I got a old Samsung Tab 10.1 3G (GT-P7500) and I found it slow thus I want to flash to CM10. My original Android version is 4.0.4.
I plugged the tablet to PC and it detected it as GT-P7500 at first (o.... very great). However, it just recognized it as media and cannot go into storage. I have selected MTP and it was still not working. Then, it turned to unknown device.
Then I installed Kies as well as the Samsung driver to my PC. But I still cannot detect the tablet anymore. It just showing unknown device in the hardware manager. I went into odin downloading mode, and it did not show up connection to my PC in Odin, i.e. that is no COM was on in Odin in PC.
I had try:
reboot and reset the tablet
Double Wipe (wipe cache and reset to factory in recovery)
select MTP in setting
check the USB debugging
uncheck the USB debugging
plug in USB 2.0 port
plug in USB 3.0 port
It still not working.
At last, I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459126
Maybe there is some problem on official 4.0.4 so it cannot recognize my tablet. But It is hard to find a desk sock nowadays AND I don’t want to pay anymore.
So I wonder any other way that may fix my tablet. Thank you

For some reason when i connect my GS2 to my computer (running xp) it wont give me the options to make it a mass storage device but when i use it on my laptop (running Windows 7) it works fine any ideas why and i ahve debugging on as well please help
you probably don't have the drivers installed on your PC - does the computer recognize the phone at all? if not, download samsung kies, and this should give you the appropriate drivers. alternatively, go on samsung's website and search for the appropriate drivers for the i777.
I'm having this similar issue but on Windows 7. I've already installed correct drivers and Samsung Kies. This issue began after I rooted my phone. I plug in my phone and my computer makes the device recognition sound. My phone is recognized in device manager as Samsung mobile usb composite device and my phone isn't in debug mode and doesn't give me the option for usb storage. I want to flash a rom into my phone but can't because I can't get into the internal sdcard. Any suggestions?
Try downloading pdanet on your computer. Then plug in your phone again. I had this problem and that fixed it for me.
Hey everyone,
So, I rooted and flashed my SGS2 back in july... everything went perfectly... but the Asus that I used to flash has been sold, and since I flash using CWM, not odin, I had not even realized this.... until I had to root and flash my mom's i9000m
My new HP is having a really hard time trying to detect any of my android devices. Here is what I tried:
- USB debugging is most certainly on
- Putting phone in download, plugging into laptop, letting install drivers - NOTHING in odin
- Finding the samsung usb mobile device drivers on tutorials on the internet - NOTHING in odin
- Installing kies, letting that install drivers - still nothing in odin or kies
- Try different USB port
- Try different USB cable
- Try pulling the battery and sim
It definitely is not the phone, because my SGS2, or my parents S vibrant or S captivate are detected by kies or odin. Also I can get a connection to storage when phone is on, ect.
Is there anything I missed? This new HP is starting to piss me off lol. Everything went to smoothly on the Asus.
did you turn off usb debugging. it interferes with the connection
settings - applications-development.
If I turn off USB debugging and enter kies mode while the phone is on (normally) it will say Connected...on the phone, but my laptop does not detect anything, kies is still waiting for a connection.
Ideally I want USB Debugging on, as I want to connect to odin, not kies. But as neither is working... I figured I would just see what I could get to connect.
SGS2 Connect
Power off phone
Install Kies
Power on phone start Kies connect Samsung USB cable .
Let Kies find phone .
NO
Then try Kies not running put phone in USB Mass storage mode connect cable wait for windows to find USB mass storage device and install drivers .
jje
Turns out there was an issue with my android SDK installation. Reinstalled it and re downloaded drivers. Everything works! Thread closed!
Thanks for the suggestions
Hello,
Few weeks ago I updated my Tablet to ICS with AiO-Tool by condi. Today I tried to connect my Tablet to PC to use some of the AiO-functions. But my Tablet doesn't show up in devices list in Windows. In device-manager there is no device that could be my tablet. Normally it says "Unknown device" but there is still nothing
Does anybody has the same problem or knows how to solve this? Thank you
djlars
Try to set usb debugging off. Then connect and re enable it again. If that doesn't work restart you tab in recovery mode let you pc install the driver and then reboot system. If your pc doesnt show any thing then try a other usb port on your pc last you could try is to use a device thats compitable with your tab like a camera or something but you will need the official kable from sony to connect the micro usb to normal usb...
After an extensive search of XDA and other forums - I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a situation in which my PCs (one that is Win7Ultimate and one that is Win8Pro) will only recognize my recently acquired, used Galaxy Tab 7510 when the Tab is placed in "download" or ODIN mode.
Thankfully, I can install CWM recovery and flash other ROMS because the PC's recognize the Tab 7510 when I place it in "Download" mode and use ODIN to flash.
Thankfully, I can use apps like WiFi File Transfer to successfully move files between my PCs and my Tab 7510.
However, I'm completely befuddled about why - when I connect the Tab 7510 to the PC in ordinary operating mode - there is no recognition of a USB connected device at all. Nothing shows up in the Control Panel's Device Manager, nothing shows up in the Windows USB Taskbar notification - from the perspective of the Windows machines there is nothing attached to the PC. I've tried all the tips I've seen written about on this and other forums (uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, trying other USB ports, trying other cables. making sure MTP is checked in settings, making sure USB debugging is/is not checked in settings). None of these has changed the outcome. My PC does not recognize (not at all) the Tab 7510.
But, as soon as I go into "Download" mode on the Tab 7510 - using exactly the same cable plugged into exactly the same USB port - the Tab is recognized and I've flashed three different ROMS (trying different versions of Jelly Bean) and flashed CWM three times and flashed stock ROM twice via the "Download" mode using ODIN on the PC.
Thus, I know that a connection can exist between my PC and Tab 7510 and that the cable and USB ports do work - just not when I'm out of "Download" mode.
Any thoughts or ideas on what the disconnect may be?
Do You have Kies installed to Your computer, earlier on I had the same kind of problem and uninstalled Kies totally, also every
registery traces, and the problem was gone.
Hello xda users,
I'm having a really strange problem. When copying files from my PC to my phone (be it the internal storage or the SD card) the window that shows the transfer process just hangs and nothing happens. Example: see transferhang.png from attachments (sorry, can't post links yet)
After leaving it "copy" for a while I get this error:
see cannotcopy.png from attachments. (The error says: Cannot copy item: the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.)
I am running Windows 7. My Galaxy SII is rooted and I am running the MIUI rom. I have searched around and have found no working solution.
However, if I change the USB port from the front of the PC (USB 2.0) to the back (USB 3.0) I can transfer small files like photos but larger ones (like 150MB for example) hang up.
Copying files from the phone to the PC, however, works. I find this whole thing really strange.
If anyone has any idea as to how to fix this please tell me.
Did you try the same thing on another computer?
Did you try to change the use cable?

