I was running on my Samsung Galaxy s3(clean rooted) ICS and following system update notification downloaded and updated to JellyBean.
After updating I opened Titanium Backup and realized the following Apps were striken through (uninstalled):
1. AllShare Controller 1.0
2. com.sec.android.killbackground 1.0
3. Download Manager 4.0.4 – I9300BUBLG3
4. DRM Protected Content Storage 4.0.4 – I9300BUBLG3
5. Gallery 1.0.19
6. Media Storage 4.0.4 – I9300BUBLG3
7. Share App 1.0
I have 2 backups each and tried to RESTORE ... however restore process starts but never ends ?!?
Missing No.3 does force close Google Play Store immediately when I open it.
Missing No.6 gives me errors with my SD card access.
PLEASE HELP me how to restore them ? I tried Factory restore, but all those Apps are still showing NOT Installed and prevent my system from normally working !
Is there any way to re-install all system files ?
you are trying to restore ics system files to a jb. Rom.........why?!
Wipe your phone and start again never install system apps via TB .
jje
Those files listed are missing !
Do not know how to re-install them again ?>
After Factory Reset they ARE STILL MISSING ?
Google Store closes immediately

Because I assumed this is the reason my Google Store closes immediately when I attempt to open it ... and all the time the message "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" persists ?
My Gallery is missing in apps too ? But how is possible not having Gallery app ?
Maybe you are right ... probably the update to JB uninstalled those as incompatible ?
Is it possible to be the wrong version of ODIN (3v1.85) I used to root the phone after JB update ?

thats because as already mentioned for JB they were removed and arent needed. They are part of ICS operating system. Trying to reinstall them into JB is a bit like trying to load part of windows 98 into windows 7 there just gonna cause problems.
it might be possible your installation went faulty try downloading the official rom version your on now from sammobile.com and reflash with odin and do a Wipe data/cache in recovery.
just do a clean install with Odin, re root, and only install user apps, you can restore call and sms logs using the .xml methods in titanium

I Factory reset already twice ... interesting why it doesn't fix the problem ? Still same issues with that process stopping and no Gallery and no Google Play access !
Probably downloading and reinstalling the whole JB update would help ?
Hello!
I did a factory reset on my rooted Thor, since then the regional settings loops when the stock launcher boots. I did flash gapps before the factory reset, I suspect that I have to remove the applications gapps installed to solve this. Gapps, super su and safestrap, is the only applications i have installed that has something with the modifications I have done. Wich google service applications can I remove safetly from system/app? I have Root browser installed.
Thank you for your help and expertise!
Hi there!
After having a lot of trouble with the default rom of my phone (reboots, frozen screens, wifi not connecting, etc), I decided to try my luck with other roms. After a few tries, I decided to try CyanogenMod 7, and I installed the psyke83 rom. But now I can't install certain apps. I tried from the play store, and tried direct from an .apk. Nothing: the phone reboots as soon as the app starts to install.
And I'm getting tired of this things. I don't want to go back to stock, with all the samsung apps consuming space and instability, but CM7 isn't making things easier for me, if I can't install apps (and essential apps like Maps).
Also, the thought of re-installing some apps, doing the setups allllll over again, fixing the agenda... any way to make a backup of all that things? I've read that Titanium Backup isn't worth it anymore.
So... What should I do? Stick to CM7 (3.0) and forget about installing apps? Go back to stock? Installing a new rom (recommendations will be appreciated)?
Have you installed gapps?
"Maps" won't install without them.
2 good roms are CM11 and OmniROM 4.4
Their latest versions are stable and they are based on android Kit Kat (4.4.4).
You can find them at madteam.co

Yup, after installing the rom, I installed gapps. Searching the forums, a lot of people recommended to reinstall it, and I re-downloaded it from MAD Manager.
But nothing. I was thinking of deleting the play store updates, then rebooting and installing gapps..

best rom give it a try download speedmod v2 gapps and hotfix install via zip files.
I'm using titaniumBack on a fully rooted device yet everytime I reboot after uninstalling, the devices come back. Even if I manually delete the apk's from app or priv-app, they come back.
I resolved this by installing CM12 :good:
Hi all, my SM-G9280 still cannot log into Snapchat. I've rooted the phone (since it doesn't come with Google Play Services). The android vers is 6.0.1 and Baseband is G9280ZCU2BPK1.
My phone is Chinese so it does not come with Google Play Services, and I have to root to get it.
I've tried :
1) RootCloak + Cydia Substrate. Doesn't work for some reason.
2) Xposed + Root Cloak. Installing the xposed framework crashes my phone and causes a bootloop. Recoverable by flashing the stock ROM and resetting phone though.
(EDIT: Xposed + Root Cloak does work now, I've added Snapchat to the list of root-hide apps, but it still does not allow me to log into Snapchat.)
3) Unrooting and Rerooting. Unrooting removes Google Play Services along with the root and Snapchat does not work if Google Play Services is not present.
I would try Titanium Backup with Snapchat except I don't have a second android device avaliable.
Is there any other solutions that I can do to log into Snapchat?
Can someone help me? Please?
Bump, can someone please help me?
Bumped again... Please someone help me with this issue.
First off why would removing root remove Google play services? This is not how this works. From the looks of it you have a china based device that didn't come with Google stuff installed. Take care of that first. Then root after.
Yeah, I have to root in order to get Google stuff.
As far as I know for my device there is no way to get Google Play Services other than rooting.

Well then I would root get the Google stuff and unroot. As they are not connected you should be able to pull it off.
I tried that. But as soon as I unroot Google Play Services dissapears and when I unroot using SuperSU it causes a bootloop, which is solvable by flashing the custom ROM,
So that doesn't work. Or am I doing something wrong with the unrooting process?

You are doing something wrong along the way. If you have a custom rom then you should have a custom recovery as well. At That point all you have to do is flash the rom and a gapps package. Dont flash any root apps. If they are built into the rom then that may be a bit harder to deal with.
I don't have a custom rom...
The way I got Google Play Services and Google Play to work is I rooted, then used a third-party app (Not OpenGApps) to install Google Play Services, the framework, and everything else.
I still have my stock rom, it's just rooted and has google play services that's all.
The fix is easy. Just grab another phone that is rooted but without Xposed Framework, you install SC and login. After login do a backup of the app with Titanium backup then move the backup to you Note 5/Galaxy s6+ and do a restore of the app's data (data has log in token). That's all ?
Now, if you don't own another phone then you have have to install stock ROM, then log in to your SC using the stock ROM without any modding (rooting) yet. After login root the phone and do a backup with Titanium backup. You can restore your Login data anytime after doing the backup. That's all.
I think that the problem with the log in may be because of the Knox counter in the ROM being triggered. Hope it's works for you. I use this exact method to fix the log in issue.

Read the OP.
I don't have another phone to do Titanium Backup.
When I install Stock ROM, Google Play Services and Framework is not installed therefore Snapchat doesn't work.
Would clearing EVERYTHING, then flashing Stock ROM, then getting OpenGApps help? Because if so then I can do that except i do not know how to setup OpenGApps...
Okay, so I got TWRP then flashed TWRP, then got OpenGApps to get Google Play Services.
I then unrooted but it took away Google Play Services and everything as well. I can't login to Snapchat.
Am I still doing something wrong here?
Bump, posted this on a couple of other forums and no one has replied with a solution
Someone help solve please
Bump.
Bump, I've been able to somehow install Xposed and root cloak. I've added Snapchat to the list to hide the root from the app, but it still won't let me log in.
Bump.
