Padfone S screen repair problem - Asus Padfone X and S

Hello,
I have a problem. I just changed the screen on my Padfone S, but now it refuses to boot. I replugged everything in place, even verified a few time by replugging the screen and battery connectors. When I try to power on the phone via battery (not plugged), nothing happens. If I plug in the phone in my computer with the battery connected, the screen light up, but without anything on it (no graphics, only brightness). The red led light stays on for a few seconds, the plugged device sound on Windows plays, then, after a second, it plays the unconnected device sound. The red led and the screen powers off. It then repeats this sequence in a loop. If I plug the phone without battery, the red light and screen turns on, and off after a second. It however doesn't do it in loop. I think it is worth mentionning that I hear an electric noise when the phone is plugged in with and without battery, but not when it is not plugged (when trying to boot on battery). I first suspected a bad battery which could have been dammaged during repair. But, after looking on ifixit, I realized that the electric noise could be a sign of a bad LCD. If I unplug the LCD, there is no noise when doing the above steps. All other symptoms such as the loop and red light are still there. Could it be a bad LCD? I unfortunatly broke the old screen while removing it as it was cracked, and it simply started to come apart while being removed. When I plug in the old screen back, the cellphone is simply not reacting, because I suspect the screen seems to be simply broken.
Any idea on what could be the problem?
Thanks,

[Q] Dropped Evo 3d.. Won't turn on

Yesterday, my phone fell (not very hard, onto a carpeted floor). I picked it up and put it in my pocket without looking.. When I went to check my phone, it was off. I tried to turn it on, but it would only go to the HTC screen, then the screen would go black but the home icons would be lit up. I took the battery out and let it sit for a couple of hours. Tried to put it back in and the phone wouldn't turn on at all. I put it on the charger, it turned red for about 5 seconds, turned off, then repeats. If I try to turn the phone on, the LED light blinks a very dim red for 2 seconds then stops. I can't even hold the volume button and the power button, it just blinks the dim red. As far as I know, it is not rooted. I got it second hand about a year ago after my phone got stolen. I have never had any problems with it other than the camera.. It just stopped working eventually. Help?
Anytime you drop the phone, even if it wasn't a hard hit, it can damage something on the main board, which could be your problem. However, since you say the led is very dim red, that is a sign that the battery itself is damaged and won't charge. I would try to get a cheap battery off ebay to see if that's the problem.
You probably damaged some micro vital componants on your motherboard which is preventing your device to function in a normal way.
must be motherboard, or some other chip

[Q] Unresponsive, flashing red power light

So I've just acquired a Commtiva N700. It's been sitting in a desk drawer for several years, and the battery is completely flat.
When I plug it in to charge, the red power light comes on, but it remains completely unresponsive. It doesn't even show up as a USB device if I plug it into a computer. After a while the power light will start flashing irregularly. Even after being left like this for a while, nothing happens.
I've followed the suggestion on one of the other threads of taking the back off, disconnecting the battery, leaving it for a bit, reconnecting and charging. I just get a flashing red light again.
I'm suspecting that the battery is so flat that the charger circuitry is refusing to charge it because it thinks it's broken, thus rendering it a brick.
Before I bin it (not worth replacing the battery on a thing like this!) does anyone know if there's any last-ditch recovery I can try?

[Q] Archos 101 G9 bricked?

Hi there
I have used this tablet without bigger problems for months. a few days ago I've turned it on and after a few minutes using it the device froze completely. then the screen turned black after a few seconds, power led off. I've tried to reset it by pressing power button long and nothing happens, display black, led off.
Everytime I plug it in, the power led turns on, but nothing else happens.
Today I've opened the device and found out the batteries are at 2.8V. I've then charged them with my Lipo charger (had to desolder it, charge and then resolder). Still nothing works. And if there's no battery connected the exact same happens like with the batteries in place: nothing exept green led turns on.
So, why did this happen and how can it be fixed?
Thanks
same thing happened
hi,
exactly the same thing happened to me. Did you manage to solve the problem?
I also tried to empty the batteries and then to re-start, no success. The LED will light for a couple of minutes then turns off, but nothing else happens afterwards, the screen remains black all the time.
Resetting the device also doesn't work, the screen won't turn on, not even in the recovery mode.
I would appreciate any help on this issue.

still dead
Nope, unfortunately I could never fix it so it's just laying around collecting dust as a expensive paperweight...

Phone not powering on after screen replacement

Hi everyone, this is my first post on XDA.
My S3 had a broken screen, so I wanted to get it fixed. The repair shops quoted quite a hefty price for the repair (even though it was just the glass that was, not the digitiser) so I bought a kit to repair it myself. The repair went smoothly, and I didn't need to do anything to the actual LCD display. However, when the repair was finished, the phone would not turn on. I assumed it had a flat battery (it was on 5% when I started the repair) so I plugged the phone in. The phone's LED lit in an orange colour, that i've never seen before. So I left it for 1 hour, then I came back. The phone still had an orange LED lit. The phone would not turn on. I kept the plug in and took the battery out and the phone vibrated. Then I plugged the phone back in and a red LED lit. I've left it like that for 2 hours, and the phone would still not turn on. I plugged it back into my PC and the LED lit green. The phone would still not turn on but the PC showed "GT-I9300" as a Media Device in the File Explorer but it didn't have anything on it. The phone now displays a green LED whenever I plug it into any normal charger. When I unplug it, the power button makes the phone vibrate when I press it.
Please could you help me? I need a phone.

Red led is charging, green led is charged. Orange led.. Never known it to use orange so i assume its a fault.
It does seem like the phone is booted up and running yet the screen shows nothing. Possibly halted in post?. Have you double checked your work for loose connections etc?. What are the chances of the replacement being faulty?.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
I didn't actually remove or do anything to the LCD, so it can't be lose connections etc.
I left it overnight on the green LED and it still isn't turning on, plugged in or not.
I'm going to call Samsung to see if they can fix anything or if I need a replacement phone (its about 3 years old so not under warranty though)
It isn't turned on, I tried calling the phone and it went straight to voicemail. And I get no startup sounds, nothing.

Samsung will charge if it's out of warranty.
So what exactly did you do if you didnt disassemble it?
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Going to send it off to Samsung. I literally removed the screen's glass and placed a new one on.
Can you do that without damaging the digitiser? I would have thought they'd be "married" in some way or other ie glue.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Why won't my telescreen turn on?

About two years ago I ran in the rain, and the digitizer malfunctioned(and possibly other things?) It still worked, but it would cut off randomly unless I attached a battery or charger via usb.
Fast forward to today, the telescreen I bought as a replacement broke, so I've been using my old one until I get a new one.
But, now it won't turn on at all. The battery seems like it exploded slightly, as it has bulged. I have removed it.
The same symptoms apply, whether the battery is attached or not. The LED shines red when attached to a charger. If a press and hold the power button for 5 seconds or so, the vibrators buzzes like it normally does when it powers on, but while the screen turns on it remains black, when the Sony and Android logo should have appeared.
It's a Sony Xperia C5.
