Help to choose from spesific roms - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. Does someone use cyanogenmod 9 for i9300? İs it stable?
So i use phone for
Calls,fm radio, facebook, fb messenger, whatsapp.
İ need stable device , that got more ram space because of fb apps.
Currently i am on archroid 1.8 or something. İt is good. But i am wondering if CM9 or CM 10.2 is better than that?

Why do you want something that old? KitKat works great on S3

Yea, back-to-n00t or plain CM11 is great

Thanks. And i want to ask, how can i flash stock kernel with twrp? İ cant stock image.
And so cm11, carbonron, slimkat, back to noot. Which uses less ram when boot?

I personally used Back-to-n00t, with poweramp in the background it's about ~550 at boot, your device will start slow down if you don't reboot though, just like other device. (memory leak)
You need Odin/Mobile Odin to flash Official stock files

One of the biggest advantages on custom ROMs are the kernels. Choose a ROM and ask here or search on google ,which kernel works well with it.
Less ram on boot depends on how many apps start on boot. You can always prevent them from starting with tools like AppMaster

Going from RR to CM9 GS2

RR has been the only rom Ive used. I flashed a few versions of it. Now that CM9 stable is out and I want to try it out. Is there any special instruction installing CM9 going from RR 3.02
I just wipe/reset and flash zip right?
the rom zip size seems alot smaller than the RR one
Yeah just wipe data, wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash .zip, the file seems smaller because this is 'pure' Google so there is no bloatware and therefore its a smaller file!

Yeeeah same process. Happy flashing!
just a girl addicted to android
Thanks.
anyone used both roms and can tell me how they compare?
I like some extra features that RR has and currently use JB RR
how is battery on CM9? battery life is kinda a big deal for me

The Rom is smaller because Google Apps are not included in CM9, you have to download and flash them separately.

well hopefully the rom help you alot,
for me that rom is little buggy, so i prefer CM9.1 until 10.1 fix up
What's working and what's not working in the 10.1 pukeup? is bluetooth working?
but i agree, when you install your rom the system is going to use some of the resources . and display what is left over.

[Q] Rooted phone. Any custom roms for this phone to flash?

So i successfully rooted my phone using odin and cwm recovery. i am on stock rom 4.1.2.
Can anyone please refer to a rom anyone used on this phone and it worked without many bugs.
i searched for cm11 but it still has many bugs on this phone so i ignored it. Please refer to me roms that have a newer version on android only. I dont want customised stock roms. just omniroms or maybe cm10.2. Thanks everyone!

Interesting. Nice find, I didn't know this one. I will test to see if it's really KitKat :good:
Edit: it is a beautiful ROM, but it isn't KitKat. It's the same Android JB we all have in our devices. I'm considering to keep it installed.
It is for i8552B

well its nice, much lighter than the original stock rom. Plus its better and much sleeker than the touchwiz. Although its not a major upgrade like cyanogenmod. But yeah, worth more than the stock rom. One of the cleanest rom for grand quattro :good:

Yes, I tested. Let me write a little review.
I would say Bionic Monkey (the name of the rom) is a stock-based rom, with some interesting mods. By default the rom changes the DPI, so more things fit on screen. Some apps are KitKat-themed, like contacts or dialer. The stock launcher was replaced by Google Experience Launcher. It's also pre-rooted and has support to multiwindow. I didn't test multiwindow, but I think it's nice on that rom because of DPI.
The major disadvantage is that the rom is not KitKat, despite the system info. You can test it by installing any app only for KitKat - it will refuse to install.
So, in general, it's a good rom for daily use, so you might give it a try.

There's no KK for us, at least for now. All the roms that claim to be any Android higher than 4.1.2 are actually themed roms with mods on build.prop, but in fact they are Android 4.1.2.
The exception is CM (the one in link provided by you), that is KK in fact. But is still unstable and not suited for daily use.

To the best of my knowledge there's no stable Lollipop ROM. All ROMs have their own bugs. Why not try the few Popular ROMs yourself?

Nah, in my device i tried multiple lollipops but they are were laggy. So i got back on the latest cm 11 and things are smooth as silk.
I'm staying off lollipop for now.
I don't care about the super latest features, I rather have a stable and secure system.

Both Temasek and ArchiDroid are very fast and stable. I haven't try out the new versions of RR and Blisspop yet
bhai archidroid karle latest wala set hai !
Hi,
Haxynox is actually pretty fast and thin. Discovered a bug, but cannot post it there. So i'm thinking of kinda spamming this place till i get my count up to 10
But in general, KitKat seems better choice for i9300 era systems. Would be nice, if someone compiled as close to aosp kitkat as possible. CM was close, but now really gets bloated with its additional software. It even has CM account system. Maybe i will test out Omni.
Omni is ok, but no theme support, same like slim kk
