I HARD-BRICKED my Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830i) :/ - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone in XDA forums ,
I don't really remember what exactly was the thing that I did in which I hard-bricked my Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830i), but it was a combo of rooting and then (OS)s installations... I rooted the phone successfully and as far as I remember I could even flash a KitKat firmware, but then it got bricked at some point after trying to flash some Cyanogenmod firmware [USING ROM MANAGER]... YES, I got to know that it's terrible to use ROM Manager for that purpose on the ACE but that was after I bricked my phone -_- (I still don't know why though; anyways...)
My smartphone is currently hard-bricked, meaning that I can't access download mode, recovery mode, or even fastboot mode; and I can't see a single thing on the screen (not even the Samsung Logo or the so-called "Yellow Triangle" , or even the Android Logo)... The only sign that my phone is still working (AND NOT AT ALL HARDWARE-DAMAGED) is the color of the screen which is (well you can say purple or kinda grey; also known as the background light/brightness)... I've tried the following:
1- All the normal button combos in all possible ways and conditions.
2- The (removing the battery, connecting the device to the PC/Laptop, clicking a button combo, and then inserting the battery while still holding the button combo) method.
3- I even tried the adb method, the SP Flash Tool method, and using a Jig.
So practically my main problem is that my phone can't even get to any mode and that it can't be recognized by any PC/Laptop not even after installing the drivers properly or changing the cables... If I just could get my Laptop to recognize it or even just get to the download mode without even having my Laptop to recognize it, then I'd be easily able to solve the whole problem.
P.S: PLEASE don't tell me that it's hardware-damaged or that I need to go to Samsung, cuz IT IS NOT HARDWARE-DAMAGED AT ALL and under the VERY SAME circumstances many people could unbrick their hard-bricked devices, and one of which is the Samsung Galaxy S3, just because they have an alternative method to boot (including the "booting from SD Card using a debrick image" method); and my warantee is void a VERY LONG time ago, since I bought the phone like 5 years ago.
Even if a software solution is still not known to the community it still is possible to unbrick my phone using a JTAG Repair device.
I really hope that somebody would be able to help me in solving this dilemma with a software method... Thank you anyways, and have a nice day / good night.

Similar brick here on my S5839i. I did something stupid and flashed everything including bootloader from a galaxy Y (S5360).
Now its not responding to any button combos,
When turned on I get a blank screen, then the camera LED blinks and the touch buttons light up and it stays on the blank screen.
If I can just get into download mode somehow it should all be fine.
My last hope now is to try a jig when I get my hands on one.
Also when plugged in, its recognized by windows as BCM21533-Thunderbird
Maybe anyone has been in a similar state and could help please?
Thanks

My Ace doesn't even get recognized by a Laptop or a PC... I tried the jig method as I mentioned before without any success ... Thanks for your reply mate Hope that you find a solution for your problem very soon

Bricked like yours!!
I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MY GALAXY GRAND 2
Here is the problem...I BRICKED MY PHONE!!
I am not able to turn it on and my screen wont even show up!!!
I try pressing all the switches, tried to boot it to recovery mode, tried to normally boot it but NOTHING WORX!!!!!
"Its a SAMSUNG Phone Model Galaxy Grand2 SM-G7102"
what i did was i already had rooted my phone and already installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 and was working all fine until I thought of completely cleaning my device...
so i boot my phone to recovery mode, wiped dalvik's cache and cache partition and then clicked on wipe data/factory reset. The phone reseted and it showed the boot screen and then it showed optimizing apps and then it got suddenly stuck and switched OFF!!!!
BROTHER PLEASE HELP ME I AM IN NEED...I AM NOT RICH AND CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY A NEW PHONE. I ACTUALLY BROKE DOWN AND LITERALLY STARTED CRYING. I HOPE YOU CAN FIND A WAY TO STOP THE PAIN I AM FACING NOW. ?????
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME OUT(IF U DO)
I WOULD BE REALLY GRATEFUL.

