So my Poetic cases arrives today, bought 2 of them. Looking at them, they are really nice. Putting the Tablet in the case looked nice and all the holes lines up perfect, I was able to charge the tablet while in the case with no issues. This is "almost" the perfect case with one major flaw, the hand strap inside is too thick and when you snap the case closed, and open it after a minute, it leaves a really bad impression in your screen from the hand strap. Lucky I have a screen guard on so I am pretty sure it did not damage the actual screen. Also, due to the hand strap the case will not lay flush when closed. My wife and I are really disappointed, it was almost the perfect case. When already contacted the seller and are going to try and send them back.
Shame you have to send it back, but anything that messes with a tablet's screen is definitely a no go!
Just a quick update, we bought them through Amazon, but it was a reseller we actually bough them from. Returning them sounded like a pain, so we decided it was not worth our time. What we did was used a sewing stitch remover and removed the sticking around from the hand strap and removed the hand strap. The case actually works pretty well now. If I have time tonight, I will take picture of before and after (we have only modified one case so far, but plan to do the other).

Id def like to see pics if you get a chance please. Thinking about ordering and removing the hand strap as well. Was going to order the Moko one which is the same minus the strap but the in stock date keeps getting pushed back
I have the same case, and the same issue. I wrote a review here about the case and the strap. I also dont like the strap, as a matter of fact I have the same case for my Galaxy tab also, and the strap left an indention into the screen protector so I stopped using it. There are a few cases exactly like it that dont have the strap. Moko, Blurex, and a Minisuit, but the Minisuit one is not available until June 13th, but I highly recommend the Minisuit, after the issue with the poetic case on my galaxy Tab I bought the Minisuit without the strap and its the only case I use now. Im going to order one of the one listed here because I now have the exact same screen protector on my 300 and I dont want to handstrap the damage it.
Moko Case
I have the moko case from amazon. It works great. Fairly lightweight, yet feels very solid. Kickstand works great. The onlyslight problem is if you want to charge it while it is standing up, you have to put it in upside down, and the camera is blocked. But this is mainly ASUS's fault and it works perfect otherwise.
I ended up pitching these cases in the trash. I though removing the handstrap would make this a great case, but I took it out last night and noticed where one of the hooks are the screen and plastic is marred. Funny I bough a case to keep my tablet in pristine shape and this cases is what has caused my Damage.

I just got this case this morning and Im impressed to be honest.. but I dont know how the hand strap was making marks on your screen due to the fact on mine it is snug when closed but the strap isnt touching the screen

Wow. I cant see how it doesnt touch on yours. It so tight on mine it bulges out where the strap is. I ended up removing the strap, didnt like it so I ordered this blurex one here that is the same kind minus the strap.

Same issue, the case would bulge where the hand strap was, and when it was closed for a hour or more, when I opened the case, I could literally see indentations of where the stitching was and the line of the hand strap on my screen guard.

That is exactly what happened on my Galaxy Tab 7.7, thankfully the marks went away. But the bulge was always there, and caused a lot more pressure on the screen. My Blurex is out for delivery today. Ill update with pics later.
I havent even closed it with the case on for Id say no more than 30 mins as its either on the dock or I have it propped open with the case. When its making marks on your screen are these naked screens or do you have a screen protector on them?
I have a screen guard, one of invisible shield types where you apply them wet.

