[Q] [issue] Battery drain after update to CM13.0 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I was update my i9100 to CM 13.0. Everything works fine, mobile is fast and in idle is battery good. It should be better, but no problem... But. If I am working on phone, battery is draining very fast. Some about 10% per hour. I try reinstall, wipe ally etc. Still bad battery life.
My kernel version is: Linux version 3.0.101-CM-g3419d27.
How I was installing CM13 from CM12
- flash cwm via odin
- install kitkat compatible cwm from zip
- wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache
- flash dorimanX kernel + 3GB pit file
- install CM13.0 + Gapps Pico 6.0
What can I do? Battery life is really bad.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Greetings from Czech

Hi,
If you find that screen on time is bad on CM13, you might want to consider downgrading. You could try running greenify to hibernate unused apps, but it may not help much. Other than that, nothing else can be done to give a noticeable increase in battery life.

Also if you have just installed CM13 give it a week or two as I found the first week the battery life seem a little crap but balanced out the following week

Yes there would be an option once you start to install the kernel
After flashing recovery with rommanger,You have to boot into recovery, There are options in the list for wiping cache and battery status.

thanks guys flashed successfully first kernel on my phone now where can i find oveclock settings???
Wipe cache & dalvik cache from custom recovery and then flash kernel. That's all.
For battery stats:
- charge your phone
- when it's fully charged keep the charger plugged and boot into recovery
- with the charger still plugged wipe battery stats and reboot
- pull out your charger only after the system boots completly
To overclock install SetCPU (find it on the forum)

Charge your cell to 100% then clear battery stats ,that will give you more power i think ,or try battery calibrator ,it also does the same thing.

I tried wiping battery status before and after ROM install..never had any issues with that.
Battery stats have no influence whatsoever on phone crashes
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Just wipe the battery when 100%
its just a standard thing.. If you don't believe us.
Don't blame the dev and us for making your battery died faster.

[Q] How do I reload Honeycomb?

I "upgraded" to the Italian version of ICS, as I couldn't wait for the real thing. Mistake - terrible battery drain has made it unusable.
So now I want to go back to Honeycomb. After half a day's effort, I managed to root my Tab, and have installed CWM. I have a copy of the UK firmware v3.2, but how to install it? Where do I put the copy of the ROM - on root of the folder structure I suppose? What do I have to wipe first before flashing with CWM? I say this because trying to install HC from Odin did not work and led to a reboot loop.
Of course, some kind soul here may be able to recommend a functioning ICS ROM instead ...
Otherwise, how do I get back to stock Honeycomb?
TIA

Go download the latest ics 4.0.4 rom from South Africa on sammobile.com.The latest ROM has better battery
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
thanks - but how should I load? Do I need to wipe the tab first? If so, what needs to be wiped - cached and dalvik? I want to make sure there is no trace left of the Italian ICS.
thanks again,

Having tried that, the battery drain is no better at all.
Anyone with other ideas would be heard with appreciation,

All stock roms from sumsung, based on Android 4.0.4 suffer from battery drain ! So flash stock Android 3.2 rom via odin OR install this custom Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813651
- Android 4.0.4 (modified in the best way ! )
- battery drains 3% per 18 hours - the best battery drain since last year
- completely everything works as in stock samsung rom
- pretty fast (faster than stock Samsung rom based on android 4.0.4)
- flash A1 kernel v1.7 via CWM 5.5.0.5 mode ! (or battery will drain up to 10%) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833136
Install:
1. Boot the tab and copy downloaded archives to internal memory:
* A1-p4-1.7-3G and JellyBeanRomICS v7 XWLP5 GT-P7500
2. Reboot in CWM
3. Wipe data / Wipe cash
4. Advanced - Wipe Dalvic Cash
5. Go back - Mounts and storages - format System, Preloads, Data, Cash (ALL data will be lost !)
6. Go back - install zip - choose zip one by one, flash rom first then A1 kernel
and only after then reboot.
Enjoy

thanks for the recommendation of ROM - I'm going to try it now!
One question: does it have to be CWM 5.5.0.5 - mine loaded is 5.8.3.1?
Update: I used my CWM and everything seems to be on OK: thanks for the suggestion and the instructions - really appreciated from someone who doesn't know an awful lot about these things. I'm going to have fun testing this ROM over the next few days and, if it has stopped the battery drain, that means one fewer gadget for the cellar!

It looks like the reason it locked up was that you wiped your system ie your rom you should have done a data wipe instead. I was just about to give you instructions on how to do that but looks like you solved it yourself lol

HELP! Auto-reboot problem SG3 I9300

Help guys. So my problem is that, my SG3 I9300 is keep on rebooting. It'll just boot to my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it will reboot again and again. I have to remove my battery for about half an hour and put it back on to reboot successfully. Another thing is that after it reboots successfully, when I use applications like FB / COC it also reboots on its own so as the stock camera application. Apollo is a system app like the camera right? But Apollo works without any problem unlike the camera.
I thought it is a bootloop problem, just like what I've said on my previous post. Sorry for that.
So here are the things I've tried:
1. Flash stock rom (from Sam mobile) thru Odin
2. Delete cache and factory reset in custom recovery
3. Factory reset on TWRP - Wipe everything including Internal sd - Flash Megawipe
4. Flash other custom roms thru TWRP/CWM
5. Flash stock rom thru Kies
The problem still occurs after everything I've done. So please help me
Thanks! :good:
Current rom: cm11 m12
Android version: 4.4.4 KK
Kernel: boeffla 2.7 NG

Try another battery if not it is a faulty power button or other hardware problem. I see you have tried other roms so this rules out a software problem....

I'm hoping it is a battery problem alone. I'll note that for now bud, thanks! :good:

Battery lasting considerably less after installing LineageOS 17.1

Hello, i did the following steps:
Wiped system, cache and data
Flashed the latest firmware (V11.0.6.0.QEJMIXM) from Xiaomi Firmware Updater site.
Flashed the latest LOS 17.1 from the official site
Flashed OppenGApps, nano variant
Flashed Magisk 20.4
After that i wiped dalvik because i was having a problem with Play Store where apps would be forever pending to install
At first the phone was heating more than usual but it seems that it has stopped, but now the battery lasts considerably less, i believe that flashing "vendor" may help, but i'm not sure. I used LineageOS 16 before.
Thank you for your help in advance.