Well you mest up with rom manager without any knowledge about it. AFAIK Your phone is now fully brick. You need to replace your motherboard(GOOD LUCK WITH WARRANTY )
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
If Flashing and Unbrick not working, what ever you do or how you try, then you probably messed up your boot ROM and it´s BRICKED. SORRY FOR YOU, but always, I MEAN ALWAYS read and search the forum 10 TIMES, before you start up messing your phone. It can very yeasely BRICKED.
I hope you can change it from service for free. Say that you trying restore to FACTORY setting(just make up some story[believable], why you was need to restore to FACTORY settings). Maybe they belive you and change your BRICKED phone to new one. Thumbs up for you and dont do anything stupid next time!!!
P1tt187, just out of curiosity - how did you even do that?
When I tried to use ROM Manager it told me to install the correct drivers, but Galaxy Ace isn't supported, so I just resigned. Which drivers did you use?
P1tt187 My friend had the same thing, he used a ROM Manager to back up the ROM in the ACE. Identical symptoms. Only the Samsung service will help. Tell him that you turned off phone and not turn on (Phone) . Samsung Service exchanged him motherboard in ACE (on guarantee).
Galaxy Ace not supported yet by ROM manager! Sorry for you but search the forum(or just GOOGLE it) before trying something first. There is always GOOGLE to helping(if you not found it here). Just USE it!
I have rooted and customized all my phones(HTC, SAMSUNG), JAILBREAKED AND UNLOCKED all my IPhones(3G and 4G), just waste some time, for GOOGLE! But you must be patient. Everything is not coming in first search(but everything is there, TAKE THE TIME and be sure for right thing).
CHEERS!
Hey,
I just have the same problem, but I didn't touch to the ROM or anything else
I just rooted my phone with SuperOneClick, turn it off and it never turn on again...
Since my phone is rooted, I don't know if the warranty is lost, but I think so...
I already tried to remove the battery and then put it back while holding ok + volume down + power, but it didn't work, the screen stays completely black...
I'll let my phone rest a few days and then send it to Orange while I pray --'
Any other idea guys ?
( sorry for my bad english...)

Try to reflash with original version. Read this and try:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
or try to unbrick it, here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970
I'v tried to unbrick my phone, but it stucks on Odin at <1> setup connection..
I've let it run for 1 hour, but nothing changes
On the thread you gave me someone say that there is no solution for that...
What I don't understand is that I neither Flashed or tried to change the Rom of my phone, I only rooted it with SOC...
Anyway thanks for the help, I'll send it to Orange in a few days...

Of course I dont know what you exactly done or not but if its stuck in black screen and cant flash with ODIN, then I think its TOTALLY bricked. Sorry for you, hope you get it changed to new one! THUMBS UP FOR YOU!

Bootloop after unrooting

Recently i tried to install firmware on my Galaxy tab 10.1, but it resulted in a bootloop, and now i am on the samsung screen. I tried to install the firmware with mobil Odin. The firmware i used is P7510XEULPH_P7510XXLPH_HOME.tar. I dont know what to do to get my tab working again, because when i try to boot into the recovery, i get the flicker screen.
If anybody could help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like you soft brick your tab. Looks like your gonna need to whip out the PC and find PC version ODIN even though the screen stuck on flicker it will still connect well at least it did when I soft bricked my SGS 2. Well good luck guy I knw I had a few days of fun when I was trying to fix mine.
Oh ya one more important thing check in your device form in Q & A Chechen sticky always a lot of useful stuff or might even find a quick fix from fellow XDA fanatic like me.

Not sure if you are still stuck, but if you boot into recovery and then clear cache and user data it stopped the boot looping for me...

