Hi there!
I just switched from litening rom 2.7 with siyah 3.1.2 kernel to the newest version of ressurection remix rom 1.8.1. I did factory reset and all the cache wipes. All is working well and I must say that this is the best rom i've had so far...
Apart from the fact that my internal SD is not recognized (I don't have an external SD card). The internal SD is available in recovery mode, so i tried flashing the siyah kernel that was still on there. This didn't help. I have been searching in the FAQ but i seem to be the only one with this problem?
Does somebody have a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply but that thread is not applicable to my situation.
I am having trouble accessing the internal memory of my s2, NOT the external SD (which I don't have). This total of 16 GB is divided in a partition for the operating system and apps on one side, and a partition for data (around 11 GB) on the other side. I can't access this last partition for some kind of reason..
I tried flashing other kernel and flashing the whole ROM again (with al wipes en factory reset)
Any suggestions?

If u go to Mnt/sdcard what do u see?
Using XDA Premium over Resurrection Remix ICS, the Best Rom ever made
just change the connection mode.
Settings - Storage Size - Clic on Menu Button - PC Connection - And select the one that you want
Thank you for your responses.
If i go to Mnt/sdcard it says "this folder is empty"
My internal SD can't be empty cause I just flashed the Ressurection ROM from it.
Changing the settings doesn't solve anything.

My apologies in advanced if this is an ignorant question. Is it OK to delete the stock ROM slot on safestrap and replace it with a custom ROM? If so how is the precise way to go about doing so?

I've done it, and it's running great.
I first made a backup of the stock slot (I have a 64GB SD card, so plenty of room for backups ). Then, I also made a full backup of Slot 1, where I had CM installed, then wiped it so I would have more internal space. Then, with Stock slot selected, I simply went to install and picked the latest downloaded version of CM and gapps, installed just like it was on Slot 1, and things have worked great since!
Here's a bit more precise:
If you want to make backups
Boot into safestrap, select boot options and make sure the slot you're currently using (not stock!). Then, back to the main menu, choose backup. A bit more than halfway down, you'll see "Storage: " - I'd make sure your external card is selected - simply tap on storage to see which one / change it. Then, just swipe to back up.
Next, select boot options and select Stock, then repeat the next steps to back it up.
If you want more space
Next, go to boot options, select slot 1 (or where you have it installed), and delete it. (Make note of the size - I might be wrong, but if you ever want to restore the slot 1 backup, you'll want the same size created later).
Overwrite stock
Back in boot options, select Stock Rom, return to main menu and select Install. After this, just continue as if you're installing on a different slot. Assuming you've downloaded the latest CM and gapps (can't post full links ... grrr ... https [...] download [dot] cyanogenmod [dot] org [slash] ?device=spyder and saved it to your SD card, navigate to the rom zip file, select it, then add the gapps file.
If you have any trouble, post a reply. It was actually several months ago that I did this, so I actually don't remember if there was anything I had to do afterwards, but I believe it went smoothly.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the details! I have to give this a try when I have an SD card with more memory (only have a 16gb internal sim card which is what was partitioned with safestrap, and only a 2gb external).

If safestrap was installed originally on stock ROM do I have to install it on ROM slot 1 where my custom is on? I don't have the zip anymore that I used the flash the custom on. What I really want to do is replace the stock with something smoother and different features. I'm perplexed because if I delete the Stock does that delete my recovery that boots my custom?

Shouldn't have to worry about that at all. I didn't do anything special. Internal storage is actually separate from the system level - people can correct me if I'm using the wrong terminology, but the point is, if it wipes your internal storage, it's actually not wiping the system level - it will overwrite stock, but you won't lose the recovery.
At least, I didn't ...

Also, if it makes you feel more comfortable, I recently made a full backup of the stock slot w/ CM11 on it, restored the original stock I had and booted it just fine in order to do some stuff with the verizon voicemail app (maybe I could have installed it in CM11, but I didn't want to), then rebooted to safestrap, restored CM11 to stock, rebooted and everything worked fine.
Yeah something is making me reluctant & apprehensive about doing if. On scared I'm might brick it.

