I was recently gifted a Gionee Elife S Plus. Friend bought a used phone. But, it has 1.5 gb ram. Moreover, vibration is not working.
But, I did a factory test pressing volume - & power buttons. Vibration was working in the test.
Volume + with power button boots in to stock gionee recovery.
I removed the battery to check the branding, but only IMEI numbers were written with no branding. But, battery and battery door are gionee branded.
On the housing, an alpha-numeric word is found. i.e. WBL7511A, which is also mentioned as model no. (Screenshots attached).
The phone itself is very smooth to use. Camera using flash produces tinted images.
The phone doesn't look to be a clone. Compared in real life with other Gionee Elife S Plus. Exactly same, except ram.
So, I am very confused with this phone. Is this a genuine phone? Allview V2 Viper X is the closest phone matching every specs.
Please help me find out the truth...

Hi guys,
Sorry, didn't know where to post.
Recently got this phone thlmobilestore.com/thl-w8-android-4-2-mtk6589-quad-core-smart-phone-5-0-inch-1080p-fhd-screen-12mp-back-camera-16g-white.html
Really happy with it.
However, roughly every hour or so it will just give me a black screen. I can hold the power button on the side and the touch buttons either side of the home button light up, but nothing on the screen. It is totally unresponsive on the screen, the only way is to reboot.
Any ideas how to fix? How do i get the latest software for this phone, i have no idea what software is on it already.
Thanks for any help.
Should add, build number is:
ThL_W8.JB2.FHD.EN.COM.8P128_MT6589v1.0.5_20130517
Understand there is a newer one out there, where can i find?

For your black screen problem, turn off auto brightness and put it manual at a medium level. If it's too low it will go black. That should solve it

developer's help needed (android) qmobile noir a 50 problem please answer ASAP
recently my noir a50 started causing problems and now it shuts down randomly and never powers on hardly after pulling and inserting the battery 1000's of times it turns on. but after some time the same sh*t happens again my battery is giving current i touched it with my tounge and got a shock. (not a big one only 3.7 v lol) and i touched the terminal (the golden pins to which the battery gets connected while charging it and also got a shock .(i know some of you are thinking that touching the battery with your lips is disgusting but guess what? its testing the battery without tools!) what ever now back to the question that the main summary of my q is "android turns off randomly and hardly after re-inserting battery 100's of times it powers on but it drags itself into the same mess again" i hope this is a software related issue or maximum a battery issue because right now i really need to use my phone but i cant perform a hardware change (obviously not by my self)" i will perform a factory wipe and flash the stock rom to it but if it powers on without this stuff so it would be better please help me out of this , peace brothersno no no it acts like there is no battery in it no lights glow no lcd backlight
Hi there.
STAR 8000 (MyAudio 5) broken, dysfunctional touch panel software fish definitely got me.
Ordered to N8000 touchpad while I tested some ROMs.
There was one which worked, but slightly wrong color (purple) in the image.
Came the touch, I put, it went perfectly.
I tested a few ROMs, now the color has been good, because I managed to find out which type of LCD's in it, but the touch interestingly it works: it's like and would reflect the length of the touch halved.
So, from the top downwards finger scroll halfway down, half of the top.
The Menu and Back buttons do not work, Home work.
In vain I packed back in front of the ruins, we do not go. W
I suffered a lot already and it did not find any meaningful information about what should be done occasionally.
Touch screen chip : FT5306..
He met someone like already?
Can any one help?

Same happened with a Galaxy Ace touchscreen I replaced (I own a phone repair shop). I changed it 3 times before understanding why it was behaving like that. There could be 4 options.
1) chinese replacement do not always work as expected
2) the chip/sensor has been unmagnetised (can happen with everything, a magnet or even the phone antenna)
3) there is some dirty between the LCD and the touchscreen
4) the replacement is not exactly the one you need
The galaxy Ace model I had to replace was S5830i but the chinese replacement was for the S5830 (sold as working for the S5830i too)

I know, exactly what happened to me. Then it started working by itself.
hi, I just got a phone brought from angola and I'm having a hard time finding the model number. the box is branded MBO and the system settings say manufacturer Maxx Mobile Pvt. Ltd. along with the mbo logo, model P6000, build number R05, custum build version 09.24, the back cover has both Huawei and mbo logos, when the phone turns on it shows the huawei boot animation and the usb cable and headphones are branded G-Five. pcb is hct72_wet_jb3, android 4.2.2, mtk6572, 512 ram, 4gb rom, 5mp w/flash+2mp, 4.7" 540x960 (reported as 6.7").
is there a chance of finding a compatible rom?
the model on the box is P6, it reports having a AKM8693 3-axis (?) magnetic sensor but it always shows the same reading, 2-point multitouch that only works along the long axis of the screen, has proximity and light sensor and akm8693 3-axis accelerometer.
this thing is driving me crazy, I cant even root it. help, please?
I have too this phone, any update firmware? my have 4.2.2 android
Hi Folks,
A strange one for you
My power stopped working on my LG G5 , so I unrooted and relocked the bootloader and sent to LG for warrenty to repair.
Well as usual the gave me some bull**** excuse as to why they cant.
I cannot even change the power button. When I inspected it , the problem is some of the pins are missing from the logic board for sending power to the power button.
i can power the phone on no problem by simple sticking a usb cable into it.
My problem is , i cannot install twrp, because to make it stick I would need to remove batter and boot into recovery which is not possible wihtout the power button working.
I tried the old fastboot boot command to try install supersu but it wont boot into TWRP.
Does anyone know of anyway to install supersoo wth out custom recovery or does anyone know of a command to boot twrp from fastboot.
Iv searched and searched and searched. No joy as of yet
Thanks
What was there excuse for not fixing?
The gps didnt work and the power button failed, they took a photo of something inside stating it was liquid contaminated, some blue paper or something , they didnt even bother to investigate further after that , my balls was it , i fixed the gps when they returned it to me , i just corrected the pins, the same for the power button only it appears a couple of the pins are no longer there so i have no way to fully repair, i had. The lgg3 , bootloop issue they repaired it , lg g4 bad logic board they replaced that and now the g5 , the last LG i get , there is serious quality issues with there manufacturing lines in my opinion

Yeah I agree 100. Samsung Note 8 my next phone. Now that is true update. Unlike the latest galaxy 8 and LG G6. I don't like to complain, but yeah the build quality is straight garbage in these LGs. And LG wonders why there sales are going down lol. Build quality crap and no true innovation.
Yeah, I also had to manually fix the GPS issue but I still seem to having issues. Sometimes it takes the GPS over 30 seconds to lock which is annoying when I need it right away.
What about flashing twrp on both partition recovery and recoveryback