In theory you can switch off the tab and plug it to charge. It should charge as you do not hard brick it. If you can slash your tab via Odin, try to flash it two times, one by one not letting it to boot android and samsung logo after the first flash. After the second flash, reboot and hold the volume - button till you get into stock recovery mode. then wipe data and wipe cash. then reboot again.

my at&t not just died?

i wiped everything including a factory reset then installed liquid rc8 i used correct one for my phone it rebooted but never booted up to the samsung logo doesnt seem to vibrate or anything when i press power wtf?
now when i plug it into pc it shows my external drive then it vanishes then re-appaears and tells me to format it but that doesnt work either
Put in download mode and Odin back to stock.
How full was your battery when you started? May have drained it

If you can get back into recovery mode, try reflashing the rom or flashing another rom. I've had cases where a rom just wouldn't work for me (I too, have the AT&T Note). Never had the patience to try to figure out why. I usually try to flash several times (making sure I do a factory wipe) but if it still didn't work, I would just flash another rom.
If you can't get into recovery mode, then you may need to flash a stock rom via ODIN (in download mode) and then start all over from scratch (root the phone, install CMW or TWRP,flash custom rom, etc.). Please search the forums for a stock rom and all the files / instructions on flashing via ODIN if you aren't already familiar with it.
Since your PC recognizes the phone to some degree (it at least recognizes that the phone was connected and interacts with the sd card), it sounds like you have a soft brick which is fixable via one of the methods above. If your phone was hard bricked, then the PC more than likely wouldn't recognize it at all, it would do absolutely nothing and you would basically have a paper weight. It doesn't sound like you have a hard brick.
If anyone else has more insight, please chime in. I'm definitely no expert here.
it wont even light up to samsung logo or even vibrate also the sd is recognised but it randomly connects and disconnects odin does not see phone

Perhaps your cable is defective. All of my cables eventually get to the point where I have to twist them and hold them a certain way to work. When that happens I know it's time to replace the cable. You may just need to use another cable.
no i tried with 2 differnt cables also battery was at like 99% when this happened also windows keeps finding my sd for a moment and then vanishes could this be stuck power button? if so i dont see how i didnt touch power button when it rebooted

[Q] Galaxy s3 screen bootloop

Hey guys,
I have a galaxy s3 (I9300) and I've had it rooted for some time now. I started using CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies a few months ago and they've mostly been fine. The odd issue comes up but I've been able to work it out. So, a few hours ago my phone just turned off of its own accord and started to bootloop, but on the "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300" screen, not the CyanogenMod screen (to clarify, this screen comes up first then the cyanogenmod one usually). I've tried booting into recovery (CWM 6) but it just shows the CWM boot logo thing (that cog with the hat) and then loops back to the galaxy s3 page. I've also tried putting it in download mode, and it seems to stay on the warning page longer than it does anywhere else, but it wont let me actually put in it download mode from there.
I had a look around google and saw people have had the same problem, but everything I could find was when people had flashed a new rom/kernel etc. and something had gone wrong in the process. The weird thing about mine is that I haven't changed anything, even downloaded any new apps, for maybe a week, so it's not like something suddenly changed. I also wasn't using it when it started, it was just sitting on the table next to me.
Usually I can work these things out, but I'm stumped here. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, if I press the volume up button to go into it, it just goes back to the bootloop. I'll try the battery thing though, thanks!
Nope, it didnt work, I left it out for maybe half an hour and nothings changed :/ anyone else got any ideas?
SDS thread and BootLoop identical questions posted .
What does Product Code say in download mode .
But if you cannot get to download mode then you need a service centre repair .
looks like u are facing SDA but a bit diffrend than a normal SDS.. mine still can go into download mode with blank product name..
If product name is blank in download mode then you got sudden death, consider a phone as a brick. Nothing will help, including repartitioning.
You need to contact service centre.
I'll check it in a minute, but if it is bricked, will any service center actually help me seeing as it's rooted and all?

AFAIK if it's sudden death then it's not possible to detect root and other modified things, or in other words - nobody has money to prove that you have been using unofficial firmware .

Ahhhh, well that is handy then
In terms of a service centre, will samsung have a list of them somewhere so I can find one near me?
So I contacted samsung and they gave me the link to book into a service centre etc, but I just realised that when I try to go into recovery mode, the CWM recovery logo comes up before going back to bootloop. Is there any way to get rid of that so that my root is completely untraceable?