Tried it on another computer, same thing.
Haven't tried another cable, don't have one.
Did you face the same problem before the MIUI rom? Sometimes the ROM could cause the problem

Running stock android (4.1.2) I did not experience the same problems, but I had other issues.
While on stock 4.1.2 my computer couldn't detect my device for some reason. It always failed to install the drivers and the "Troubleshoot connection issue" option in Kies did nothing. Every time I connected my device to the PC I got a "Device not recognized..." pop-up. I was able to get my PC to detect the phone but I had to do really strange things (strange as in I have no clue why it works) and it didn't always work.
What I did to get my PC to connect to my phone was:
1. Open settings
2. Go to USB options
3. Choose "Mount USB storage" (most likely not worded this way)
4. Connect my phone to the PC
5. Get a "Device not recognized" error
6. Go to developer options -> Enable USB debugging
7. Boom, it works. (but as I said not 100% of the time)
While doing all of this I had Kies running, otherwise the method doesn't yield anything.
I tried just enabling USB debugging and connecting the phone, but it didn't work that way. For some reason the only way to get it working was to mount the USB storage and enable USB debugging after that, all the while running Kies on my PC.

Currrently Im using Neat ROM for my GS2. I have kies totally uninstalled. I plugin my phone to the pc and it recogonized it. I have the USB debuggin set on. You can try to install another ROM tho, and make a full wip etc. I cant tell u that getting a new ROM will 100% solve your problem, but you can give it a try tho.
/Amiroslo
I have tried doing a full wipe and it doesn't help.
The only roms I have tried are stock 4.1.2 and MIUI.
I can't tell whether it's a Windows problem or a problem with my phone.
Try new stuff
Either
Try a new Rom, stock or aosp or aokp
update your usb drivers, just google and you will find the new one
Got a new cable. Worked.
