I have galaxy s3 i9300, everything its ok on it, i decided to instal custom rom, installed twrp over the odin. When i boot in recovery i cant mount /system and /data. On top it said Internal storage 0. I can mount /efs, /cache, and /micro sdcard. I tryed clockworkmod recovery too, same problem. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Flash with basic rom .clear cache and start afresh
Use an official clockwork recovery. Twrp and unofficial recoveries will bork your device.

Hi guys! I have been reading through the post and searching for possible solution to my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 problem but I cant find any solutions. Here is the story:
I have flashed the GT-P1000 tab with clockworkmod version 6 (i am not sure the exact version) using Odin.
Now after flashing the recovery, I have successfully installed Cyanogenmod 11 (nightly build) and everything was successful and everything is great.
A friend of mine borrowed the tab and he put a pattern to lock the phone, instead of asking him what is the pattern I just decided to wipe the tab again to make a clean install. So what I did was I went to recovery and selected "format /system" which I shouldn't have, then after rebooting it is not booting up to Cyanogen anymore, so what i did was I just wiped everything (format /data, cache and factory reset)
Now this is the weird part, the devices has kept on booting up to clockwork recovery and it says the device is not yet rooted, it is asking me if it is ok to root it, I always selected yes
After another boot up, the clockwork recovery is now version 3.0.0.5??? it is really weird? I never installed any clockwork mod with a lower version... How did that happen?
Now whenever I try to install from sd card or restore it or mount it nothing happens, it just says:
E:Can't mount
E:unknown volume
E:unable process volume! skipping
I tried to flash the recovery again using Odin many times but still the clockwork mod is stuck in version 3.0.0.5.
Right now, I am not sure if my understanding of the entire system is correct:
1. Should I install a new recovery, if yes, how and why is it whenever I am installing it again it is not being installed, it gets stuck to version 3.0.0.5?
2. Are there any other recovery I should use and how should I install it? is it the same as using the Odin?
3. Is there a way to install the original recovery of this tab and then from there I will start over again.
@Battousai1
1. & 2. Find an Odin flashable recovery for p1000... Go to download mode and flash it with Odin...
After doing that you shouldn't have the problem anymore...
3. To install the original recovery find the stock rom which is again Odin flashable ... Flash it and you'll have the stock recovery...

Hi guys, just an update, I have finally managed to restore my device's software back to its original version. Thanks to Overcome. Here's the thread for those who still have this device and have some similar problems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881981
I'm currently using MIUI v5 (Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean) on my Galaxy S3 i9300...
Previously, I used Clockworkmod recovery to create a nandroid backup of Cyanogenmod 11. After I installed MIUI i flashed TWRP.
The problem is... It seems like i cant restore the backup i made of Cyanognenmod using CWM from TWRP recovery...
The window where I browse for the backup folder in TWRP is empty, both for internal and external memory.
How can I restore it?
Backups from twrp are pretty different from those made by cwm..
So you need to have cwm or more popular philz touch recovery..
With philz you can restore backups done from twrp also which have a different format and can only be restored by twrp

Hi all,
For backup purpose , I tried to upgrade to the latest Recovery_CWM_6.0.4.7_I9100.zip using Install Zip from an older CWM of my Samsung Galaxy S2.
And I'm in big trouble because after installing the clockworkmod recovery the phone won't boot anymore. It's stuck on "Galaxy SII - GT-I9100 - SAMSUNG" splash screen :crying:
The CWM works and gives this log:
I:Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/platform/dw_mmc//mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0
I can mount partition and accessed it from my pc.
I wiped cache and dalvic cache without more luck.
There is no vibration on boot either.
As my data aren't backup yet, I don't want to wip them out with some ROM. Did I miss something?
Any hint about what I should do to have the phone boot again would be greatly appreciated! :highfive:
Cheers
@GalaxyS2u did you flashed the right cwm/kernel for your rom since they are included in one boot.img? If you cannot flash an new rom anymore in the recovery or reflash the kernel /recovery then you need to flash an kernel/recovery in odin. Try an odin philz kernel if there is one else flash siyahkernel with odin.
And that partition thing is that even an valid partition ?
Backup your data first in recovery then try my things i suggested. I still think that the reason why it doesnt boot is because you flashed the wrong recovery/kernel.
Are you on stock btw? I suggest to try to flash philz kernel if you are on stock.
@wulsic
Thanks a lot for your hint :good:. That saves my precious! :victory:
I can manage to come back to my old CWM recovery with a flash of siyah with odin.
The new CWM works only with a new ROM and not with my old stock. With this experience, I am even able to upgrade to the KitKat version.
Viva this model and this community!
@GalaxyS2u glad to hear you figured it out I also had that problem when i flashed S2 first i soon found out that kernel/recovery were in one happy flashing?
ok so i had twrp and blisspop rom.. fine and working
wanted to flash s6 ported 4.4.4tw rom
twrp kept saying cannot mount /preload (no such device)
flashed the rom
stuck at bootlogo
/preload mount failed
/preload format failed
tried CWM and twrp 3
no luck
tried to flash 3 different roms still no luck
anyone help???
I9300t isnt the I9300. If you've flashed a rom for an I9300 expect issues.
Flash a stock rom via odin and do more research.

To flash roms like android 4.4.4 you need newer (kitkat compatible) twrp. Yours is outdated.
To flash latest roms you need also an isorec kernel and isorec twrp and you need to increase size of system- and data-partition (there are many threads how to do).
For stockrom you need odin to flash.

No idea on which rom you are and what exactly you tried to flash.
So what i would do: using your twrp i would flash a kitkat-compatible custom recovery (cwm or twrp). Then boot straight this kk recovery (do not boot system) and make a clean flash of latest unofficial lineage 11 android 4.4.4 by grzwolf together with isorec twrp 3.1.xxx.zip by the.gangster (this rom has already isorec-kernel).
After that you could carry on with repartioning system and data and flashing nougat roms etc. (Having made a backup before doing all sorts of thing is of course adviced)
