Anyway to replace SIM slot on Moto E (2nd Gen)? - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just messed up the SIM slot on my XT1526, thanks to Nano/Micro SIM adapter which I had to use, got lodged in there, yanked it, now the pins are bent in there.
Any chance of opening/replacing the SIM slot (or pushing the pins back in place). Phone was 2 days old.

[Help]Sim Slot pin broke down

Hi, today while inserting sim card(with some force ofcourse as it was not going in easily), sim card stuck there and after half an hour hard work, I was able to pull the sim out. After that everytime I inserted the sim, phones says no Sim Card
I figured out that one of the sim slot pin is broke and its not properly making any contact with the part of sim.
So, I wanted to know if anybody faces the same issue and whether they have contacted the Sony Service center and any estimation of cost to be incurred in repair.
Or anyone got their phone repaired by simply soldering the Sim Slot on the motherboard as when I disassembled the phone, I found that the sim slot is soldered on the motherboard.
Any suggestions???
I guess that you could do this:
1. Resoldering
Remove all the cover. Separate everything from the motherboard.
Desolder the SIM slot. Get a old SIM slot from a old phone(Or just get it somehow). Then Solder it, wait for it the dry and reassemble.
2. Turning the warped contact back.
Do the same steps as step 1. Then use a tweezer and gently twist the contacts back. But be careful, it may end up worse.
3. Give it to Sony
Only do this if it is still under warranty. Replacement of motherboard is very expensive,to the extent you would rather buy a new phone.
They will most likely replace the whole motherboard.. The price of the motherboard is approximately 80% of the whole phone normally. Backup your data first.
Last one
Buy a new phone. But first you must be loaded.
Hope it helps!

[Q] I9300 SIM tray not holding sim card

Hi everyone. I have problem with my micro sim tray. When I insert my sim card in the tray, it can go in but it doesn't stay "locked", but tray ejects it immediately, instead of "locking" it and holding it. I guess the problem is that I have been using manually cut sim card which was smaller than the original micro sim I now want to insert.
Is there a way to fix this somehow without buying a new part to replace the tray?
Thanks in advance!
the slot is like 5 bucks, so I'd just replace it

[Q] micro SIM card holder struck

I have a nano SIM that I had put in a micro sim holder and have been using. last night I wanted to swap the SIM card and when I pulled the tray out, the NANO SIM card has come out - but the SIM CARD TRAY HOLDER and MICRO SIM HOLDER are struck to something inside and not coming out - I think inner edge of Micro Holder is struck to something. I can push in but cant pull out....
any help how to get it out.

Don’t force it out. you will break the sim pins connector inside phone. It seems the sim adapter hang up with some of the sim pins in the phone.
try to insert thin piece between the adapter and the phone connector. see if it will free the adapter

micro sim to nano sim?

Is it possible to cut down a micro sim to nano sim and will it fit the sim cradle? (nano sim thiiner than micr sim?)
It is possible, but not recomended. Also the nano sim is a bit tinner and this needs some extra work.
You'll risk getting it jammed inside the device and damaging it. It's totally not worth it.
i cutted my micro sim to nano sim
working perfectly
Try that :

Thanks for the advice. I'll finally decide when it arrives!
I've also cut my nano sim with scissors.. worked much better than i expected
Cut 2 sims today used a sim adapter to get the correct place to cut , both work perfectly

Yesterday I went to local mobile store and they cut mine from micro to nano free of charge, but I had to agree that the process might ruin the sim card Works like a charm and I saved 5euro for the new sim card from carrier.

I cut down my work sim from micro to nano to fit in the OPX, just used my main sim as a template and kept checking it in the sim tray till it fitted.
So far no problems and comes out and back in again easily
Let it cut with a nano sim cutter in a mobile store, then use a nail file or emery board to make it a bit thinner and round the edges. Worked for me and doesn´t cost a cent. If it goes wrong, you can order a nano sim anyway.
basically i thought to do this, but i can't afford 3 days w/o calls if i ruin my micro sim so ordered my nano sim
the thing i'm reticent is IF i had to go back to old phone, i could not be able to use micro sim
let it cut by local rip-off mobile store for 5€. well at least it works and was less expensive than a new card from the carrier for 15€.
Cutted mine (using scissors), no problem...
Cutted mine with a bought sim cutter, works perfect
