Hi all,
I'm seeing reports that mm has been released for the z2 in the limited beta that's being run, is anyone here on it that can report in (or get a dump of the ROM [emoji33] )

OK I've it confirmed by Sony that mm is coming to the z2 tab, no date though.

If you hve XperiaFirm, 6.0.1 has been released all around the world. I'm downloading the firmware atm
Until now it is only for North America, Asia (excluding JP), and AU/NZ. I wonder when it will be release for the rest of the world and why the delay.

Fantastic news, but if the rumours are true about the new features not being included, I can see why retention rates are so low with Sony devices.
Obviously by not back porting new features, it's their way of encouraging sales of new devices.
Not that I'm complaining about KitKat though
Official announcement by Sony Mobile here http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2014/03/19/new-sony-software-upgrade-including-android-4-4-kitkat-rolls-for-xperia-z-ultra-xperia-z1-and-xperia-z1-compact/

If you think a bit you know why they aren't included (yet). After Z2 release we might get them, before Z2 release? No that wouldn't be a good marketing strategy for Z2.

Hurray
I am so happy its coming :highfive::good:.... this is one of the primary reason I bought the phone from manufacturer, so we can get the update. Rather than wait for AT&T to roll out or not roll out. Obviously this one wasnt with any manuf anyways.
I just connected my C6806 to PC companion to check ... no update yet, it might be available later in the day for this model.
Official changelog from the Sony website:
Introducing Android 4.4.2 KitKat with many new features and enhancements
Updated Camera application and overall tuning to improve the camera experience
Enhanced email app
Stability, performance & battery improvements
I hope sony doesn't include bloatware 3rd party apps as there were rumors on it recently..
would be great if they include "move to SD" for apps
Confirmed rolled out in India C6802

SUS is downloading 972 MB right now - the 136 version was something around 880 MB. Hmmmm. I flashed my self-created 257 Europe LTE a few minutes ago to see if that one is getting the update. Germany LTE 136 was only loading itself again and again via SUS.
updating z ultra germany version
anybody getting their update on C6802 in USA?
Just checked SUS and have a 966.1mb update available for UK C6833.
update finish, testing
confirming german update

please post your jb build.prop
Everything feels alot more fluid, more so than it was on 4.3 and I'm pleased to say the old 4.2 touch screen sound is back lol
I like the new phone lock/unlock sound too.
How come the xperia z1 got the 4.4.4 update and the Z2 still 4.4.2
Is there a chance to get the new update!!!

But Android L is too far away, maybe end of this year.
4.4.4 may release for Z2 1 month after launching of Z3

I think I would rather wait another 6 months and get L, 4.4.4 isn't going to make a huge difference to how the phone runs

you will be supprized
4.4.2 is the reason why z2 has wifi ,bluetooth and avg load issues... some more, 4.4.3 will fix all of that and 4.4.4 is a security improvement from 443
in short 4.4.2 is causing minor lag and wifi, bluetooth and mobile data connection issues

Yes , I think so, I won't make big different compare to 4.4.2
Z1, Z1c users report that 4.4.4 has brought their phone a better battery life instead of new features.
Android maybe we'll get next year with "limited" features or we have to wait after Z4 announcement. Just like what they did to Z1, Z1c and Z Ultra (Got kitkat after Z2 release)
I think we go directly to android L

According to many sources, there isn't exact date for that "yet". But I heard the rumour that Lollipop for Z3 is releasing
in "early feb", and I would expect it would be same for Z2, or 2 weeks later at latest.
I'd say longer, isn't it normally about 3 weeks after it gets put up for certification?
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
Usualy its about 2-7 weeks after it shows on PTCRB
Ohk
... z2? [not sure why the end of the title disappeared]
Seems like there are some worthy updates in this one.

They updated their aosp just days after the source was released so they are likely already working on the update

This!
And you can try out 5.1 with 3.10 Kernel from freeXperia
I think it should be relatively fast update comapred from 4.4.4 to lollipop

4.4.2 was fast
4.4.4 slow
5.0 slow
5.1 should be fast
What are the odds. I'd say it's a dead cert. I'd say the z2 will also be updated to the android version that launches with the new nexus in October too.
Z2 has a way to go before support ends.
Z will end on 5.0.2, Z1 may get 5.1 but that's in the lap of the gods!

Let them first rollout the 5.0.2 update. Apart from 2-3 regions everybody is waiting.

What regions were already updated? Which is the upgrade with fewer errors?
At this rate I would like to see them surprise us with a rollout straight to 5.1 if that is possible.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
I honestly think all the Z series will be updated to 5.1 but if nexus 4 won't see the next version most likely Z won't receive the update but whole Z1 to Z3 will receive it.