On mine it was with a XtremeGuard screen protector. Which is basically a cheaper Zagg.
Got my Blurex case today. Its nice, but Im thinking I might return it. I know things are usually tight when you first get them, but this is too tight. I had to push VERY hard to get the snap to close, and when it did it separated the trim from the case. The hook is just way too tight and should have been angled a little different so its not so hard to close. Take a look at the pic and youll see the snap hook Im talking about. And it wasnt just the closing hook, but all the others were very tight, without a lot of insulation/ padding which makes me think in time it will start scuffing the paint on the outer trim. The poetic case that I just got is the exact same style but has the hand strap, but it wasnt even close to as hard to snap in as this Blurex.
I really love these type of cases, but Im thinking I might have to go with a different style on my 300. I hate the look, but maybe one like this. Or Ill give this type one more try with the Minisuit case coming out on the 13th. I have a Minisuit just like it on my Galaxy Tab 7.7 and love it..
UPDATE: I was able to bend most of the tabs so that they arent so tight, but before I bent them I took a pic (pic#2)to show the difference in the hook from the Blurex case (top), and the Poetic case (bottom). If you look you can see that the poetic case is more round, and the Blurex has a sharper angle. This is why it was causing the bezel to pop off. But using my thumbs I was able to bend it enough that it doesnt pop it off, and closes ok now. I dont know if this was just mine, or if all the blurex cases do this. Added a few more pics as well.
Gam3r, I too like the "snap in" type cases. There doesn't seem to be a huge difference in quality from what I can see. Do you have any insight you'd like to share from the ones you have?
I read a post earlier this morning about how America doesn't make use of lanyards with phones too often. I really hadn't thought of this, but I think it would be really functional to have my EVO on a lanyard. Is there any way to securely attach a lanyard to the EVO? Perhaps with a thin case with a spot for a lanyard?
I really like this idea, personally.
The phone is so light, it would be awesome.
Modifying the glossy backing with two tiny holes centered above the camera lens may be an option, but a mod like that is something I am not comfortable doing myself. And, how secure would an attachment there be?
that's a good idea. I would try it on the phone case if you bought one
or perhaps, a good question is, who would have replacement glossy backings that I could purchase? Sprint? HTC? I would like to have an extra one to play and put holes in it so I don't ruin the original...
I would highly recommend not doing it through the removable cover! It's not designed to bear any weight or force without popping off the phone. Perhaps it would be better to get a TPU case, cut two holes somewhere on an edge and thread the lanyard through that?

Perhaps!
I normally get cases like the two layer Otterbox with a belt clip. I always keep my cellphone on my belt. Is there something similar for the HAM2? I haven't purchased the phone yet. What case is convenient and secure, without breaking the budget? Thanks
Check out the assessories thread here.
The most 'otterboxlike' case so far is the Trident Cyclops case. No belt loop in it but you could find a belt loop case and use that without removing the Cyclops for maximum protection.
Case for belt
Not sure where you live, but I found a case at a local swap meet in Long Beach for $8.
Makes a nice extra pocket.
Looking at one of those Cyclops rugged cases (this is as expensive as Otterbox ).
What I'd like to do is find a bicycle mount for it, no luck on Amazon thus far. There are a couple "universal" mounts but don't want plastic as it'll just become brittle and break (due Canadian weather).

This is where I got my case, I think free shipping to Canada made it cheaper than other vendors, but this was in the summer before the dollar was completely in the ****ter.

Got a universal dash/windshield mount for it too from accessory geeks, probably have a bike mount that'll suit your needs, they have a huge selection.
Thanks! It looks like they sell a few mounts, also they sell through Amazon so don't have to order direct (and have yet another account online to manage). They have a metal bike/bicycle tripod bracket but it's quite pricey for a piece of metal. The only thing that really worries me is that the HAM is in an odd size category so either the mount will be too big or too small. Found one mount that may work, but say "may work" lightly.
Perhaps what I could do is just eat the cost of that tripod mount and have a friend machine a proper mount for me to slot-in
Instead of creating a new thread, I thought I would ask within here. Please let me know if I should just open a new thread.
I am looking for two different cases. One with the thinnest blueprint possible, but a case that will protect the face with a lip wrap around [glass] and body from falls. I was thinking this one.

http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Bracket-Cover-Huawei/dp/B00QXKHWK2/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
The second case I was looking at that is kind of more of an after thought, a case that is part wallet, part case. Once again, from the same provide. However, I am afraid the corners of the phone won't be protect if it falls. This case doesn't look at that great either. Any recommendations?

http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Bracket-Cover-Huawei/dp/B00QXKHWK2/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
I currently have this case on the way, but it's taking forever and I don't think it will protect it from falls specially if it lands on the corners.

