Has anybody been having problems with people not hearing you on a phone call when the phone is not completely pressed against your cheek? I mean I know it has to be close but when I say pressed against your cheek I mean very close to your mouth... This mainly happens when Im laying down, but also every now and then when regular sitting up straight or standing up.
No problems at all here.

I am very annoyed. It seems when I'm taking on the phone, my face browses through menus, calls other people, mutes my microphone, dials numbers... I'm really annoyed.
Does anyone else have this issue? What can I do to stop this from happening? Is this a Sense thing?
Unless you have the phone smashed up against your cheek or you just have a fat face, I fail to see how this can happen.

The prox sensor can be kind of touchy, but are you moving the phone around a lot when you talk? That's likely causing it to activate the screen and then your face is probably touching all of the stuff on the screen.
Someone on here said that to avoid it, they have answered a call (or when dialing, waited for the other side to answer) then hit the home button and turned off the screen to talk. I haven't had this issue, so I couldn't tell you what else to try, though I think doing the above would be annoying. Just try and hold it so that the prox sensor doesn't move too much.
Pretty sure my face isn't fat.
Could it be the ROM I'm using? I'm on BAMF remixed right now, I don't recall this happening before. I can say, my iPhone 3gs nor Nexus One ever pulled these shenanigans.
So, I flashed the original radio back to my T.Bolt, seems to have resolved many of my issues. I haven't experienced any dropped calls or weird issues like I was before. Knock on wood. I'll keep posted what I find.
Yesterday, all of a sudden, my SGS2 started rattling when vibration is on. Rattling is extremely loud and comes from left-from-camera part of the phone. It's not the back cover cause it rattles without a cover as well. When I touch that part, rattling stops. Does anyone know what is it (I didn't drop the phone or did anything to cause it)?
Thank you!
I noticed this as soon as I reached home after buying the phone last November. Just played with it a bit and--WHAM. I get this weird, sort of rasping robotic noise when its on vibrate. It sounds like the phone has a cold or something...if that makes sense at all. I suspect something is loose around the camera area. Do you still have the problem...cause I do. It didn't bother me at first but now its just annoying.
Greetings all, I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem, and if anyone might have a simple fix other than sending it in for an RMA, and if possible without having to open the device. I doubt there is a solution... And while I can change the volume through the software itself this issue is not absolutely critical, but come on... This should definitely not be a problem.
Anyways, my volum rocker seems to be falling apart. It was originally working very well, however it has recently started to become problematic. It almost feels like it is jammed up or not positioned properly. I don't know how the feature works internally so i don't really know the terminology to use here, but I have had quite a few different Android & Apple devices and never experienced a problem like this with the volume rocker. Basically, I will push up on the rocker and it doesn't actually do anything, it's like it doesn't actually push in. If I look at it, it may look like its jammed in the upward position, and if this is its current position I can push down and it usually will work, and I can feel a faint pop as it comes back into place. This can also happen with the down position.
I have not dropped the device, have not had any accidents with the device, I am not exerting much pressure on the button, it just feels like it is not put together properly or like it may have slipped out of its natural fitting or something. Has anyone else experienced this before? It's rather frustrating and turns my stomach when I think about how much I spent on this thing and the freaking volume buttons don't even work... Sigh...

I haven't heard of it happening on the Prime. Other devices yea, but nit the Prime. Hopefully it's not another wide spread problem. I dropped my docked Prime TWICE in one week,(ashamed) and I have a very similar issue with the space bar on the dock now. The right side doesn't really depress, and it doesn't function. But seeing as it's only the dock, it doesn't bother me, and I feel like I can easily open the keyboard up and fix it if I really want to. I understand I am very lucky to only have this space bar problem after 2 drops onto concrete.
Good luck man.
EDIT: In the meantime, you can try Widgetsoid or the like. There's a nice toggle widget with ALL the system volumes on one widget...notifications, media, alarms, etc with sliders. I use it and my volume rocker is fine, that's how useful it is IMO.
I've searched and haven't seen anything so maybe someone else has experienced this.
First off, I do not have a case on my phone.
While I talk on the phone, no matter how good or bad the service, my Mic cuts out and the person on the other end cant hear me for a few seconds at a time. I can hear them fine when it happens, but they cant hear me. This tends to happen every phone call. Sometimes Just once, sometimes every couple of minutes.
Any ideas?
Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice as to whether there is any hope left for my poor S3.
Back in November I dropped it down the toilet (don't ask!). Although I was able to scoop it back out of the water, the damage was clearly done. I stupidly turned the phone back on pretty much immediately and the screen flickered and went dead. The phone seemed to be a goner.
Since then, I completely dismantled the phone and battery and placed them in a bag of rice in my airing cupboard at home. I've left it there for the past 5 months and now, when I take it out of the rice and put it all back together, then phone boots up (I managed to flash a official firmware image back from a slimrom I had on there successfully) and loads perfectly into android. I can then use the phone absolutely fine, open apps, play music, take photographs, for around 30-40 secs until the screen just stops responding completely! It is soooo frustrating. Once this happens, it can take some time to get the phone to reboot in the same way and allow me to use the screen, often booting up and being completely unresponsive.
When the screen stops responding, all the hardware buttons continue to function as expected and both of the buttons (back and menu, I think) either side of the home button continue to respond by giving haptic feedback and sounds.
This has been the case with the phone now for the past couple of months. Each time I try it, I just get frustrated and pull it apart again and put it back into the bag of rice in the cupboard. I have been reluctant to get rid of the phone (won't get much money for it as it is water damaged) in the hope that it will miraculously start working properly again. This doesn't look like it is going to happen and I am now thinking of getting rid of the phone for what little money I can get for it. It is in mint condition minus the screen not responding - I had only had it for 3 months when I dropped it!!
My question then is; is there anything else I can do or try to get the screen to continue responding for more than 30 secs after I reboot it? It just strikes me as odd (and incredibly annoying!) that the screen is obviously capable of working for a set duration but then consistently stops responding after a consistent amount of time. If it can work for 30 secs, why can't it continue to work!? Any ideas as to what might be causing it to lock up?
I'd be really grateful to hear any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks.
No, there is no miracle fix for water damage. Almost certainly the corrosion has caused an increase in resistance, hence why it works for a few seconds until it overheats. As the voltages are tiny even a slight change will break the screen.

I thought as much.
Oh well it was worth asking.
Thanks for at least clearing up why it is probably working for a short time.