The primary drive for me was storage. Basically, with caching music offline and photos, the slot image basically just kept filling up. I tried multiple things, even going with a symbolic link method that I found ... somewhere on this forum ... but that still didn't work.
Since then, I haven't had any issues.

I've messed up several things in the past through the learning process, including flashing a build for the 910 instead of the 912 onto my phone, and I was able to recover from that. But, replacing stock w/ CM actually went very smoothly.
Feel free to message me directly with any questions - but continuing on the thread will probably be helpful for others.

Do you use bootloader or a recovery system like Safestrap or bmm (I think)
When I proceed to do so on safestrap it gives me a warning in red signifying not to install or wipe.

I use SafeStrap and yes it warns you with the red lettering about wiping/installing to stock because you're losing the safety net of having the stock ROM still installed on your phone.
I ran ROMs in slot 1 for several weeks to make sure it was stable before flashing to the stock slot.
I made sure my backup of the stock rom was in a safe place and made a fresh backup of my slot 1 install.
With the stock slot active, I went into Wipe then Advanced Wipe and selected everything except Internal Storage and Micro SDCard.
Then, Installed my ROM zip, GApps, and other zips that I use.
Then, I restored only the data partition (not system) from slot 1 backup I'd just made.
Rebooted and profited!
Keep in mind that the stock slot system partition is only 636mb, so something like the PA Stock GApps won't fit.

Thanks for the details. So using stock wouldn't take use of the 16gb that your SIM comes w/? Where does all that storage go?

The stock 16gb is split in half, 8gb is the Internal SD storage available for any use, the other 8gb is used by the system including what SafeStrap calls the stock slot.
In SafeStrap, when you set up a ROM slot, the partition defaults are a usable 688mb for system, 1968mb for data, and 295mb for cache.
Motorola allocated the following usable in the stock slot, 636mb for system, 3078mb for data, and 1007mb for cache. So that is almost 5gb of that 8gb used by the system. Then the Webtop partition uses close to another 1gb. None of this can be changed.
If you flash to the stock slot, you will have your full 8gb of original internal storage since nothing is needed for ROM slots. You will also have a 3gb data partition which is loads of room for whatever apps you might want to install. The 1gb for the cache will help if you do video or audio streaming.

I have Lenovo A2020A40. Two sim card slots. I think it's 8GB. It downloads a firmware called USR_S197_1707170945_Q8909 but installation gives an error. error in cache/recovery/block.map (status 7).
Can I download it from somewhere and update it manually?
Edit: I made an factory reset, I did wipe data thing but it shows apps that I think are from the previous owner like KingRoot, UC browser, Facebook. I'm sure they are not part of the package right? So how does one start from scratch here?
Edit 2: It shows system/bin/debuggerd has unexpected contents so I might need that file replaced, right? How is this done?
My Redmi Note 4x have a question with a continuously endless reboot loop after I add an external SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro/ 32G) into SIM card holder that it be set as internal storage. However, the OS work normally after external SD card is unmounted.
Is there any way to set an external SD card as internal storage?
32G internal storage is not enough for me~~~
Thanks for anyone helping.

Are you on miui? Or on a custom rom? I don't really know if miui has an option to set sd card as internal storage, but i know custom roms have them. Regarding the bootloop, disable the feature from settings so you can end the bootloop

My suggestion is to upgrade to aosp extended v5.1 since v5.0 isnt going to be much updated plus it has bugs. Maybe that's am issue to the rom. Just boot in the phone without the sd card, then when the phone is on insert the sd card and format it normally. Then u can just copy the zips and flash them.

You can use titanium backup, but unfortunately that's the only thing :highfive:
More a question,if I only back up all the data, cache etc which are existing in AOSP ROM 5.0 except for system, can all things which are described above restore to AOSP ROM 5.1 after ROM 5.0 be upgraded and backup file be flashed via TWRP ?
In a nutshell, I don't want to lost things which were installed in AOSP ROM 5.0~~

As the above friend said, you can use titanium backup to backup all your apps that you have installed and then restore them after upgrading rom. It's pretty easy and from my experience you might have to configure some apps again, but all will be restored.
