Guys, help!
I have my C5 Ultra rooted, and tried to Encrypt it without reading about doing it while rooted.
Now the phone is in a soft brick. The phone does power up and gets stuck at the operator's logo. I removed the SD card and it's intact, I didn't lose any data there.
I don't have access to a windows computer at the moment, will Sony PC Companion help me recover my phone? Or will I be able to flash a stock ROM downloaded from XperiFirm and then flashing with the latest FlashTool with a Locked Bootloader?
Please advise!
Just download the ftf via flashtool then flash wiping cache and data for best results

Its just useless. Just connect phone at flashmode, pc companion will recognize the phone and you will find the repair section. It will automatically dl the firmware and flash itself

im using flashing .58 via flash tool and it said - android version/kernel version:-exec'/system/bin/sh'failed: No file or directory(2)-
First you power off your phone then hold the volume down button then connect to flashtool to flash firmwares
And you need adb drivers installed, find them in the flashtool folder or just download my app (romhub.codeplex.com)

Hit thanks if I helped
I don't get it. Why exactly can't you flash with flashtool? No PC?
If you can get into flashmode, then flashtool should work just fine.
In most cases, getting stuck on the SE logo means you've got a kernel-ROM mismatch. Flashing the correct kernel should allow the ROM to boot. Mind telling which kernel & ROM you're on?
Sometimes it happens

Did u unlock bootloader? Or still locked?
Flash generic ftf using flashtool or try repair using PCC.

If you have installed clockworkmod recovery and able to boot into recovery, then try flashing any custom rom(don't forget to wipe cache and data).
OR
Flash a GB or ICS rom (.ftf extension) via flashtool.
you need to download any .ftf firmware for your phone.
then install flashtool.
put your downloaded .ftf files to C/program files/flashtool/firmwares.
turn off your phone, hold down the volume down button, while you do that don't let it go just yet.
open flashtool.
connect your phone to pc using usb cable.
wait until flashtool recognized your device.
then click on the lightning icon and choose flashmode.
then choose the .ftf files that you just downloaded then click on "start" if im not mistaken.
then just sit back and relax and wait till flashing finished.
that's it. your phone will boot normally.
if you dont want your files in phone memory (downloaded games/apps/settings),
unchecked wipe data and cache in flashtool before you flash the .ftf
Flash Using Flashtool
Just flash your phone using flash tool.
1. Download the respective *.ftf file for your phone.
2. And then flash using the flash tool available for xperia.
:good:
if you really want to save your data ..and you already have cmw ..
there is a tricky way ..but not sure if it would work or not
Thank you very much guys. I reflashed my phone. Problem solved, but all my messeages gone, thats the only bad thing, and Market app is still not updates to Google Play, i dont know why

Found in sony forum:
Forgot the answer to your security question or misplaced your Gmail password and you can’t get passed the pattern password on your Xperia Android phone? Don’t worry; here are two options on how to fix it.
1.
If your phone is asking you for your Gmail password to unlock the pattern password you can change your Gmail password according to the guide on www.gmail.com > “Can’t access your account”.
When you’ve changed the password you simply enter the new password in your phone to unlock it.
(Note that in order for this to work your phone needs to have a working Internet connection)
2.
If your phone is asking you to enter the answer to a set security question you will need to perform a software repair on the phone using PC Companion. Note by doing this the internal memory on the phone will also be reset.
Start by downloading and install PC Companion.
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
In PC Companion go to Support Zone > Software update > Repair phone
(Do this while phone is not connected via USB)
Now follow on-screen instructions to repair the phone software.

If your phone isn't rooted you can't enter cwm, there is no recovery. Just connect it to flashtool and try repair options.

No, I noticed it, too. On sony roms it doesn't ask you for your google account, don't know why

I think we can enter cwm using:
Code:
fastboot -i 0xfce boot boot.img
without flashing the custom kernel.
I hope it helps.

I installed CWM for testing a ROM from XDA.
Now I can't connect my device to the PC and it looks like I can't get in flashmode.
PC Companion isn't recognizing my phone.
I tried several cables and charging works - it even prepares the internal storage (notification bar) but I don't see my Xperia P in Explorer and in PC Companion.
It's strange, that the issues came since I installed CWM.
If I uninstalled it, would I get into flashmode or see my device in Explorer? I don't really like the ROM I flashed, I always get force close in several apps.
Also, when I wanted to flash with CWM I made a "X" for backing up my data. Can I restore my system like it was before flash? (While flashing, there were some messages like "backing up" or sth)
And last question: When I flashed CWM I got a message about ROOT, I had to chosse if I want it or not. I choosed yes, but it said "this cannot be undone". I googled and noone posted this ROOT question before. Is this normal?
102 views and noone knows how to do that?
U cant unflash a CWM unless u go back to your stock firmware as CWM comes with different kernels. And the reason why PC and SEUS wont recognize your phone is because you have unlocked it and rooted it with custom kernel. I assume you are using GB coz i faced the internal storage problem with GB stock and the mtp process which is actually stupid of sony. Anywayz, U need to flash the stock firmware again to make those work again plus if you dont want the CWM too. But if you just want to keep your root but no CWM then u got to reflash your stock firmware, go to fastboot mode, flash a stock kernel (GB and ICS have different kernels which u can find over xda), then fastboot your stock kernel again. This procedure will let you keep your root but wont use custom kernels a.k.a CWM. If you are into ICS then u can use the custom kernels coz it wont do any damages or hiccups while u try to connect your phone to PC.
FOR SD CARD MOUNTING OVER GB : SD CARD MOUNTER FOR Xperia S,P,SOLA (GB ONLY)
DOOM KERNEL :DOOMKERNEL ONLY FOR STOCK GB
ADVANCE STOCK KERNEL : ADVANCE STOCK KERNELS FOR ICS

I personally hate PCC. You can always find the latest firmware within hours of its first release, so its pretty easy to get and flash it back using flashtool easily. By the way, do check the links i provided later on my previous comments. Might help you

And thanks for the links, I didn't notice them the first time I read your post
Hello
I am currently in a big problem. I just accidently wiped all my data. I didn't backup and cwm is not installing aokp rom. The boot screen only stucks to "Free Xperia Project" Logo and does nothing else.
I tried flashing ics firmwire again but it failed. I also tried pushing cyanogenmod rom to my sd card my it keep on giving no device error.
I dont know what to do now. Simply cant even explain it properly. Can someone help me please.
Did you try repair with SUS or PCC?
If you can still enter CWM or you even get a boot logo then your ok, it will be an easy fix.

PCC and SUS are not able to detect XPU because XPU is not able to connect to pc.
Yes I can enter CWM and see boot logo.

Enter cwm, connect the phone to the pc, open something like "mounts and storage">"mount usb storage" in recovery.
Copy the rom that you want to flash from pc on your internal memory, unmount usb storage and flash the rom :fingers-crossed:
Can you connect in flashmode? If so,flash stock ftf file.
