Does it have android 4.4 support, would test it myself but I have to leave home in 1h and won't be back for a few hours so I can't afford to soft brick my phone now cause I'll need it while not home?

Yah, didn't read the main thread, but anyway it is compatible, thank you.
Really nice to see such a feature to an CWM recovery, hope to be able to use this for my tablet too in the future.
TWRP backup and restore support, include full md5 sum support (single and multivolume, compressed and non compressed formats)

EDIT: Thanks and Rate Thread added like i always do. Cheers!
It seems that at least for me the recovery fails at completing my backups, it says they are completed, but the size is just half (or even less) of the actual size of my system partition and after restoring each and every backup I make my phone fails to boot.
Good recovery. Very fast and very complete.
The only way to install it on one x + and flash it from the bootloader with the terminal.

Thanks @Phil3759!!!
We are happy!
Great recovery :good:
The only problem I see is that the battery level is always stuck at 66%... would it be possible to fix it?
Thank you very much!
Does it work for at&t/telus?
I doubt it given its built for the international version, I would be careful not to flash this on at AT&T device incase you brick it.
Best recovery ever Thank you Phil3759
just installed the latest build (6.12.8) within recovery. while installation it says that version 6.0.4.7 will be flashed but after reboot still i got 6.0.4.6.
do we have to flash to recovery.img in bootloader?

Well if you don't have S-Off then yes, cause the boot and recovery partitions are locked.
Why is it not working for me? I am INT , got CWM installed, and i install from zip, says complete, I restart the recovery and its still the same old CWM.. ?

Gr8 work btw, downliading!
EDIT: Not able to boot into recovery mode.
After selecting recovery mode it stays at boot logo for some time and then the device reboots to system!
Any idea?
EDIT: Tried with SPFT too, still the same except now it doesn't boots back to system and rather just switches off the display!

Wasn't there that criteria that recoveries compatible with KK need a KK enable custom kernel installed, nevermind! You are saying that its working on stock kernel as well then I guess I may have mistaken somewhere!
Lets see what other people report! For now I'm fine with installing the recovery on custom kernel!

@keanu_ritz Thanks for the great new work. Glad to see after quiet a long time. You still have a116?
1) First was confused that it may work only on custom kernel as per deepesh's post, now again you say it works on stock kernel also. Is there anything extra thing to do for booting in recovery while in stock kernel?
2) Does this recovery have all options as like from original dev Phil3759's version?
3) Does this have fix permissions option as well. Could not locate in screenshots.
Well done bro! :good:

It's my "Black Pearl" mate, I'm keeping it forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. When i first tested it , I was on custom kernel, but then i flashed stock kernel again and then installed the recovery again it still worked!!
so i guess you don't have to do anything extra if you are on stock kernel!!!!!
2. I guess it has all the options from original recovery.
I've ported this from the recovery which @yuweng compiled for mt65xx

[help thread] how to dual boot sammy jellybean 4.3 and kitkat 4.4.2

Here I will give you the steps you need to have fully working dualboot, I mean, what worked for me as the steps on on specific Dualboot threads didn't seem to work for me. When I have time, I will do a video illustration; just ask for clarification where you might need. here we go.
1. Download Googy Max2 Kernel. Thanks to @googy_anas
2. Download devil recovery or here thanks to @DerTeufel1980
3. Save the Secondary, CM11 ROM in your internal sdcard.
4. Reboot into recovery and flash Googy Max 2 Kernel and reboot phone, make sure you have Stweaks application, if not download it from the playstore. Here is the Link
5. Launch Stweaks application and go to dualboot tab, select reboot into secondary ROM utils.
6. In the recovery, go dualboot menu and format secondary ROM System.
7. Go to main menu in recovery and scroll to advanced, and select reboot to recovery, this should take you to the currently installed Recovery, i.e. Philz or TWRP, you need that.
8. Flash devil recovery and select reboot recovery after it's completed.
9. after the reboot, go to dual boot menu and select create secondary system image, this should take sometime, wait for it to finish, and after it's done, to to main menu and get ready to flash. P.S. You need at least 2GB of internal storage for smooth running.
10. first backup your current ROM, this should be Samsung 4.3
11. Go to mounts and storage, and select storage menu for Secondary Fs>mount /system and go back.
12. Go to install zip>Choose zip>Rom to secondary Fs, locate and flash, make sure you have a backup of that ROM since it gets modified to always install as Secondary ROM, incase you might need it if you happen to get bored with dualboot.
13. Go to install zip>Choose zip>zip to Secondary Fs and locate your gapps and flash.
14. Go to install zip>Choose zip>kernel, Recovery or modem, locate Googy Max2 Kernel and reflash it since the new ROM flashed it's default kernel.
15. Go to main menu and reboot secondary system now, Googy Max2 Kernel will handle it.
16. Just in case you try to reboot into primary ROM and it doesn't work, reboot into recovery and wipe data or clean install for Primary ROM and restore your backup, everything should now be perfect.

just in case

there is an error because step 6 and 9 are in fact the same. devil recovery is not capable do redo the 2nd rom partition if googy 2nd rom utils recovery hast already done it. espacially with newer roms the in stweaks built in recovery should not be used anymore because it cannot handle recent roms (kitkat based). so its better to directly use the format in devil recovery instead of stweaks way.
there are by the way also alternatives for dualbooting for example by using directly the newest devil kernel. then you can also use the improved devil recovery which is able to flash directly without modifing roms as second rom. it can even handle aroma based roms as second rom while the older recovery is often not able to do so (newer devil recovery cannot be used with googy kernel)
Correct me if em wrong .. I didn't followed steps 6 coz I knw it from d very first day of devil's conditions..
N yeah S tweaks is still working well with new kitkat baseed roms ( cm11 build 9 /05/14 ) .. .. y should we go to devil recovery n den reboot to primary or secondary rom wen Stweaks can easily handle this with an ease .... ya em quite agree with d new devil recovery n recommend to others to try out d new devil improved kernel ...

Initial boot takes a solid 10 minutes or more.
Flashing anything that requires optimizing apps (refreshing cache/dalvik cache) ups the (re)boot time to around 20 minutes.

Yes, there's also a version by @ktoonsez, as a flashable zip, not a tar.

Thanks Ramer.
I'll add one for the stock 2.8.1.0 as soon as I can.
Plus I will be moving all the old recoveries to a separate folder so there is no confusion. Too many people using old TWRP versions that aren't working properly.
So it begins another day at developing, lol morning to all, about to flash test drive this, might throw in a theme if time permits.

Ok, this is done. Stock TWRP 2.8.1.0 recovery zip added.
I decided just to delete all of the old recoveries and only keep the most recent of both Philz & TWRP.

Rom running ok, little laggy every now and then but SU is the only issue ive found. "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU could not install it. This is a problem" is the message within SU.

Known issue with Android 5.0.
Sometimes a reboot or two will resolve it but sometimes too it just takes opening an app that asks for root to begin with to give it a kickstart.

Try odin'ing autoroot, letting it reboot, and odin'ing it a second time. I've done it a few times and that seems to work. SU is there, SuperSU just seems to have an issue detecting it with lollipop.
