hmmm. i have been on MM for a few weeks already and no issues, but just a few days ago, my fps will not work. will not detect my finger print... i tried without case and even took out the cover... is this probably a hardware issue? did a factory reformat, but still the same. any way to find out if this is a software/hardware issue?

Hello,
I'm experiencing some quality issues with my fingerprint scanner. It works great for a couple of days after the finger profile setup, but then its quality becomes poor: on unlock attempts failures ("Finger did not verify") appear more and more frequently. After several days I can unlock my phone using ~10 attempts. If I resetup the finger profile, it works great again, for a few days. Does anyone experience this problem? Also, when I resetup the profile, its says something about "clearing optimizations". Maybe this "optimizations" are reason of the quality issues?
Am I the only one who has this problem?
No the rest of us just don't bother using fingerprint scanner cause we don't work for the FBI. And our contents aren't considered double top secret.

Hi there, I have a problem with my S2. It was all fine and dandy (even after several bumps) until last week I dropped it and the screen died. I have had the screen replaced and found that now none of the motion sensors work. I've tried the *#0*# test which sometimes says the gyro passes and sometimes fails. It says the magnetic sensor needs calibration. Is there any way of telling if I've fried the hardware? I have factory reset the phone with no joy.
I have the same problem, I think it's a hardware issue.
I will get mine today to be checked, to be sure.
Great thanks.
Hey, I promised I keep you up to date.
I went to a Samsung service center and it was to expensive just to check for problems, let alone fix them.
And a few days later I restarted the phone and the accelerometer and magnetic sensors were functional again, after a quick calibration everything was fixed for me.
Hope you fix your phone.
Try it to calibrate with GPS ESSENTIALS it's a free app and you find in YouTube videos how to calibrate.

My proximity sensor seemed to quit working. On beans 20. Has been working great. Accidentally dropped my phone and made a few calls to realize proximity wasn't working. Is there a way to test the proximity sensor before I go drop coin on a new note 2?

I also have zero red light where the proximity sensor is

Try installing CPU-Z. It lets you look at all the sensor readouts in realtime. Once you are on the page with the proximity sensor listed, just put your hand over it. You can even try moving your hand closer and further away. If the value for the proximity sensor changes while you are doing this, then you know it is still functional.
Tried cpu-z and it was not functional at all. Did a battery pull and on the 4 battery pull it kicked on. Weird

Easy FIX!!!!!
I took a can of compressed air and blew it through the top earpiece grill a few times and Voila, it works great now!!
I actually used a Old perfume can which perfume was over and it was only pressing Gas OFF!!
I noticed mine wasn't working earlier today. I decided to go into TWRP and wipe cache, dalvik, and fix permissions. Not sure if that helped, or if it was just the reboot, but mine started working again. Just thought I would mention this in case it helps.
So my Prime's back 8mp camera is messed up. When I use my back camera, all I see is green lines running all across the screen. my front facing camera works fine. When I take a picture using back camera, green lines everywhere, can't see anything, the flash turns on, I can hear the auto focus working, but then it force closes. I believe that it is the cable connecting to the camera is out of place. I tried doing the pinching my tablet on the camera, and it worked, but when I let go, my camera glitches out. But now it doesn't work anymore when I try to pinch the camera.
I'm thinking about opening my tablet and try to reconnect the cable together. Has any1 ever fixed their camera problem? If so, how easy was it to do so.
Thanks!

Had the same problem a while back. Was still under warranty so I sent it in for repair. All I know is that it's a pretty common problem and that it definitely is a hardware issue.

Oh well my tablet I got a year ago on May 1st, so my warranty is expired. Also I unlocked the bootloader so i voided warranty anyways.
Happened to my back camera few days ago. Is there any known fix, outside warranty (bought my device two years ago, so it's not an option)?
I've never had this issue so I'm bot the best to advice. But It should be fixable, you just have to open your prime and do a little mod with the pogo pins, I'm pretty sure there was a thread with instructions for the fix.

Has anyone had this occur?
It's happened twice now and a factory reset fixes it but only temporarily. If the phone is left alone, the second screen will normally dim to roughly half it's brightness on its own. This is normal, however mine stays continually at full brightness and has stopped dimming, again. Also if the proximity sensor is covered by either placing the phone in your pocket or turning it screen down in the table. The screen will completely turn off. Once removed from the pocket or turning it face up, it will normally turn back on. Easily seen by testing this. However, mine has stopped turning off on either example. It stays on constantly no matter what. I have done a factory reset twice before and it fixes the issue but that is getting old. Does anyone have this issue or advice on how to fix this? I would be very grateful. I'm tired of resetting my phone.
Thank you

No one knows eh? It's a mystery to me as well. Wondering if it's a proximity sensor problem. ?

Hmm.. I installed a few applications to test the proximity sensor. Turns out it's not working. This in turn prompted me to search of the issue with regards to the proximity sensor malfunctioning. I discovered a couple threads declaring similar problems with the second screen after folks disabled system applications.
My phone is not rooted but I've disabled Instagram and Facebook through the applications settings on the phone. This was dinner sometime shortly before the recent malfunction. These of course on the v10 are system applicants, at least on T-Mobile.
Long story short, the only way to fix it sounds like what I've been doing, factory reset.

The proximity sensor is definitely not working. It's pretty obvious during a phone call as well. I'm going to utilize LG bridge to back up tomorrow. Then I'll do a factory reset.
There's definitely a connection when disabling system apps through the normal application settings route. Not sure how many are affected by this. But if it ever effects someone else, remember this thread.
I'll post results tomorrow. At this point I'm convinced it's not hardware related and if things return to normal afterwards. That'll confirm my suspicions that there's a bad bug floating around to what degree I'm not sure.
