backlight leaking from magnetic charging port!

Hi guys i was using my z2 in total dark and just found out that screen backlight is leaking from magnetic charging port of the phone.
It seems like there's small gap between the port and lcd.
My concern is that it might affect waterproof function of the phone. (Maybe my z2 is a defected unit.. )
can you guys check if backlight from the screen leaks through magnetic charging port of your z2?
Thanks
PS. Mine bought 2 days ago from bell Canada. 14w17batch

Thanks for the reply guys,It looks like it's only my phone that is having light leakage problem.
I am going to take it to the Sony service center tomorrow and see what they offer me.
ps. Does anyone know how to check total call minutes?
bell offers refund/exchange only if the phone was used less than 30minute/50MB Data.
No leak here either.

No leak too.
If you have the white model and you set your screen brightness to 100% (with no adaptive), you can actually see the screen's backlight bleeding through even in the USB port area.
It looks like it may just be backlight bleeding through the plastic bit. I'll give it a go tonight in the dark with 100% brightness and update you on it.

I just had a look with the phone in a dark drawer and I can see the bleed you're talking about. It's a small gap between the metal frame and the plastic of the magnetic dock.
I am just assuming it's light going through the white plastic more than anything else.
For those who reported no such bleed, what colour is your Z2?
Purple

I also have a white Xperia Z2 and I DO have backlight bleeding through the magnetic charging port. It's very faint, but it's definitely a sliver of light bleeding through the plastic bit of the frame.
Mine has also backlight bleeding through the magnetic port. As i have tested, the waterproofing of my phone is not affected by this issue.

The forum refers to the magnetic port backlight leakage. To inform everyone usually with the white model. Its alright and its normal. Waterproofing not affected.

Yep. Normal. Removing the flaps youll see the internal parts in certain angle. So for best protection dont remove the flaps and use magnetic chargers.

No backlight leaking on mine, however after a couple minutes in the shower, I noticed water had got into the screen through the magnetic charging port, I had all ports closed ?
Sent from my Xperia Z2
Aww. Do you use magnetic dock for charging? Maybe the magnetic port is already loose thats why the water gets inside. Several Z2 users experienced loose magnetic port.
Still working? Do you able to drain the water from your z2?

Yeah I use the magnetic dock charger, I tried moving/pushing the magnetic port but it sits very solid.
Anyways I was gonna take it to the store I bought it from but the water disappeared after one day.
The repair would take about 3 weeks so for now I just gonna avoid having my Z2 near water.

Xperia Z2 Screen Sensitivity issue (with SGP Sony Xperia Z2 Screen Protector GLAS.tR)

My new Xperia Z2 touch screen sensitivity seems to be too sensitive. I applied Sony Xperia Z2 Screen Protector GLAS.tR NANO SLIM and it is very good one. The problem is the screen registered finger hovering as a touch!! I don't even touch the screen, just hovering it, it seems to press by itself. By using Style Cover Stand SCR10 - Sony for Z2, it get even worse. The screen touches the cover while I am walking, sometimes it changes music and calls someone too. This is very hard to use. While I talk on the phone, the cover touches the number and sometime touches at End Call. I have checked the Glove mode, and it is always Turned off. I asked Xperia Care, they suggested that, I need to turn off the Glove Mode, and turn off, Double Tab to wake. I did them, but the issue is still occurred. I have updated firmware to the newest one, the problem is still occurred. Has anyone encounter the same issue as I have? If you have, can you solve it? if so how to do so?
Please help me.
Thank you very much
You could try going to settings > accessibility and then at the bottom change touch and hold delay to medium or long. Might make a difference.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. i will try it =]
Do you have ever have this issue before? i just wonder that, this over sensitive is due to the screen itself, or the glass protector

I've had it were I've accidentally exited apps or tapped on something by mistake as the screen was too sensitive. That setting seems to have made a difference though...unless I'm just more aware of the problem so make a conscious effort not to leave my fingers hovering over the screen. I've not tried the phone without a screen protector so can't say if this has made any difference or not.
Thank you very much =]
Well I've not notice an improvement with different screen protectors. Started with a Spigen antiglare one and have a Roxfit antifingerprint one on now. Same sensitivity.

