The original Honor weather/clock widget doesn't work with another launcher like Nova Launcher or Google Now Launcher.
Is there a way to fix this?

Nope. This widgets are only for EMUI launcher.
So it's absolutely impossible to get this on Nova Launcher? Because the blue weather widget from the 'Home screen style - Simple' works fine (but I don't like this design).
I have updated to B330 and the widget is a bit changed. Now I got the line in the middle + date.
Is there a way to customize something to give permission for the location and temperature?
Ok, finally I found an acceptable solution
It's a look-a-like widget and not 100% the same, but close enough to the original. You'll need XWidget from the Play Store and then select 'Huawei CW Widget' in the app.
On my homescreen I have linked it to the official Honor Clock app when I tap the widget.
I made a small video to show how it works. You can create hotspots and link it to an app or something. I made a hotspot for the time to open the Clock app and for the weather I use the XWidget AccuWeather settings.

I hope this helps. I'm also trying Nova and can't use Huawei weather app, so after installing many apps from Google Play (annoying ads, or with extra useless info, or pricey), I decided to try other brands' stock weather apps from APK Mirror: Samsung failed, Xiaomi failed, Oppo failed, but Azus stock weather app worked like a charm. Precise and concise weather info, without ads, with a nice widget (Nova compatible, of course), etc.. Give it a try.
Perhaps, the only drawback is that there are only two 4x2 widgets... But something is something.

Hi,
Coming from HTC Sense and really miss the 4x1 Weather + Clock widget that used the current location. Something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've been googling for a replacement but haven't found a widget that matches my requirements yet.
Thankful for any suggestions.
EDIT: Need the current location to show in the widget, so I know what the time is based on.
Check out HD widgets from the play store. You can pretty much configure every kind of widget including 4x1 clock and weather.

Hey there, of all the different widgets Id say using UCCW would be the best it allows you pick from hundreds of themes and you can get the HTC one as well

Thank you for tip!
I like the widget and its possible settings. However, is there no 4x1 widget for BOTH weather and clock? That was one of my hard requirements.
Does the full version include it?
EDIT: Think I missed how to change the widget type. Found one that had both weather and clock. Liked it. Paid. Thanks.
Like the title said, is there a weather widget that shows the hourly conditions as well as 5-7 day forecasts?
Thanks!
you can download HD widgets from the market that provides a big clock with weather and another widget with 5 or 7 days forecast but it will cost you 1,99€..
I have weather widgets right now and am using the template that has the clock and weatehr for one day only because it only took up half the space on my homescreen, the one with clock and 5 day weather takes up a whole page.
I downloaded the beta of Recast, and i really liked it.
It's out on the market now, i think i will buy it too.
It can be found here
I added a screenshot to show you what it looked like on my phone, just to give you an idea.
There are many widget layouts to choose from as well as different styles and additional styles you can download through the app.

If anyone's still looking, I made one - because I was annoyed that none of the weather widgets had a sensible hourly weather forecast.
Search Google Play for "Hourly Weather Widget" (exact title), its a couple rows down the results.
bbc weather is good!

I'm a bit into customizing my home screens to make it look like the ones on mycolorscreen.com and in those UCCW threads.
But there is one thing thats bugging me, and that is the use of app icons on the home screen. I dont like it, its too messy and too iOS'ish.
Some are replacing the app icons with other custom icons, or removes them completely, but i rarely see what i've been trying to do; to make custom icons that open a meny of apps (in one genre..)
Like one icon for music apps, and one for travel apps etc.
I have tried to fix this using tasker widgets, like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and when i click on the music icon, wich is a tasker widget, it opens a tasker scene with a meny of 4 music apps:
This works pretty good, but i would like the tasker widget icons to be just icons, no subtext under the icon. There is no way in tasker to do this i think, i've tried to make a task with no name but it is simply not allowed.
I've also tried to make a uccw widget, but hotspots in uccw can open apps and shortcut, not a meny of apps..
So the reason why i'm posting this is to find anyone who like my idea, and would make an app that can make widgets that open a meny of apps with custom icons (with the option to remove subtext)
Or does anyone know of a way to do this? with another launcer perhaps? (im using ADW EX)
i know that i can make the launcher remove text under icons, but this doen not apply to my tasker widgets.
seriously just create folders with your other apps inside each folder.

OK so almost everyone seems to hate TouchWiz. So what Home Launcher are you using? And why?
I am using Nova launcher Prime. I like to fully customize my home screen.
It has lots of options and themes and it's pretty fast. So how about you?

Me too , Nova launcher prime ?
Solo Launcher. Its free and easy to customize. I wish there were more unread count options though and the unread count icon kind of sucks but all in all, I like it.
Stock launcher (with minor mods). It works great and hard to see much reason to install a third party launcher. .
The mods I made were aesthetic e.g. dumping the Accuweather widget, replaced some icons, like the ugly app drawer one, removed the home row icon labels and five icons, instead of four per row.

Nova launcher prime here...what's that theme
Is there a difference between nova and solo? I'm cheap and don't want to fork out 4 dollars if there's nothing spectacularly different? ?

Nova. I wanted something simple with 4x5 grid capabilities. No widgets, black wallpaper, black lock screen.
This has been hounding me since EMUI 3.1 and now there's an easy way to solve it by exploiting a bug in the widget handling.
Maybe you've seen it before. You choose another launcher and you get EMUI icons. Then you choose another icon pack, or none, or system - and you end up with blank icons.
Get an add-on launcher like Nova (free) or Smart Launcher 3 Pro. If you're already using one, SAVE YOUR SETUP in the launcher.
In the launcher settings, choose system, default, or none for the icon style.
Now add the the first Weather widget shown in the upper left, your selection method may vary by launcher -

Your screen will freak out for a moment and give you a scary warning about the launcher being no good and tell you to uninstall it. Cancel/ignore that.
You'll now be in the stock EMUI launcher with stock Oreo or default icons for everything.
Go to settings, apps, the other launcher, storage, and clear cache and data. If you want to use that launcher, bring it back up and restore the backup.
Either way, regardless of the launcher you choose, you'll be free of the EMUI icons - except for the Huawei/honor apps - and you won't need to mess with custom themes for that.
Hope that helps.