If you can't flash anything with Odin (stock software) then you're screwed. Eventually you can try to enter recovery and flash "eraser" of recovery, but this requires working recovery... So if you actually can enter recovery then you can also flash anything, which will literally delete everything.
In other case, no, no way. But if you're lucky enough you may break it just by leaving your phone on for some hours in bootloop, haha.

To be honest think twice before physically crashing your internal memory, as it may void your warranty at all.
I'd try flashing stock firmware through odin, if it doesn't work I'd try flashing anything through recovery. If both of these methods fail just leave your phone in bootloop and hope that it'll automatically destroy everything...
Seriously though, you can either physically destroy internal memory or leave it in bootloop and hope for the best, eventually send them device in current status. Up to you, because you won't have a possibility to do anything else.

[Q] Sorry BOOT LOOP problem, but BLACK SCREEN !!!

Hi guys
I'm new here so I hope you can help me.
I have Samsung galaxy S2,not rooted with original firmware 4.1.2.
I never had problems like this.Yesterday I was on my phone using Facebook application on WI-FI.After a while my phone restarted by it self and it was frozen with SAMSUNG GALAXY S II logo.I waited but it restarted by it self again and again it was stuck with the logo.It couldn't start up the phone.I took out the battery few times, started the phone and again the same problem.Only once after a some time of waiting and pressing the Power and Meny buttons together I think it started the phone and got only to other SAMSUNG logo, and the it restarted again by it self.I pressed the POWER Button and the menu button together, but nothing happened. After few other tries of restarting, battery taking out.......another problem. The phone can't start at all now.I can't even get the SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 LOGO.The display is BLACK now, nothing happens.
I was reading on internet today that this is called BOOT LOOP,and I can fix it by pressing all of the three buttons at the same time and then do a FACTORY or MASTER RESET...........BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT I CAN'T START THE PHONE AT ALL TO GET TO THAT POINT WHERE I CAN DO A FACTORY RESET!!!!
I took my phone to some repair shop and they told me that the battery is OK,and that maybe the problem is BOOTING or the Processor.
PLEASE HELP ME TO START THE PHONE UP,SO THAT I CAN DO A FACTORY RESET or if there is some other solution !!!!!
Thank you in advance

If you can't boot to download mode or recovery by any way then you have 2 choices:
1.Get yourself a usb JIG and pray
2.Replace the motherboard
You think that the processor is dead?Ufffffff....that is not what I expected.and what is that USB JIG.I don't think that I have that thing in my country. There is no another way to start the phone?

Some info about the jig
forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/ref-usb-jig-faq-frequently-questions-t1402286
Also try this:
take out the battery, hold volume up+home+power buttons and then reinsert battery without releasing the buttons.
What more information do you need? I wrote everything what happened with the phone.
It has original firmware Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and never have been rooted. It is bought from Australia on OPTUS network, unlocked. I had downloaded some pirate .apk's,but didn;t have problem before.
I was using Facebook application on the phone with WI-FI at the time it started BOOT LOOP.I took out the battery few times, started the phone but I still got only to SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 logo and it restarted by it self. I tried few times pressing together the POWER and MENU buttons together........nothing happened. Then after few attempts to start the phone,it suddenly stopped working. The display stopped working and it went BLACK,and now nothing happens even if I press all of the three buttons : VOLUME+POWER+MENU.......I can't start up the phone at all,to make FACTORY RESET.That is the problem now.I tried with another full battery ,but still nothing happens.I CAN GET THE PHONE TO START AT ALL.I ONLY GET BLACK SCREEN.
So if someone can help me to start the phone somehow and then try to do Factory reset !!!
Most probably your nand memory somehow got corrupted.
JIG,though in very rare cases, may force the phone to boot into download mode.
Imho, you shouldn't waste the time and get a new mobr a new phone.
What is MOBO,a motherboard? What about a link which I found where you can change some CAPACITOR only ON THE MOTHERBOARD?

I can't post it here, because I'm new member.I found some link where they say if you have water damaged phone and have short circuit, the problem is replacement only of some capacitor.......