Yup it does unfortunately.
Do you have, by any chance, a third party launcher installed? My screen sensitivity was messed up with Nova Launcher, had to uninstall it.
Just dont :/

Hello, remove any laucher you have till new update of the firmware it will definitely bug your phone :/
I'm using stock launcher. Yeah I hope Sony fixes this with their next update - and hopefully they are aware of it.
Check you don't have "gloves mode" switched on. I had that on and I think it increases sensitivity so when hovering it registers. I've since turned it off and seems to work fine. Settings, display, glove mode.
Hope it helps

LG G2 touchscreen sensitivity: fingernail

Hello everyone,
Seems like LG g2 screen is not responding to nails. Or I'm the only one with defective unit ? Google doesn't answer this question.
ALso i have noticed that screen is not as sensitive as my previous samsung galaxies... i can always touch the screen very gently so it won't respond. It is a not too big deal for me, but it's interesting.
I have tried this with screen protector and without.
Your comments ?
Cut your nails. It gives better hygiene.

Hello.
You're right about the G2 not responding to nails. It has a capacitive touchscreen which basically means that when you touch the screen with your finger, your fingertip, which has an electric charge, disturbs the electrostatic field of your screen and thats what your phone interprets as an input.
Now your nail, which is made of keratine, can conduct an electrical charge but it's highly dependent on the water content of the nail, but a more important factor is the contact area between the screen and the nail. Since a nail touching a screen only touches very few mm^2 and a fingertip often touches about 0.5 cm^2 there's a big difference in the electrical charge that is transferred. Thats also the reason why if you touch the screen very gently you wont get a response either.
Final note: some phones require less electrical current to distort their electrostatic field thus registering a touch easier, and some phones actually have a resistive layer so you can use your phone with gloves. It's just not this phone.
I hope this helps.

Actually the screen is made very sensitive so that it can work with gloves on, nailbed, pen tip, pocket multi tools, knives!
U better return it and ask to replace the unit!

Yes Im also reading articles that G2 should work with nails and gloves on. Maybe it depends on carrier ?
Any other thoughts ? Does anybody having issues with screen not working using fingernails ?
I assume for girl with long nails this phone would not be usable :fingers-crossed:
you must have wet fingernail to response
Mine doesn't work with fingernails?

Knock on put the touch display always on, so the voltage is very low on LG g2, not like Samsung phone wich is more reactive, even with glows

Li-ion battery?

Hi,
I'm thinking about replacing my current battery with li-ion battery instead, mostly because it's cheaper and it can "collect" more energy.
The problem is that it has to be charged properly and idk if the phone is able to do that.
Are there some people who are already using it, and if so, what's your experience?

I was under the impression that the z2 was packing a li-ion battery, and that the li-polymer stamp only was refering to the soft wrapping around the battery.
It may be i am wrong, but my battery have Li-ion with big letters on it, the polymer-bit is more of a fotnote in the text.

Frame broken after drop. Need advice.

Hi all.
I dropped my z2 and now the middle frame is broken and kind of seperated from display. The width seems to get bigger with time. I'm afraid it could damage the screen.
What could you advice me?
Should I try to replace the middle frame only?
I have had a nexus 4 before and have successfully replaced the digitizer by seperating it from lcd without damaging lcd.
Oh. Damn.
Of course I would check for some tutorial on the Internet how to disassemble the phone. If it is like doable-level then I would go for it. But if it would seem to hard, like if you could damage something easily then I would leave it the way it is.

Ok I managed to change the frame but now my phone's sensors stopped working (accelerometer, proximity)
In service menu the proximity shows off always, and the accelerometer test also fails..
Any advice?
