot.bin file is not flashing because the memory is damaged, the ROM is not for the phone, the bootloader in the phone is newer than bootloader in the rom, or you need a different USB cable.

"the bootloader in the phone is newer than bootloader in the rom"
Sorry, but how to know bootloader in the phone is newer than bootloader in the rom?
I flashed Roms with Android ver 4.4.4, 6.0.1, 7.1.1, and don't know much about bootloader, can you help me find my bootloader ver and find the way to resolve this problem. Thanks