My best case ever with a nice lip action [so the phone's glass never touched any surfaces] was for my previous phone . The material saved it from many, many falls.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006CUZP84/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They all look about the same. Cheap cases did a test and they are effective as nothing. but if you want an alternative check out http://sugru.com/
I have a black leather flip case like the red leather one you posted. I love it. I have only used hard, extremely protective cases in the past , but there's not much in that category for this phone. I've always used a belt loop case too so I don't try and stuff my phone in to a pants or shirt pocket. I've had a short drop to a wood floor in this case and the phone was fine. I can't say what would happen in a high fall to a hard surface like concrete.

How high is a high fall to you? 6 feet? Was your short fall 3 feet high?

I am looking for an either or, relatively thin case with credit card slot or just a thin case.
Smays Genuine Leather Holder [I like this a lot, CC holder and it looks protective enough. Q: Would this protect the phone if it falls and lands on it's corners?]
http://www.amazon.com/Smays-Genuine...1425680666&sr=8-2&keywords=ascend+mate+2+case
SOJITEK BPA Crystal Clear [Not so excited about the whole crystal clear. To me, this sounds like a dust magnet, but other than that, it sounds like it will protect it every well.]

My favorite case ever was this one for my last phone. Diztronic Matte Case

I've been using the Smays case since October. So far, it's done a good job of protecting the phone. It's been dropped numerous times. It was also in my pocket when when I tripped while running and fell. I don't know if it's ever landed on a corner, though.

Do you think if it feel on a corner of the phone that it would be protected? Thank you for the reply.

I have this case. I think it looks nice and doesn't make a big phone even bigger, but needless to say: function > form. Once I dropped my phone face-first onto the sidewalk. I picked my phone up and when I flipped it over to examine the screen, I found a few chips around the corners of the case and one small one on the plastic rim on the front that surrounds the screen.
I think that Smays one is your best bet, unless you'd like the Cyclops one.

I'm not going to try to predict that, but I think it's safe to say that the corners and ends are the least protected parts of the phone when using this case. The plastic cradle that holds the phone extends partially around the corners, so they are not entirely without protection. I can think of some scenarios in which the case might not prevent damage to the phone if it were dropped from a distance of, say, four feet (about 1.2 meters) onto a hard surface, but the phone would have to fall in a very specfic way: face down, with one of the corners making first impact.
I think in most situations, this case should provide adequate protection, but it is not perfect.

I use the same case. The Nilkin cases are excellent.
Got a couple of UAG cases for the regular S7 and they are very hard to get the phone out of them. It's like you need a crowbar to remove the phone.:crying:
If you have a UAG case for the S7 is it tough to remove the phone from your case? :silly:
I start at the top then one side, going from a side first is very hard.

Not at all. Pull it from the top or bottom and it comes off very easily.
Agree, I also own UAG on S7 and you can put it off easily when you start from one side
Is the uag case actually a good one concerning drops??

An excellent case for protection, not bulky and imo unmatched by any case manufacturer for grip. Had one on my G4 and have friends with IPhones UAG's and we all have the same comments.

I do find the S6 + S7 revisions harder to take off than on previous versions of the case, but at least I know it won't come off when my phone falls
Same as above, I start in one corner (doesn't really matter which to me), and the rest general snaps out slowly.
Otherwise I push out the top + bottom of one side first.

i noticed that the phone was not 'sitting' perfectly in the case. i removed it and placed it back and the rubber lip above the usb port is no more loose.
del
Fortunately the phone is a bit difficult to get out of the case, but that's just the reason for the case, isn't it?
I start with the top-left corner and then gradually slide both down and right to get the side off.
And, indeed the rubber on the bottom is a bit soft (not loose!), I hope it will never fall on that side, because it might slide away and the glass could hit the ground

Very. I do start from one corner, the bottom as I don't like starting from the top because I don't want to loosing my power or volume buttons. I find it difficult in every way possible and that's a good thing as you can abuse your phone with as many drops and slams on the desks as you want.
